Title: Pleo eye colours - contact lenses

Just thought I'd post results of one of my attempts to customise Pleo eye colours. The best thing about Pleo's eyes (IMHO) is the depth and iridescence, so the only sort of lenses that might have worked would be the tinted type that you can see the real eye colour and shading through. Unfortunately, that iridescence is probably due to the depth of glass between the surface and the iris, so even with subtle lenses you can see the lens surface if you're not looking at the eye/pupil straight on, and over the pupil when looking from the side.

These lenses are just a subtle grey/blue, mainly because I wasn't about to spend £20 on lenses for Pleos so I lent her my own! :P

I was surprised, too! Of course, babies in general always have disproportionately large eyes, so the same applies to baby dinosaurs! It also helps that I used soft disposable lenses with lots of give in them.

As I think I said elsewhere, the main problem is getting the lenses to dry flat so as not to get in the way of the eyelid closing. The model here is my bricked Pleo, so that wasn't a problem - the lenses are just held on by moisture in the pics.

These look lovely. It also made me realize that my Kermy even though she has blue eyes still has a new color as they are a much darker blue than your pleos original eye color. :)
Not having an original pleo myself I really had nothing to compare them to. Thanks for the photos they are great. :) The eye lashes are a very nice touch too.

Wow, that actually looks really good :) *wonders if they come in purple*... or pink... Pink over blue might give a nice soft purple hue...

Ooooops - I'd actually forgotten about the eyelashes!! :D

Thanks for the feedback! I was thinking of ordering an extra couple of different colours (maybe greenish or purplish) next time I stock up on my lenses, just to see what they look like - I'll post the results. I'll also work on how to attach them long-term so the eyelid can close over them, without making it too permanent. Pleo has a slightly bigger pupil than people do, so I'll also look to see if maybe other brands might have the colour nearer the outer edge.

That's a very good idea. The contacts look so vibrant! Cute eyelashes, by the way. :)
