I need to get a USB cable as I'd like to look into using Dinomite. I'm afraid I'm very ignorant in such matters, please can somebody tell me what sort to get, or if I can cause problems by using the wrong sort? Thank you! ???

Crewella you just need a standard mini USB cable, (but by all means take Pleo shopping if you aren't sure) they should be easy to come by and cheap. I have stacks of them from various devices so chances are if you have a camera, phone or digital photo frame you might very well have one already lying around. If you have any cables just try them, just don't force them if they obviously don't fit.

I have another question: Those the DinoMite software affect your pleo in any way?
-
Yes it can, you can manipulate joints and so on, if you choose to disable the safety feature you can move joints further than they were intended, and please don't use the photo feature unless you read the instructions carefully. Taking photos without setting it up correctly can brick your Pleo by filling up pleo's internal memory. However if used correctly it is a very good tool, as with any software, read the instructions carefully and there won't be any issues.

I'm too careful to do that :P

Thanks IMR - I have one that physically fits (from my card reader) so I think I'll be OK then. :)
Next question - does anybody know if Dinomite will be compatible with the OS2 upgrade? Also, I notice that the version I downloaded says it's compatible with Windows 98 - blimey, I thought my 'pooter was old running Windows XP! I did get it from the downloads section on here, but maybe there's a newer version?
I'm sorry to keep firing questions at you all, it's just I'm such a newbie to all this, and like Ohnart I'm careful! :D

Since the OS didn't change too much I think it will still work. That is the only version available.
-
I guess you could try to downgrade to 1.1........
-
Eeeeeek! Downgrading sounds waaaaaaaay too scary! :o
Thanks (again!) IMR, I'll go with what I have then - I just thought it prudent to check! I do appreciate your taking the time to reassure me! :) :)

No worries :) Dinomite is an interesting tool :)

Still not gonna use it....
