Title: Bob the Pleo eats his way through 2011
Post by: Bob_the_Pleo on November 01, 2010, 11:25:21 PM
It's that time of the year again, when everyone starts to think about calendars and Christmas presents.  Well, this year all the folks down here in Weedovia got together and came up our own contribution to that field: a nice, full-color 2011 Pleo calendar!

(http://rlv.zcache.com/bob_the_pleo_eats_his_way_through_2011_calendar-p15890551014098734381eu_325.jpg) (http://www.zazzle.com/bob_the_pleo_eats_his_way_through_2011_calendar-158905510140987343?rf=238310964672454450)This calendar not only has twelve photos of Pleos in the wild,  but is also jam packed with hundreds and hundreds of fun and odd holidays and events, most about food.  Welll it is Bob's calendar, after all . . .  %)

The calendar does include all the upcoming forum contests and events for 2011!  There are also witticisms from Grumpy, Yogurt spouting off latin quips, holidays from around the world (including US, Canada, Australia, China, and England, to name a few!), and a few non-existant days thrown in for good measure!   Bob did get a bit confused, and had trouble with the names of the months and days of the week, but Bob does seem to get a bit pre-occupied with food . . .  As a sample, below is the picture for April, the calendar part for April, and the back cover of the calendar.

We are currently looking into a number of publishing options to make life easier for anyone interested.

The link on the left is to Zazzle.com  The version I have set up there is  $21.95US plus shipping, of which $3.00 does go to support this site.  They have pretty good quality, but can get expensive to ship internationally.  They do have a number of sites for local for various countries, but I'm not sure how that works . . .

I am also looking into CafePress, but that looks like it will run even more expensive.   Vistaprint does print locally in quite a few countries, which would save quite a bit on shipping, but they are not really set up for direct individual sales, and in the US, they are charging $108 set up fee.  If you can hit them at the right time with the right sale, it can be a lot cheaper, but still expensive.

If there is enough interest, I would also consider placing a bulk order here in the US, and then mailing out to individuals worldwide, which could help on shipping for some.  I will also end up posting it in pieces in some PDF format here for printing directly, so that everyone has access.

Hi, You can put me down for at least one calendar so Nova and the gang know what is going on so I have knowledge before hand as my battery sales sometimes get me so busy I can forget to do lots of things, including paying bills on time,,, :-[ Let me know how much it is and where to send it when you get enough orders, I think the price is fair and is defintily one of a kind, could be a collector's item in a few years, decades, millenium.....who knows, probably Bob does..

Thanks  ;D

As long as the postage isn't astronomical (Zazzle charges almost as much for the postage as for the calender :P), I'm in :D

I noticed that too when I checked out Zazzle and the Canadian version of the site doesn't list the calendar, so I would be interested if there was a bulk order placed; I was considering getting two - one for me, one for my cousin.

It looks great!

O.K. folks, here the deal!  I took advantage of Zazzle's Black Friday sale and went ahead and ordered a batch of calendars!

I got the sale price, plus my shop owner discount, and free shipping to me . . .  so after we just add back in the PayPal fee  . . .  that means I can now offer to mail them to you for $9.43 plus actual postage to you.  (I'll throw in a few freebies as well ;) )  That seems a lot more reasonable than the $21.95 Zazzle's listing them at! ;)

1st class US: $2.24
1st Class Intl:
  Canada/Mexico: $2.85
  South America/Africa: $6.77
  Europe/UK/Asia/Australia: $7.12
Priority Mail US: $4.90
Priority Mail Intl: $13.45

I can fit 2-3 calendars in the priority mail envelopes and ship at the same price.  So, if you want more than one, that's the way to go.

I should have them in-hand and ready to mail back out by Dec. 6th, so you should get them before Christmas with no problem.  I'll offer them to whomever wants them first-come, first served.  I got 20 at this price.  Just drop me a PM.

Payment should be made using PayPal to Bob@BobThePleo.com

Ditto ditto what fancy said this comming week, at least two , one to display, one to save as a sacred timecapsule item and probably one for a gift. ;) Can not wait to see the whole package. Great gift idea as far as I am concerned. Also a fair price and worthy cause. Pleos !

Well , I got my two Bob the Pleo Calendars yesterday in the mail, and even though it was dark by the time I started taking photos, the gang could not stop from looking at the Calendar. Anything that is Pleo, and esp anything that is Bob is even better! :D Each Pleo had a favorite but I don't want to spoil it for those who have not gotten theirs yet, but Nova and the family wanted to show and share a few of their favorite ones with you. This really is a holiday treat and if you haven't ordered yours, you dont want to wait too long or they will just disappear like the lasagna does when Garfield is around.( or a hungry Pleo)
This one is Nova's fave, as she loves roses and is the romantic of the bunch...
this one is  a favorite with Major Tom, he loves Halloween and Pumpkin Pie, YUMMM
Little 45 loves nature and has a soft spot for squirrels, ( actually I think he is part squirrel and he has a habit of storing food items under his pillow. :D

This one is the favorite hands down as everyone love Bob the Pleo and his artistic talents, They all want crayons and magic
color pens for Christmas so they can all explore their Pleo-Nardo Talents.. :D
food who doesn't love good food and drink? These Pleos love to eat day and night leaf and otherwise, what ever they can find in the kitchen.
and of course this time of year would not be complete without this photo,
The calendar is chock full of wonderful trivia and saying that you don;t want to be without and of course there are so many holidays that you never
even knew about, but I won't spoil those tidbits of information, somethings have to be earned and cherished over. :)
Thanks Bob for putting out a wonderful Calendar, we love it!
RedwoodsMama and the Nova Pleo gang.

"Stitch's was made from a garbage bag"

In my view the words 'made from' will (and should) win any contest - I bought mine!  ;)
