Title: Wolf scratch board
Post by: Firebreathingsquirrels on October 09, 2010, 09:33:32 PM
I've been working on a wolf drawing on a scratch board in art class and I just finished it on Friday, I'm pretty proud of it  ;D Also, I have a wolf drawing in pencil :)

You should be very proud! :) Very impressive! The eyes on the penciled drawing are beautiful.

Very nicely done! I love wolves and all wildlife actually, What exactly is a Scratch board? I love the textures on the wolf's fur, I think it looks more impressive being in black and white, it captures the nature of the wolf, wild and free. ;)

Thanks Redwoodsmama!  ;D I can't really explain what a scratch board is, so heres the official definition  :P

A cardboard coated with impermeable white clay and covered by a layer of ink that is scratched or scraped in patterns revealing the white surface below.

So basically its a black board and when you scrape off the black its silver underneath, and you make pictures out of it  :) And yes, wolves are wild and free, and should stay that way, I hate when people put wolves in cages for show or for "pets".

Oh, and any ideas about what you're going to name "Un-named brother" yet?  :D

Yep, I'd be proud of that too (if only I could do it)!  And I agree with Fancyfont - the eyes ARE beautiful on the drawing! :D

FirebreathingSquirrels, actually I thought about holding off and surprising everyone, but I will let the " pleo" out of the bad, Unnamed brother is one of a few un-named Pleos, and I have been thinking of a long time now of holding a CONTEST to see who can come up with the best name for one of my Pleos, Of course there will be prizes and I don't want it to be mixed up with IMR's Scavenger Hunt, I have to think of all the rules, etc, but there will be nice prizes and they have to do with Pleos of course.  :D so keep names in your head, and I will announce it within the next couple of weeks.
I agree, I think animals belong free and wild in most circumstancs, except of course when they are threatened or endangered, and then they should be involved in a breeding and re-location program of some sort.Keep up the artwork, you have some talent! I can see you will be drawing Pleos soon
