Battery looks the same, but nothing else visible - no USB or SD card slot, no mute/default position button, and no on/off switch and 'mystery-panel-that-looked-like-it-was-going-to-be-something-and-they-changed-their-minds' (look, I never said I was a techie!). Looks nice and neat!

If you look at the bottom back foot, there's an extra screw and it looks like they might have hidden some functions there?
Was that where the internal clock battery was to go based on the PDF of the quick-start info posted earlier?
And, yes, it sure does look like there's some green on the other side of RB.

I do like the overall look of RB's belly, and the vivid coloring you can see in the bottom left of the image. Glad (this) RB is still Green!
Will RB have a charging dock? Think, RB may walk up to this device and stand atop it while it gets charged through its feet...?

Existing batteries will be incompatible with the new Pleo RB. That means RWM's batteries will not fit into the new Pleo.

a pleo that has been improved on its recognition of sound and sight would make this all worth the wait , also if pleo reborn has more motion of movement and moves at 2 speeds like a walking speed when he is in free roam mode and then if he could speed up for i dont know what reason maybe when you call him that would be cooool :-)
Also hope the skin has been improved i do not want to be too scared to pet my pleo in fear that i am going to rub his paint work off lol

They DID have to address the battery issue - it was ludicrous to have to buy a different (egg) battery and charger to get a decent run time, so I'm not at all surprised by that.

This is a photo of what I think will be a close interpetation of the new pleo, and it will be PLUSH PLEO RB. THE PLEO WILL HAVE CUSTOM SOFT SKIN, PLUSH OR FABRIC, NO MORE SKIN PROBLEMS. THIS IS A PHOTO FROM A SCIENCE CONVENTION WITH A JETTA REPRESENTIVE AND HE IS HOLDING A SMALLER VERSION OF PLEO AND YES IT IS PLUSH,

I definitely prefer the rubbery material Pleo already has, even IF it wears easily.

I also thought just posting the picture I found brought good discussion, on what type of material /skin people thought they preferred or possibilities for Pleo RB. Isn't that what the forums are for, discussion, and people's opinions? Not everyone likes the same thing and even when the majority of people like one thing, there are still some even a small majority who may like something else,In the end it doesnt matter what we the Members like or do not like, the final outcome is dependant on what the makers of Pleo RB decide as the final project, just as we can not control or say what we think the price should be. One thing that I am we all agree on is that we appreciate this Post you have made and we all are anxiously awaiting the next little tidbit of information you give us, so thank you for that. :)

I completely agree - the whole point of the skin to me was to add a note of realism. As a kid I would have loved Kota and his ilk, and the Wowee range, but at my grand old age that's not what I'm after.

i know you are thinking that pleo would look more robot like if made from material like Aibo but i still think he could keep the charm he has , the same colours can still be used and he will still have those eyes that people love . If you ever watched vids of pleo skinned i actually quite like that Look as well lol he Looks quite smart underneath that skin , and a big plus is pleo will last a very long time which to me is a big priority . ;D

Hmmm, I know this is not leaning much towards your opinion, but I had an idea a while ago and you just reminded me...
What do people think of a rubbery skin with a sort of padding underneath? Not all over Pleo, of course, but it just bothered me slightly (SLIGHTLY is the word here) that Pleo had such baggy skin, especially around the sides. I know this could be (and likely is) used for ease of movement, but it seems to me that there's a bit much there even for that. So I was thinking a sort of padding (like packing foam?) underneath would be a bit more realistic.

Firstly invo talk about pleo as a campanion , a life form , but i find it hard to see pleo like that when every hour i have to remove a chunk of his belly to charge him. I think they really should spend some time rethinking up the whole recharging dock scene. I mean pleo is still a toy because of this drawback , hes a expensive highly sophisticated one but in theory he still is.
I mean wouldn't it be sooo cool to look around for pleo and find him sound asleep curled up in a nest themed docking station, They could even make him stretch , twitch an occasionally rumble away. That would hardly drain the battery while charging.
Also this is my idea, why not once they have got pleo charging in a dock , make a egg shell case that surrounds Pleo they could make it out of plaster of Paris or something, Could you imagine this , walking in a shop buying a pleo then opening the box to find a large egg. Placing it on the docking station. There could be like a delay for the battery to reach full charge then pleo goes through a timed hatching process with chirping , rocking , finally streaching out slowly making holes in the egg shell. I mean that would make it sooo real. They could like operate a re hatching scheme like there re carnation , where you get a new egg but either your pleo is re cased in a egg or his personality is put in a new unhatched one.

The skin on Pleo is made from much the same material as before however the molding has been improved so that the areas under the armpits which used to tear and develop holes have now been thickened to increase durability. The paint has also been improved and should be around five times more durable than before.
Pleo will be powered by a new LiPoly battery included which will be INCOMPATIBLE with older Pleos and chargers. The battery must be removable for Pleo to pass certain EU safety requirements, so that is why the belly has not been completely skinned.
Adam, I like your ideas but remember, Pleo is being sold for around $350, not +$1000 like an Aibo. You get what you pay for, and not very many people would pay so much money just to see their robot hatch out of a plaster of paris egg.
Allosaurus: Pleo actually does have foam packing material on it's sides at the moment, I expect that it only has a little bit as more would impede servo function. Go find some photos of skinned pleos and look at their sides, around the hip joint.

i understand also what allo was saying about the slight folds that would appear in pleo's skin slightly when he moves and would be nice if this is sorted out in the pleo rb .
As for the hatching vase that was mentioned where pleo would emerge from the egg when you first buy him i can see Kids loving that but cant see something like that happening which brings me to wonder if Pleo's walking has been improved ? As for example sometimes pleo can get caught up on the slightest thing such as a rug on the floor i wonder if they have improved on this and hopefully pleo can sense maybe when he is stuck and change his walking pattern to higher steps maybe? then back to regular walking once he is free . 8)
Oh as for the self charge i know that the newer I-CYBIE that was released with a self docking station were able to self charge i know this as i bought 1 for my son and he i-cybe was successful at times at self charging . And if you look at the price i-cybie was at that time, it was not that expensive really so i am sure they could design a self charge for pleo without putting up the price too much .

Maybe the self charge could be something you buy separately and comes with a download patch you could install onto pleo so he then recognises his self docking station ? i see this would add more appeal to people would'nt it , that you could buy extra stuff like this for pleo rb .

I hope you guys (at Pleo World) will re-add the mute button to Pleo. Useful at night or when you want your Pleo to be quiet. Ew, no, I don't like the "plushy Pleo" either. No "kiddie version" of the 2010 Pleo for me. I'm really happy the 2010 Pleo's gonna look like it does now.
The on/off button on the Pleo RB is also the volume/mute button too.

When i first saw the vids on you tube about pleo before he was released i always thought that he would be able to spot out his leaf and come to you when called this was the kind of impression i got back then . And its these kind of improvements that would really start up a big Pleo frenzy and get the World going Bonkers about Pleo RB .

Appears to be a skit. Also, I think the person's hand positions (when placing\taking the object) change throughout the vid, so I don't think the video is on a loop.

The other question scares me, it really has me worried, Do you know if the new Pleo RB are going to be able to interact and will they recognize the older Pleos, or are they only going to recognize other Pleo RB? :o I am really hoping they will recognize and be able to interact with all pleos, regardless of which model, It would be a real shame if they could not talk to them or recognize them. That bothers me more than the possibility , highly likely, that they will cost more than the current Pleos.

Just because there is going to be a newer, more improved Pleo, does not mean that the original Pleos should be shoved aside, and treated as second class citizens.
These Pleos are the founders of Pleo Nation, and deserve to be treated with respect. Ugobe and even the Innova Pleos have a special spot in our hearts, ( and heaven knows our pocket book... :D) and the very idea that Pleo RB may not interact or even recognize their brothers and sisters, is beyond belief to me. It would break my heart to think that Nova, Little $45.00, Un-named brother, or Gold Card, would be shunned by Pleo RB. Would I have to have two different Play dates just to interact with my Pleos nowPleo RB would also be losing out on a lot of enrichment activities if he didnt get to meet and interact with Nova! I mean not meeting Nova is like passing up the opportunity to talk to your fave singer, actress......or the Queen her self, it is just not somthing a Pleo,any Pleo should miss. All Pleos can learn from each other, and just because Pleo RB has a higher I.Q, does not mean other Pleos should be shunned and put in the back of the closet somewhere.( guess you can tell how I feel about Pleos, esp my Pleos and MS. Nova.. ;)) If Pleo RB can not communicate with the Original Pleos, I dont think I want one, I couldn't do that to my other Pleos, and that is sad.. :( So I am hoping my fears are unfounded. { you know I am just laughing with you Gucci, just having some fun now don't you!}

Barretgazzy, you continue to sound dissatisfied with all of the work Innvo have done. You have to remember that they are trying to make big improvements without changing the $$$price$$$ of Pleo! I don't understand, or maybe I am so excited because I know all of the improvements and you guys only know some at the moment. If you are still dissatisfied in a few weeks, you don't have to buy one.

You had mentioned in 1 of the earlier posts that innvo do come in and read the forum, so this is as good a opportunity as we get in putting our own ideas over to innvo in what we would like to see in the improvements.
Now i want to see Pleo RB as big a success as is possible as i think we all do here and i have only basically talked about the minor let downs in previous Pleo's with the neck breaking , skin and paint wearing much too fast and no way of really repairing Pleo at all. Also i like to bring up the things we thought were missing to make pleo that much better and like every1 else we do not want to see these problems in the pleo rb as we love pleo . We spend good money on pleo and most and if not all will pay that bit more to get a Pleo that will last a very long time especially when you live all way in the UK and so it makes it that little bit harder to buy 1 .
This is also why i did ask in 1 of my much earlier posts, How much People were willing to pay in a much improved Pleo ? this was to put that thought over to innvo . I think that if the price of pleo were to double to what it is now it would still sell very much so and also be a big success , JUST LIKE Aibo's have been.
So noo i am not moaning Honest , i have made it clear in all my posts related to the info you have kindly released on pleo rb , that so far i am Looking forward to hearing more and also did say i was liking the look of the learning stones .
Maybe we should not mention what we would like to see in pleo rb or not bring up any of our ideas at all that we think would be nice to see in newer Pleo's ???

I hear that! I surely hope they have something better than the bitter 2.0.....please do not get me wrong, I did like the improvements of 2.0, but the flaws surely outweighed the good. If they fixed all the bugs in maybe a 2.1, I'd be satisfied...

Given that there is new hardware (built-in clock, sensor for training stones) the OS will have to be a different version to have support for the new hardware and capabilities. I suspect the Pleo RB will have a significantly different OS than the 2.0 we tried on our Pleos. Hoping it maintains the social mode that makes our Pleos so responsive and from what I read about 2.0 did not stay active the same as in earlier versions resulting in some of the dissatisfaction with the 2.0.

The internal body clock is powered off a watch battery in the back right foot. There is a button on the bottom of Pleo which should be pressed at midday, this sets the clock. Pleo will now get tired later on in the evening etc.

Hope I don't sound stupid, just asking a question I wonder about and when I read that Pleo would get tired later in the day, it sounds too programed to me, which I like the idividuality of being able to interact with Pleo when the time is right for the owner, Myself.
I can see that a lot of people will love this feature and make it seem more like a " real Pet", ( except cats, which are more active at dawn and dusk, they allways seem to come alive when I am ready to go to bed... :D) Are there any other " time buttons" , besides this Noon button, that you can tell us about yet?

If Innvo wanted to further it's realism, they would continue to follow status quo. If Pleo's battery is charged, pleo is awake. If pleo's battery is dying, pleo should be getting tired...Like I said, I want to play with Sophie whenever I please. With my luck, after being fully charged, and when it's convenient for me, Sophie would just up and fall asleep, because this stupid clock tells her to? How is that realistic? I don't have a clock in me, and I know I'm real...Again, not a personal attack on you, Degers, I am highly appreciative of all the info you've provided us with. i agree, i dont think the clock feature is most important to get realism (in tamagotchi the clock is important to celebrate events and night and day events). You can get the most lifelike pet the more interactive that electronic pet is. I hope to see many features in this new pleo, the 2009 version was just a relunch of the same product, i hope to see a new fresh pleo and i hope to see it all around the world, not only on a website ;) and last but not least i hope Innvo release a Life Os that looks like the 1.2 upgrade, this is the most lifelike upgrade i ever seen after the pleo launch, the other are just things to transform Pleo in a robotic toy.

Degers, I love the photos, not crazy about the color but I do love the eyes, I do have a question and I am sure some other members are thinking somewhere in the back of their minds.....when they had the contest back in January or Feb. about voting for the new color, are you saying by the photos here, that this is the color that won? I dont' honestly remember this being one of the colors and I hope there are still more color choices than this. :o This color is not bad, but I do think there were better color choices that we voted on, and just wondering if the color voting meant anything or if they just decided to go with their own color choices. I do like the eyes , and from what I understand, there are going to be different eye colors, which I do applaud.

Gaz, did you have any joy with the colour recognition they introduced with the OS2 update? Pleo's already do supposedly have colour recognition, and were supposed to track red after OS2. I had little luck with Iggy, but then my house looks like my 'Placula' pic of Budge and is so dark only the cats can see most of the time! I've taken pics through both Iggy and Budge's cameras and they're not bad, given a decent light.

So I don't think that the learning stones will take away Pleo's sense of autonomy but it does mean that when I show them off to visitors I can actually get him/her to do what I tell them. So many times I've told people that Pleo screams if you pick them up by the tail... only to have mine laugh hysterically :P It will be nice to have some tricks that Pleo will perform %)

I know Ugobe got a lot of flack for hyping a product for two years before it was ever available. I know I personally went for six months AFTER I ordered my pleo before Ugobe ever shipped me mine. And they were constantly having to slip their date. The whole reason the Bob the Pleo comic strips even exists is because we had nothing to talk about on the PleoWorld forums because during those six months after they started taking orders and before they shipped, there was little or no info at all coming out of Ugobe . . . Advertising too early can do as much harm as good for a product.

Sorry Gaz, have to agree with Allo on that one - that colour's horrid! Although I too am a bit concerned by the brightness of the Pleo Rb pics, I'm hoping it's a reaction to the flash! Baby animals often are suprisingly coloured with strong contrasting patterns - to our eyes they can look rather bright, but to the predator they're hiding from the pattern breaks up the outline of their form and makes them invisible. :P :D

And lets not get too sidetracked on the color issue. The image you refer to at the beginning of your post barretgazzy is one of the earliest prototypes, and that skin pattern was rejected very early on in the development of pleo, so I can guarantee you won't be seeing any pleos that look like that one.

As with breeding Many different reptiles and keeping all sorts of reptiles etc in my time i would not of thought a baby dino especially as this was a dino at risk from predators would of stood out with bright colours and unless this dino has hair Lol or scales i do not see the need for adding the Line pattern on pleo unless the only reason is to make Pleo appealing to Young children . If the colour and pattern were to be anything right at all i would say this would of been a Adult Males colour not a baby Dino which prob would of had more of a dull colour to it to hide away within the lower shrubs and what ever was around in those times .
Bright greens would of been for Dino's living up in the Trees i would of thought , not baby Dinos that are walking on Land and are very small and would be at high risk from predators . Most people who probs do not know alot about reptiles or scaly animals only think of the Green Iguana lol which is more of a tree Climber and spends its time basking on high branches .
The point of me saying i want the colour in those links is to put a point across ... Ok so maybe not that exact shade but use colours That blend better as in those links will be better and this could be any shade! it just needs to Look natural so do away with the Lines and if you are going to use 2 or 3 shades in Pleo's colour make them blend properly and do not go from bright green straight to a tan colour etc as this just makes him look like a painted toy ! ... This is what i mean.
i quite like the cape on Pleo Reborn it hides away all the lines :D

The reason for the cape being a generic brown is that Pleo RB isn't a consistent color. :o The basic color will still be the green on top, brown on the bottom, but the specific shades of green will vary from pleo to pleo. The assembly line is set up so that the paint colors will be slightly different on each pleo, plus the eye color will also vary (I believe they said there were about ten different eye shades), resulting in no two pleos looking identical. Therefore a pleo cape with a specific color pattern on it wouldn't match any specific pleo. The pattern will be the same, but the shades will vary. One pleo may be darker or lighter than another, brighter or duller. Two Pleo RBs standing next to each other will be easy to tell apart, but to the untrained eye, two pleos on either side of a room will still look just alike.
The pattern is also just slightly different enough that a pleo owner can tell a Pleo RB from a regular pleo,
One bit of news is that degers did have a nice phone call with Derek Dotson of Innvo Labs where Derek tells us all about the new Pleo RB and what all we can expect. The good news is Derek wants us to share the whole call with everyone! :D All the details! :D :D Everything you ever wanted to know about Pleo RB! . . . The bad news is, I'm gonna make you wait through the weekend before I post it! ;) :P

i can not wait to hear the interview hopefully it will answer everything or most questions i have going around my head , my main concern is are they still aiming pleo at the younger generation ? as in the under 11's . i like the idea of the learning stones and the extra leafs what i am not to keen on at moment is the way they have gone about it by using the special chip and this being the way that pleo will recognise these items , as this tells me that they have not improved Pleo's sight and most likely not improved his hearing . If they could improve on these areas this would make Pleo look more sophisticated in the robotic world and in turn would suddenly become more appealing to a much wider audience .

Innvo Labs does understand who their market is, and once you learn about all the improvements, you'll realize they aren't geared towards the young kid. But I realize you don't have all the info yet . . . ;)
The use of the chips to recognize the learning stones does NOT mean they are taking the easy way out rather than improving the hearing or vision. In fact, it's just the opposite. In order to implement the functions related to the learning stones they have had to make significant improvements in the hearing and vision. But there again, we haven't shared that info yet . . . ;)
SO just hang in there . . . all will be made clear in the next few weeks. ;) :D

So hears hoping Innvo have been creating a life os that will make use of the camera and stereo sound hearing in a more realistic and pleasing way . If they could get Pleo to really search for the face of people like Look up at them follow their movements etc at times this would really create realism .

little shame that theres no extra servos. he realy needed them in his legs. so they could move in all directions. our legs arent limited to just going back and forward, neither are all otehr animals. so it does restrict his realistic movement if his legs cant go sideways. it would have helped his slow walking too.
but its not a huge problem if his AI is vastly improved and his camera and mics have been put to use.
im all for pleo being more pet like than robot like. but thats not an excuse for him to be dumb and a doornob! XD i think ive had fish with more brains than the original pleos. not to say it want a good start, and he cirtainly was cute. i suppose he was a bit like a supermodel. not much in the head but he was nice too look at ;)
they can remember their name now? thats pretty nice :) at least if its going to be pet like it can know some commands like sit (though he struggles with it, rofl), play (dance?) etc. heck ive seem some pets trained to know hundreds of tricks. mainly parrots, but pattots aaare related to dinosaurs, so it could work. :D
i look forward to more updates on how the new pleo is. if his price is the same as before, or not much bumped up, and hes had considerable upgrades to his marbles, then i may just have a catbug II. but its not as high prioroty just yet as a 3DS and a ERS7 aibo. :S hahaha.

I don't do robotics and because of that don't really understand how hard of wot i say is actually possible . I just know Ive seen the same sort of stuff on other robots and know it works for them.

It just seemed so sad that they came up with all those beautiful designs, I really love the amber eyes with green or blue centres, and then didn't use them. Almost all of them are beautiful, even if the truly reptilian ones might have been a bit much. I wonder if they'll use some of them now? :)

This is correct. As I mentioned earlier, the blue and pink Pleos are ONLY for the Asian market.
One thing for everybody to remember is that when Ugobe was making the Pleos then they let the US have all of the Pleos first and the rest of the world had to wait. I would have loved to get a first hatch when they were on pre-order but I was not allowed one!!! So surely it is fair that now Pleo is made by an Asian company they can let their market have the first taste???

Then for the rest of the people who want Pleo RB worldwide, are we going to have to wait another year for more to be made, or will there be other Pleos made, but possisbly having to wait till the following holiday season. So another way to put it is this example:
Pleoworld mails out pre orders to everyone on their mailing list, and there are 200 Pleo Rb available, period. All 200 are paid for in less than three days and there are no more till whenever more are produced. In the meantime, is Pleo 2009 still being made and available at Pleoworld site, or will it no longer exist? a couple of days ago I went to Pleoworld, and when I clicked on buy Pleo, there was a X through it and it said, Not Available :o What does that mean? Are they temp out or are they done producing Pleo 2009, and it will only be available anymore through second sites like Ebay when someone sells one? I don't understand if there is such a limited supply, how there can be many sales on Pleoworld, what Pleos will they be selling, or are they going to focus all their attention on accessories?
If I can't get one here, then I will try to buy one from someone who gets one from HOng Kong, If they are that limited, I will be expected to pay a high price, but I remember the crazy Cabbage Patch doll craze in the 1980s, and parents that were willing to pay upwards of over a $100.00 for this doll that you can get at any auction site or thrift store for a mere dollar, no one even wants one anymore, and I can't understand why they would, myself, at least Pleo is unique and cute as Heck!
If it is supposed to be a couple of weeks till Pleo Rb becomes available, I am going to be living by my computer for the next two weeks, afraid I will miss that important email, I think a lot of people are going to be very very upset this year by not getting one, I agree that it is only fair that the China market gets first chance this time around, but I don't think it was FAIR. that PleoWorld announced all these improvements and got everyone all excited all year long waiting for the new color pleo and all it's improvements, waiting for it's release and then to find out their dreams are going to be crushed, as Pleo Rb won't more than likely even be available except to perhaps 1% of the Pleo Population wanting one, outside of the HOng Kong Market, We never even found out the color we all voted on. Looks like Old Pleos are still going to be big sellers this years for all those who want a Pleo but can not buy a Pleo Rb.... :(It is actually a little depressing untill you actually see one in the " flesh". And by that time, we should know more about any distributors reselling pleos outside of PleoWorld. If you look on the hong kong pleoworld web page and click on get pleo it takes you to http://www.chinatete.net/ click on the picture of pleo and it brings up an info page of pleo 2010! but it seems this is just the same as the inovo 2009 model I think? Maybe these are the same ones that are being sold on ebay? You don't seem to be able to buy them from this site though which is a bit miss leading of Pleoword as it it the "get Pleo" button on their site that sends you here.

Thanks Degers I do appreciate the wholel Pleo RB photo ;D, though I would like to know are there going to be any other colors available or just this? :( I don't remember when we voted if this was even one of the color choices, I would love to see any other color variation other than green, such as blue, red, brown, tan, with green perhaps. With as many Pleos as I already have, this is not much of a difference except for the yellow undertones and of course the eyes. Please post any other color choices, or at least if you can't post a photos, can you tell us IF THERE ARE ANY OTHER COLORS that are going to be made available? This will help determine just how much I want a pleo Rb and how much I am willing to pay. :)

I think degers might yell at you for that one ( :P ), so I'll give it to you sweeter than he would ;)
Well, I'll spill a little bit of the info to tide you over for the weekend . . .;)
The reason for the cape being a generic brown is that Pleo RB isn't a consistent color. :o The basic color will still be the green on top, brown on the bottom, but the specific shades of green will vary from pleo to pleo. The assembly line is set up so that the paint colors will be slightly different on each pleo, plus the eye color will also vary (I believe they said there were about ten different eye shades), resulting in no two pleos looking identical. Therefore a pleo cape with a specific color pattern on it wouldn't match any specific pleo. The pattern will be the same, but the shades will vary. One pleo may be darker or lighter than another, brighter or duller. Two Pleo RBs standing next to each other will be easy to tell apart, but to the untrained eye, two pleos on either side of a room will still look just alike.
The pattern is also just slightly different enough that a pleo owner can tell a Pleo RB from a regular pleo,
One bit of news is that degers did have a nice phone call with Derek Dotson of Innvo Labs where Derek tells us all about the new Pleo RB and what all we can expect. The good news is Derek wants us to share the whole call with everyone! :D All the details! :D :D Everything you ever wanted to know about Pleo RB! . . . The bad news is, I'm gonna make you wait through the weekend before I post it! ;) :P

Looking forward to more pictures with much hope to be shown some shades of "green" not yellow that look more realistic. Would love to see a herd of the little guys each with different shades all standing together so we can see just what they mean about different shades of green. :)
In the end I am going to buy one no matter what color they give me but really hoping that mine looks cool! ;D
Oh and I also would have liked to see some different color options available, my suggestion is autumn leaf colors, this would be more realistic as these guys would have been living in the leaf litter so it would make for great camouflage :).

And regarding the color choices that we voted on back in January or so of this year, if green and yellow were not one of the options, then why did they bother asking us What we wanted and voted on? Is it cheaper to make the colors green and yellow, or is there some sort of scientific study to back up the color choices they have made that says this is the most popular color for the general population? Aslo are the Pleo RB going to come pre installed with the 2:.0 operating system or something else? I also emailed PleoWorld recently but expect it won't be till this comming week till I hear from them. It seems their site still has some bugs and it is hard to even log in during all this change they are going through. Does anyone know if you can use Paypal on PleoWorld when paying for ay of their products?
Well, majority doesn't allways rule and that seems to be the case with the color choices for Pleo RB, but at least they made up for it with all the other changes which I appluad them for. ;D Well done indeed.. like the Rolling Stones song says, " You can't allways get what you want, you can try sometimes, but you get what you NEED!"

If the Pleo Rb are going to cost, " about the same cost as the current Pleos" I just dont see how they can have such alimited amount of stock? they made it souond like the componeents that fo into Pleo RB are expensive and that is one reason there is going to be a Limited amount of them being made, at least this Holiday season? ??? When the original Ugobe Pleos came out there were a lot o fthem, and there did ot seem to be a shortage of Innova Lab Pleos, so why the shortage of Pleo RB if the price is only " about the same as the Old Pleos"? Something just does not sound right that Pleo RB can be the same price with all these improvements,and still not have a increase in price?
The company which makes a memory chip that is used in all Pleos has stopped making that particular chip. This means that to use a new chip the Pleos have to be slightly redesigned to accomodate the new chip. There is a limited stock of the old chip, that is the reason.

I'm not exited too... i love the pink Pleo, she's adorable, but i cant pay much money to get one. I dont like the idea of many items too, for me Pleo now looks like an expensive "doll" with lots of accessories :(
I think the diffence between Ugobe and Innvo is in this point: Ugobe created Pleo with the idea of a companion pet, Innvo wants to sell Pleo like a common electronic toy :-X

I am a pet lover and as a owner of both Innvo Labs Pleo (Pleoxie) and Pleo rb (Bluedino). I could share my comment with you.
First I don't like the Pink color either, the blue one is OK but my best favorite choice would be the original green Pleo color, so I am looking forward to buy a Green Pleo rb when it is available in pleoshop. The HK agent don't carry the green version and they claim the pink and blue version is their special color edition for Great China market, may be there is different taste in China and Western market :).
Secondly, based on my experience with Pleo rb in the past 3 weeks, Pleo rb is too complicate as a toy for kids, the manual for one language is over 60 pages, so don't buy Pleo rb as a gift for kids if you are not prepare to guide and assit them to take care of Pleo rb.
I feel all the additional features are transforming the Pleo rb into a true companion pet I dream for , a robotic pet that I need to take care and treat it well like a real living pets such as feed it on time, petting it to keep it in good mood. Has sense if day and night. It would sad and sick if it is not being treated well. Can't be just turn on and off as an electronic toy.
I am now trying to ask my 10 years old son to take care of Bluedino in order to let him learn about responsiblity in taking care of Pleo rb rather than just being taking care of.
I like the food feeding features, We enjoy joking with Bluedino with the rock salt and mint leaf which it doesn't like. Also now Bluedino could response to its name except my wife own the right, not me :( .

And PWOKristy, why don't you believe in Pleo's having a gender, dressing them up, or naming them? I think every living thing has a gender (Except plants, but you never know :P) And to us Pleo's are alive. We don't dress them up because we think they're just dolls, we dress them up to protect the paint on their backs and to me it makes them feel more like they're ours :) And we name them for the same reason of making them feel like they're ours (We name our pets don't we? :P)

It is just a fashion statement and fun for most of us, it also helps personalize our Pleos, since they all pretty much look alike, which is why many of us are excited to hear that Pleo RB will have different shading of skin colors, and different eye colors as well, Can you imagine if every Pit bull, Poodle, Lab, Cocker Spaniel, or any other breed looked exactly alike, no diferences at all? I mean they are all the same height, same weight and facial characteristics and even the singing is pretty much the same, unless you have a SD card or skit inserted, you are looking at Pleo Clones and more and more Pleo clones. :owithout the broken necks of two of my Pleos, ( Nova and Little 45) if you put them in a lineup with even as little as ten other Pleos, and removed any clothing, wigs, tatoos or other identifying marks I had on her, I would not be able to tell her apart unless she was on, then I know my baby I am happy to say! ;D So clothes are one of my biggest and most desired accessories and not a luxery but a definite Neccessity since I have more than one Pleo.
My dog does not wear clothes, ( but she does don an occasinal bandana, and has a rain jacket since I live in the rainy Redwoods.. :D) but you would not catch me trying to dress up my ninet ts, I couldn't even if they let me, It is Just unneccesary. You don't have any idea of how many times I have wishes I could leave the clothes off of Nova and the rest, but then the paint would come off quicker and I would forget who is who without any identifying marks.? :o :( THANK GOODNESS I DO HAVE CLOTHING AS AN OPTION!

Also i have been thinking about the two People who already have a Pleo reborn and they were saying that there are 2 boxes , 1 with pleo , battery in it , and then another box had the other accessories in it ... Why can they not just have a box that would hold everything inside it ? and is this just for the Hong Kong edition or will the Pleo reborns we buy be shipped out in 2 boxes ? if so that will be even more custom fee's as we will have to pay for duty taxes on 2 boxes ???

I couldn't handle the waiting any longer, so been as I live in Australia I thought I would look into trying to get a Pleo RB direct from Chinatete Hong Kong. Very happy to report that my Pink Pleo RB is now officially on it's way from Hong Kong to me! ;D
I should receive it at the beginning of next week and am tracking my delivery with much enthusiasm.
I decided on the Pink as I don't actually like any of the color options very much, yellow/green, blue/purple or pink, but thought the pink was the easiest to look at out of the three. :)
I am very excited and can't wait till my Pleo gets here!
I will happily share with you all photos and videos as soon as she arrives.
Chinatete charged me $472USD for the Pleo. Not too bad I thought. The shipping was a killer though at $150USD but as this is my Christmas present treat to myself I thought it was worth the cost to save on going crazy with the waiting.

In order to get a pleo from Chinatete I emailed Josie Li the sienior marketing manager. Her email address was at the bottom of one of the news posts on the chinatete pleo web sight, the one that FBS posted a link to the other day. It took me about 3 weeks of emailing to get Pleo on it's way as I don't think they are set up to ship overseas and so had to work out how to do it. In order to pay for my pleo I had to do an International money transfer (IMT or sometimes called T/T)which involved me talking to my bank and having my account set up to be able to do it. They also had to work out a courier as the regular one they use can't ship to Australia as Pleo was over there size limit.
As I have already gone through this with them I am sure anyone else who tries it should only take about a week to get the pleo on it's way to you. The IMT took 2 days to get from my bank to theirs and then they were able to send my Pleo. I am hoping to receive Pleo by Monday at the latest.
Josie Li was lovely, very helpfull.

I know when you click on " buy Pleo Rb, " of course nothing happens, it says they are currently out of stock. What exactly does that mean?also the videos that used to be listed on the site, now says, " removed by owner". ???This is kind of confusing to me, are we close to getting the chance to buy Pleo Rb BEFORE the General Public, or have things changed, as I know they can and sometimes do. :(Also I noticed on the top right hand corner there is a Chinese language symbol, and then the word English? It is nice to see the description of Pleo Rb listed, but other things are still missing, My biggest concern now, is if Pleo Rb is actually going to be available soon, perhaps this weekend or begginning of the next week? So I might have to wait until they deliver her to me on Tuesday. It seems that they only have a skeleton staff at the airport doing customs on the weekends and so I have to wait. If I can get her sooner then I will. :)

If you go to the American site and click on the Pleo rb pictures it takes you to the Hong Kong site that IMR posted.
They did say that the site was being updated for Pleo RB and would be undergoing changes up till mid December, this was why we were all having log in issues.
Here's hoping they don't keep everyone waiting too long to release the green/yellow Pleo RB. :)

im following up the news on this thread for some time.
Ive just had a view at that english HK site and tried to get the PDK for Pleo rb.
As I am very interested in whats able to do with Pleo RB and what not on the HW/SW level I am interested in having a look at the PDK.
Since i don't own a Pleo RB and therefore don't have a HK-Account I can't get the PDK.
Can anyone of the (now 3 people i think) Pleo RB owners download the PDK and send it to me please? If so, please contact me.

Also if I read it correctly, one of the predetermined factors will be Gender, which means we do not get to choose if our new Pleo Rb is female or male, and I guess the gender characteristics are built in which I do think is interesting, I really could use a female with so many Male Pleos already. NOva is my only female thus far, and boy is she something! I wonder if Males are more bossy and females more passive. %)

Looking at that picture though , those Hip sensors are very close to some of the back sensors but i guess i can not really comment on all this untill i get a reborn myself and see how it all works or maybe the picture is not totally correct yet and there will be leg sensors too ? ;D

I also noticed that the two in the intro video had different color eye lids as well as eyes. Ones were brown and the others was yellow. I wonder if this could be used to distinguish between the sexes? brown for boys and yellow lids for girls maybe? %)

Liettepo, did they give you tracking, saying WHEN YOU WOULD GET YOUR PLEO? I mean there is a big difference between mailing out tommorow for example and on Dec. 15th. I am in no rush if it is that far down on the line as far as shipping costs either. What that means is, you can go directly to the page following the link, and place the order. You are actually placing the order on their site, through their ordering system, but your order is pretty much just sitting in limbo. It can't be shipped yet. They don't have them to ship.
I will have to verify what will happen to the order with Innvo Labs in the morning. You MIGHT just be getting your name on at the top of the pre-order list . . . or the order might not be a live order. I'll let you know as soon as I can!

The pink and blue pleo rbs were released in China a couple of months ago. The green/yellow ones are for the American market and will be released some time soon. I don't know if Chinatete can send or sell pleo rbs to people in America but they were able to sell one to me and send it to me in Australia. I also know that Smiliegirl has bought a pink one that is currently on its way to her in Germany. I know of 2 others who are in the process of talking to Josie about getting blue ones.

When we did the poll I thought the greens ones where more realistic and prefered that of course.
But having seen Kermit with her golden eyelids, I guess I just fell in love with pink :-[
So now I don´t know what to do... Should I order a Pink form China market och wait for the green...
I just thought it would be nice for Buddah to have a younger sister ;D
But what worries me is also the delay for the green ones...
Is there an issue with Pleo RB that has to be fixed first? Does that meen that the ones from the China Market might still have theese issues?
I´m just guessing here since I really don´t have a clue... Just know that my family is waiting for a new arrival and so I have to decide...

I keep looking at that Pleo rb pic Degers posted - I do agree with those that said the head being so much darker than the rest of the body does make it look wrong. To me, it either needs some more grey on the body, or maybe more pale yellow on the head .................... it needs something, anyway! :-\

It is interesting to note how far down the sides and legs the yellow extends. Derek talked about this in his interview. The color does come further down on the RB than it does on the "classic" pleo, SO it will be obvious at a glance even on a dark green pleo RB that it is an RB.

Keep in mind though that the cape only comes with the green pleos on the pleoworld site. . The pink or blue pleos don’t come with a cape. as said the other foods nmeds and learning stones have to be bought separately but even the basic pack gives you quite a bit to get started with.

I must say, that egg idea is pretty cute. Dunno how efficient it would be, but it would be a pretty cool idea if you literally get Pleo in an egg, and it has to hatch.
Oh, and is there any word on a date when they begin selling the non-Hong Kong RBs? Cos looking at the site, it says that the current price is for "pre-order for april", but I'm not sure if this refers to an RB or a regular Pleo. I tried emailing the company, and they just regurgitated the info they have on the site.
