Title: If you could change just one thing about Pleo what would it be?

I would change the skin. Not necessarily the material but a way make new skins available to users that they could buy and put on like a full body suit. Many people have had problems with the skin so having a replacement skin would in the long run save UGOBE money because people will buy a new skin rather than return their little friends.


What would you change?

Having a removable/replaceable skin would also make neck/tail repairs easier, and more user serviceable.

But my reason for getting a pleo (which has never been realized) was the programming/hacking part.  And based on what info has come out around that area, the one thing I would like to change is the onboard chips.  I would want to see more powerful/faster CPUs with more internal memory,  to allow for more complex programming and to do things like speech recognition, image recognition, streaming video/audio feed, etc.

Hmm, I love Pleo. I really do. But there is a TON of things that need a little tweaking before Ugobe finally gets it right. I have more than one suggestion, so bear with me. First off, I would change the battery life. Next, I would change the cables. I've had a Pleo with a broken neck, and it sure is depressing! Finally, I would change the skin. What I mean by that is, make the paint less likely to chip off, and give the rubber a better feel. Make Pleo seem more realistic. Ohh!! And lastly I would make Pleo a little more affordable. He is adorable, but Ugobe would sell a heck of a lot more if they knocked off 50-100 bucks! Ohhh!! One more!! I would also ADVERTISE!! Make Pleo well known.

LOL and yes Mweed, I know you said one, but once I get my brain wheels churning, it's hard to stop them!! LOL

I totally agree with faster chips, and add some better software too to do programming with. My skit, YAPT and Dino-mite are ok but they have there limitations.

These are all good ideas :)

I would change the skin, a replacement skin is a very good idea ;)
The other thing is the gears and motors, i dont like so much that "bzzzzz" noise when Pleo is doing some action. Sometimes is very boring, it's still the one thing i dont like in Pleo.
Finally, a li-poly battery in every package, like the Japanese/Chinese markets.

I have to admit that while the motors don't bother me the battery does, honestly it looks like someone taped together six AA batteries :P

It's worth while if you can to have several batteries. Well, at least two. This makes a BIG difference.

Yeah I have two, and if I keep Matilda switched off when she's not the center of attention I can keep her running all day on them :)

maybe you can get a li-poly battery, there's a link to a germany shop here in the forums ;)
