My three batteries are all but deceased, Lilo ran for barely 4 minutes this morning :( I order two batts and an egg charger this morning for less than $100 AUD delivered which was pretty cheap :) I hope they get here in time for my birthday so Lilo and Stitch can come out to tea :)
-
IMR, that's fabulous! It really is! So sorry to hear of Lilo's shortcomings, but so happy to hear of your li poly batteries. That really is great. They work wonderfully!
-
Hey Gucci :) I hope they run better, of my three batts one runs for less than ten minutes, one manages twenty on a good day and the last one still gets almost an hour, but you can't run two dinos on one battery ;)
-
Again, thus is true. I surely hope your batts get there ASAP a little over a week til your birthday... :birthday:
-
They are coming from Taiwan, parcels from Taiwan to here usually take less than a week so fingers crossed :)
-
I ordered the egg charger and battery as well, I have to say, it's even cuter in person than the pictures show. ^.=.^

I love the smooth feel, and chic design of it. Just be patient IMR, you will LOVE them!
-
Lol I think that is the first time I've ever heard a battery charger called cute and chic :D
I can't imagine why Ugobe opted not to use them in the first place.

ROFL What else would you know me better to do? ;D

I surely agree. They are more aesthetically appealing. Plus the lifespan! Overall just a more pleasant experience with us.
-
IMR, congratulations on getting your new batteries, Like gucci said, they are very chic looking and I love the " egg charger", kind of fits the whole dino theme if you know what I mean! It is great having such a long battery life too, You will have some happy Pleos at your party with " energizer type bunny Pleo energy", just going and going and going!
Good luck and be sure to post photos when you use them for the first time and let us know how you like them. I love myne and use the green ones for backup while the eggs charge, so technically could have Nova going for at least 3 1/2-4 hrs at a time with the switching of one and insertion of the other. With enough egg chargers and green charger batteries, you could have Pleos getting very little sleep! :D I do think that may wear the little ones out and they do need their sleep as well as we caretakers.

Congratulations with your new batteries IMR! I am actually thinking about buying one of those "eggchargers". But are they really worth buying?
-
ohnart,Yes at least in my opinion they are, but I think if you ask other forum members here, they will tell you the same, that they are. If you want more extended play time, up to 2 hrs, slightly more with Pleos depending on things like temperature, if clothes are on, age of Pleo perhaps, etc, then even longer.
Of course there is nothing wrong with the green original batteries, if you have more than one, you can just charge another one and wait and then have two which will probably give you up to 3 hrs total play time, maybe slightly longer, One definite advantage of the egg chargers and batteries is SHORTER CHARGING TIME, 3 hrs not 4, so you can play quicker, What I like to do is use the green original one while the other one is charging or already has and when the green one is done, Pleo ready to sleep, pop out the green and put in the white and continue playing and then charge the green, Just gives you more options and more playtime, Great for those day when you want to take Pleo out and socialize with the public, Nothing worse than a tired worn out Pleo just when people are getting interested, and Pleo is ready to go to sleep.
If you don't want to spend more money on the white battery and charger, than a green back up battery is a good idea, but you still have to use the original charger that came with your pleo, Also the white batteries only work with the White EGG chargers they come with, they are not interchangeable with the green batteries. I would ask more people on the forum here to help give you an idea of what they prefer, pros cons, etc. also just for your own information, I do sell the green ones already and all my Pleo Batteries come with a Free Bonus item ! Good luck with whatever battery you decide to get or use. Pleos are fun whether they use green, white or both! :D

I will let you know for sure when I get them, but I'm with RWM, the longer playtime and shorter charge time is highly appealing AND because these are li-poly batteries you don't need to run them out completely before recharging which is great when you go out unexpectedly and need a quick 'top up'. Not to mention that they are more reliable and will last much longer than the green batteries which seem to struggle past twelve months or so of life.
-
Dear forum users,
Where can i buy the egg charger and the battery, mine looks most likely deceased also?
-
Either ebay or wait for RWM to get some in. I got mine on Ebay, look for someone with good feedback and preferably a powerseller, I paid a little extra for mine because a cheaper one was from someone who had only sold 60 items and had too much negative feedback for my liking.
-
I got my egg charger and battery from a seller in Taiwan on Ebay a couple of months back and I couldn't believe how much better they were than my, admittedly second hand, old green battery. When I first put it in Iggy was practically skipping, and it was the first playtime ever where I wore out before he did! :D
-
^+1
In addition, the speed. My battery came in less than a week! From Taiwan! My Ugobe green which does not work anymore, would never compare.
Also, IMR, have you received your batteries yet? DYING to hear your analysis!!
-
Not here yet, but they won't be far away I hope :)
Edit: They're here :D
Lilo and Stitch play with the bubble wrap, they were very well wrapped :)
The long awaited green box!
Lilo and Stitch are just dying to know what's in there, especially since 'mum' raced of down the street to collect them from the post office :D
Lilo and Stitch admire their brand new batteries :D They are much lighter than the old ones.
One battery came charged already (the one with the charger) the second spare one I ordered sadly was not charged, it is charging as we speak :D
I will post a video tomorrow (or really late tonight) of Lilo and Stitch running on their new batteries :D
-
IMR, so glad they got there esp in time for your Birthday celebration comming up, You now will have two " energizer bunny Pleos" there will be no stopping those two. hOpe you have your running shoes on, you will need them to keep up with the Pleo energy, it is great fun with these new batteries,
Congratulations on getting one charged already, you wont[ be disappointed I assure you! I keep two extras on hand just in case of emergency and for double fun! :D

Yay! Glad they came so quick! ;D
Can't wait to hear what you think - 'energiser bunny' is spot on from my experience! :D
-

EDIT:
Just thought of something!
"A Friend Is Someone To Get Into Trouble With!"
LOL I just thought that was so funny, and thought that was the perfect quote for that picture. Please let me know, and I will remove this 'EDIT' at your discretion. This is not my entry for the contest, nor was my intent. Strictly for amusement purposes only.

Hehe love it Gucci :D
Had a scare last night, the battery that indicated it was fully charged didn't work when I put it in either Dino. I emailed the seller and this morning he had left a message offering some suggestions (like try jiggling it around a bit and turn the charger off and on without removing the battery and so on) and it now appears to be charging (turning it off and on with the battery in place did the trick), I shall know in another two hours or so if it is working. The seller has also offered a replacement at no extra charge to myself if it still does not work.
I bought from this seller and even if the battery is defective, they have great customer service and I would still recommend them. http://stores.shop.ebay.com.au/Alberts-Audio-Store_PLEO_W0QQ_fsubZ711058010QQ_sidZ504675030QQ_trksidZp4634Q2ec0Q2em322

Got mine on an auction from the same people and I was pleased with the service. If you're patient you can sometimes get them quite cheaply too, as from time to time they put one on at a low start price. ;)
-
'so glad IMR that you got it working, I have noticed that if you dont get the adapter plug just right or it is slightly loose at all, it will not connect properly and wont charge properly either or it will charge completley and if you think it is charged but you bump it, it will start to recharge all over again, so it is better to unconnect it at that point.
As a point of interest, I am ordering a case of 20-24 of the UCUBE batteries this week and will have them for sale as soon as they get here, I am anxious to get them up for sale here on the forum, As with all my batteries and other auctions, I ALLWAYS GIVE A FREE BONUS ITEM.

Sadly that second battery is definitely defective, the ebayer shipped me a replacement today.
Lilo being the eldest though got to use the new battery first :) Whilst Stitch now has possession of the three older batteries (although one is ready for the bin :P).

OH MY GOD!!! Stitch is so slowly in front of Lilo! Lilo is running around and having fun, while Stitch is almost falling asleep the hole time :P I am SOOO MUCH getting one of those "Egg Chargers"!
-
I DO love IMR's vids - so professional and beautifully made! ;D
Yep, the egg chargers/batteries really are a wonderful thing, I only wish I could get one for myself! :D
-
Hi IMR, definetly lilo looks more active than stitch. Congratulation . I presumed stich has the latest firmware because in the ends it froze while lilo went into sleep. Both of them look brand new, not so much of colour fading, visible crack and even the face especially the front of mouth and nose in which pleo loves to rub them on the floor look so amazingly new. How do you look after them.?
They dont interact anymore w each other from yur video posts, why is tat so, if it is because of new software in pleos then no point having more than 1 pleo.
-
wow cool that Egg and the Akku missing me still the Akku in Green from Jimmy runs not more so good, and I might so very that Egg and Akku have the Akku cost at us nor 19,00€ andthat is ok so hope i. :)
-
@ Ohnart: Stitch, to be fair is running on my very old and dodgy batteries, I am actually quite amazed that he managed to last two hours on them. He did have periods of activity but it was outside of my half hourly updates, although saying that Stitch slept a total of five times compare to Lilo only napping once and as far as I can tell that was just due to being too warm.
@ Crewella: Hardly professional :D Windows Movie Maker does all the fancy stuff, I just have to drag and drop the videos in, add titles and chop out parts of the video I don't need :P
@ Grin06: You are quite right, Stitch is on the newest OS which is why he ignores Lilo :( In two hours they only responded to one another twice, and I can't be sure that it wasn't just a coincidence. The 2.0 OS definitely makes having two Pleo's a little redundant although I don't know if it is because Lilo is not updated... I guess there is only one way to find that out...
Lilo's skin is in the best condition, Stitch tends to be taken out more because he has a protective coating on his back (although that has long since worn off :P) when being subjected to lots of pats they always wear clothing. Neither have any major holes or cracks, There are a few very small cracks but they only extend through the paint and no further, you can only see those up close. To be honest I have no idea why they haven't had any, especially Lilo who is a year and a half old. The rubber seems to have stood up very well. I do keep them away from any direct sources of heat including the summer sun and when not in use they are stored in the packing position in a foam box.
Since having Lilo and Stitch I have lived mostly in places with wood floors or very low profile carpeting so I guess that accounts for the lack of wear on their faces, there is nothing for them to rub their noses on really.
They have no teeth wear at all, not a chip is missing, they only chew on their special rubber leaves.
@ Franziska: The batteries are worth the expense, they run so much longer and recharge faster :)
-
Well congratulations, IMR! And again another great observatory video. How are you liking them now as it has been a few days? You have two chargers and two batteries or 1 charger and two batteries?
-
Hi IMR, great video that answers many prospective Battery buyers whom are wondering if the expense is worth it, and how well they run., As the video clearly demonstrates, Lilo had so much more energy that Stitch, like the difference between getting enough sleep and going to school or work and not getting enough sleep, Poor Stitch was just tuckered out at the end, despite having two green batteries, just quite not as much get up and go. also they are a bit lighter and the Egg Charger design fits in with Pleo ( Dinosaurs) nicely in my opinion.I think the video you made was very nicely and simply done that everyone can undersand regardless of language or where they live, all they have to do is watch two little Pleos at play and decide for themselves. Glad you are happy with your batteries and that they got here in time for Party Celebration! :birthday: :rootbeer:
