Hi Gents,
Well my Son has broken the top wire on the Pleos neck. poor thing has been sitting on the shelf for months and now is the time for repair.
The wire they used does look alittle weak tbh and I have already tryed a temp reapir with some wire and does work ok but is weakening.
I have found this as I am in the UK
http://www.tecni-cable.co.uk/0-54mm-A4-AISI-316-1x19-Stainless-Steel-Cable-MBL-33-kgs-602-000-540
0.54mm 33kgs :o
What do you reckon?
Thanks for anyones time
Cheers

18 kilo breaking strain ought to be enough to do the trick :) Be sure to post some pics of the surgery if you can, this has been a hot topic around the forum as older Pleo's necks wear out.

Hi,
THanks for the reply.
I will try to do a video guide and post it up.
I have ordered the parts and shall have them by Tuesday.
Watch this space ;D

Hi,
I had not until Yesterday, but by then I had dismantled
Pleo 3 times.
Very easy to take apart, just some little things to consider when doing so.
THanks for the post.
I will get something done in the next few days.
Also I would be prepared to repair Pleo's if people can't do this repair.
Thanks again for your time.

I'm taking one apart at the moment, for different reasons, for the first time. It's heartening to know you found it relatively simple! :D

Hi,
It is, just be careful of the wiring, it is very thin.
Put the screws into Groups.
If you need any help please let me know.
Cheers

Thank you - that's really kind of you, it's good to know. I've no experience but I'm careful and meticulous by nature, so I'm hoping I won't make too much of a mess of it, and I know I'll enjoy doing it! ;D

Hi
How have you got on with the neck repair?
The cable that is already fitted to Pleo, is it nylon covered or just plain SS stranded cable?
The links that you gave are very useful, they stored away in my mechanical allsorts folder. ;) ;)
Interesting post, as this is my leaning in life (fine/precision engineering).

This would be very interesting to see.. please post when ready!
