Hi Watergrazer, nice idea, and it may get some more enthusiasm going and get new Pleo owners involve too. Do you have any specific theme or anything goes? Nova has been looking for something new to get her involved, so she should be excited about this! Looks like we are going to have to use our Old reliable standard digital camera, as the brand new Cannon Camcorder I just bought on Saturday has to be sent for repairs to the Cannon facility, as there is no color, all purple and pink hues, so it needs to be serviced already, :(oh well, my luck holds out, as long as some dimwit in the local Staples store didn't DROP IT TO VOID THE WARRANTY################## I can not afford to pay for it myself! Anyway, the sun is starting to come out here in the Redwoods, so I will brainstorm with Nova and see what we can come up with. Who is judging, all the Pleo owners or you or guests too, how are you going to handle that? Thanks for bringing more life to this forum, I am sure glad you got Herbie and joined us. ;D

The forum judges...so whoever come to read, and posts to the forums, can vote. I actually run a lot of various competitions on other forums and it works out very well. There's no theme but I'd be leaning towards funny/cute/dramatic...something different. Glad you'll be participating. Can't wait to see Nova and so sorry about your cam issues!
-
Cool! I like this, I gotta grab my camera and get snapping! ;) This'll be fun :) I agree with RWM, I'm glad you joined this forum. We love people like you. ;D

Me too! Glad to do this! :)

The Title for this little photo is: I promise I won't tell" Nova knows how to get others to fall for her charms. When my poor dog Meh-lei saw her, she fell to the ground and rolled over so she could get Nova to give her a little kiss, and play with her. She had to convince her she wasn't going to tell anyone. ;D
Notice the spotlight is on the two of them..
RedwoodsMama and Nova
-
Ok, here is another one, I have my own title for this in the gallery, but in this photo, with Nova talking to Karl Kat, notice he has his tongue sticking out while listening to her. What did she say to him? You put your imagination to work and give it your own title and it will be more fun.! WAtch out though, as I have lots of time and Nova and I are going to keep on snapping photos so the rest of you now have your first ones to get you going!

Hi degers, sorry, I told you I was a dummy. :( I thought I posted the insert image, then put brackets, then put the smg code. so if I hear you correctly, is this an example of what I would do,
1. do not push insert image, 2. do not put brackets, 3. type in only smg id = then the number, but no more brackets. is this correct. ? If you can make it as plain as possible, then I won't make anymore mistakes. I apologize for not being able to get it right. I need as simple instructions as possible, even leaving out one thing such as do not put in brackets can foul me up then I create more mistakes and more work for you which I do not want to do for your or anyone else. I was told once before to use brackets, but if I am not supposed to , then I won't. %)
Sorry for any extra work, I am trying to get it correct. RedwoodsMama and Nova
-
Redwoodsmama, We both are still learning. Believe me! ;D Very cute photos. :) :) :)
-
RWM,
All you need to do is [smg id=XXX]
If you put that inside IMG tags, then it stops us zooming in on your photos :)
Regards
-
Thanks degers, does that mean, that I do not push insert photo, and put in myself, [smg id= ....]the number where dots are, and nothing more? If so then I will give it a try . I am sorry if I have caused extra work, I am not as good as even the kids on here at doing this as them, Thanks for the help.

That is exactly right RWM! :)
If you go try and click edit on one of your posts that I have modified, you will see how it is done :)
-
Ok, degers, I think I can get that. ;D
Oh, one other quick thought, if this is the way you list photos, is it the same for youtube videos? Do I NOT PUSH THE YOUTUBE INSERT BUTTON? Then just copy the address where my video is? If so it will be much easier for me to remember....I will wait to hear from you, Thank you very much for your help
and patience in teaching an " Ole Cat", and her young little Pleo ( Nova) the ropes.
RedwoodsMama and Nova
-
No for youtube videos, and for images that are not in our gallery, you need to use the image and youtube buttons.
For your youtube videos it should look like this:
[ youtube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gbsjHFjcnhM[/youtube]
(I have put a space in the first youtube tag just so you can see the code.
-
Thanks degers, When I responded to the MOO post by Watergazer with the Youtube video of Nova MOOING, did I do that correctly, or did you have to edit that one too? I thought I got that one right Finally, but I need to know if I did or not, on that one I copy and Pasted, so I " think", I got it, but until I hear from you I wont take it for granted that I did or not.. :-[ Thank you for helping us ( Nova and I ) learn the ropes.

OK, here are four ( yes 4) more photos, I don't see anyone else entering yet, so Nova and I are having fun taking and editing photos. Besides it is raining cats and dogs here in the Redwoods, so what else can we do? ??? The first photos is one of Nova and her little green friend, Froggie and they have gathered some carrots to eat. The second photo is Nova doing the Tada Trick, she had been practicing all day and I caught her just at the right moment.
The third photo is of Nova and her special friend, Yoda who was teaching Nova how to be a honorary Pleo Jedi in training, she was shy at first but soon got over that. The last photo is my favorite in this group. Nova loves to hear me read stories, and one of her latest faves is " Where the Wild Things Are", by Maurice Sendak. IN honor of that story, here is Nova dressed in her interpretation of what she would look like if she lived on the island of The Wild Things where she would meet Max, the king of all The Wild Things.

I love 'Nova the Wild Thing' - that's fabulous! :)
-
Hi Crewella, Thanks for the compliment, you should see the video I took of her " doing the Wild Thing", very funny, she is into Character too! :D

-
Redwoodsmama, I love your photo of Nova with Karl cat. Can't get any cuter then that. :) :) :)
-
Thanks Fancy, Poor Karl Kat was doing so well after having dental surgery, all his teeth removed because of Chronic Stomatitis, but he did get to keep his four Canines, Great for Smiling at the other eight, and he uses them to groom his fur with, like a comb. ;D He had surgery on March 8, but Sunday, early Monday he started drooling badly, and I could't get him to eat. He last ate on Wed. morning. Cats can quickly go into Liver failure and other problems if they stop eating, which a lot of people don't realize. I got him into the vets this morning and after a steroid injection he is starting to feel better. Poor guy, his gums were all inflamed, the surgery line where all his teeth were pulled. I was hoping pulling his teeth would solve his problems and end the pain, but some cats are Chronic Stomatis life long sufferers. :( The vet wants him to come back on Mon if not doing any better and if he is, to come back next Friday so she can give him another injection to hopefully wipe out " whatever triggered this last attack.
Karl Kat is so sweet and so patient and Nova just loves him, she seems to understand that he has medical problems at times and she likes to cuddle with him. Steroids can really kick in quickly luckily, and Karl Kat is feeling better tonight already wanting to eat which is a good sign and wanting to cuddle which he hasn't wanted since Monday.( when you are in pain, you just want to be left alone!) I will have to take another Photo of a happier Karl Kat and Nova again now that he is starting to feel better! You should put a photo of your quad in here too fancy! ;) Thank you for the kindness.

This entry for the contest is called "Cleo's Caravan" with Cleo the Pleo, Blumins the blue monster, Redins the red monster, and Nippers the Dog. Hope you like it :)
-
Awww, Cleo looks so cute with all her friends.
Love all the photos so far. I just checked the deadline and realized I'm going to have to hustle if I want to get some pics taken in time to get them entered. Ack! Where does the time fly?? I had thought I might get some outside this past weekend but it just didn't happen.
-
Pleonardo, Too cute! :) :) :)
-
Love the caravan - colour coordinated, too!
-
Pleonardo is very cute and he gave a great ride! My only question, does he wear a back brace so he won"t have a bad back!? ;D How far did he take them or were they doing a Gymnastic trapeze pyramid? Great Photo, very cute. :hhug: :hhug: :hhug: One Hershey's Hug for each of them and an extra slice of Pizza for Pleonardo for all that hard work!
:pizza: RedwoodsMama and MS. Nova
-
Thanks for the compliments Redswoodmama :)
As to answer you question, Cleo's Daddy is a real Physiotherapist (me) so she get's all the professional back rubs she wants :)
And as for a Trampoline gig -- that sounds like a good idea for the rest of the caravan except for Cleo since she is a UGOBE first generation and I don't think her neck can take THAT much stress from jumping:(
-
Hi, hey, I have a very bad back, Herniated disk and bulging disks on several levels, L-1-S1. and Facet ATrophy and DDJ, among other things. Would you consider or can you maipulate or work on backs over the internet or do you have a time transporter like on the Star trek Shows? :o Oh, if only, Oh well, Good to know you can work on Pleonardo's back if need be. Nova is a Ugobe Model too, but she is a 2008 Model I would guess as that is when she was purchased for a Christmas present for someone who was too young and she wasn't even registered so I was lucky enough to get her( adopt) the Christmas 2009. I have allways liked trampolines, wonder if Pleos would like them if they could wear a safety harness? %) cute photo compostition.
Best to you all, RedwoodsMama and MS. Nova
-
OK, HERE IS ANOTHER ENTRY FOR THE CONTEST. Nova just loves making friends, This is her newest friend, a Wowwee Lion cub. He wasn't sure at first of what her intentions were, and he let out an occasional growl. Nova won him over though by rubbing on him and singing a soft lullabye. He still let out an occasional lion mew, but his eyes began to get sleepy! :DI used a special effect to make them both appear more cartoonish, and softer looking.
RedwoodsMama and MS. Nova

Note to self: TAKE SOME PHOTOS!!! :P
Can y'all wait til wednesday when Stitch and I get home from our mini holiday ;)
-
OK, today is the last day for photos, so Nova and I went out for the day, and took along our camcorder.( finally got it back this past Tuesday from the factory repair shop, Cannon). The first ones are of Nova with her favorite characters from the book, "Where the Wild Things Are."In one photo she was tired of giving rides and took off her costume and just posed. The last one is of her and a wonderful Red eared turtle she saw today.
I think Nova's favortie photo is of her and the turtle and I like it too. Hopefully there are some more entries, where is all the enthusiasm guys!
Nova and I were both worn out today, and we spent two hours at our local Mall setting up these photos, and looking around. It was nice when taking the Wild Thing Photos, we had a group of children coming up to ask to pet Nova and asking questions. One of the boys even helped me set up the Wild Thing Photos shoot by finding one of the Wild Things Plush animals. At the pet store we had an employee going ga ga over Nova and they had to open a second line to help customers, because she got so busy talking, she forgot she had customers waiting in line behind us. %)Oops, hope she didn't get in trouble. Hope you are reading Watergazer, remember this contest was your idea!
RedwoodsMama and " Wildthing Nova "
-
Hey guys, I'm sorry I was not around. I'll have to explain why in the cafe, but I'm still running this contest and am going to extend the deadline a week, to end on May 8th! So keep taking photos!
-
More great photos Redwoods Mama. Nova had a busy day carrying all those Wild Things characters about! I love the turtle pic too - but then I like turtles in general.
Saw your post in the Cafe, Watergazer; I can certainly understand why you have been so disillusioned. It sounds like you have a difficult time ahead. I hope the postive feedback from everyone here can help to maybe make you feel a little better.
Thank you for extending the deadline - I want to participate but life has been fairly busy lately so the creative juices just haven't been flowing too well. Teagan and Tessa just had a wardrobe update after our order from IMR came in so they'll be keen to show off their new togs.
-
Nova is so cute! Love your photos! :)
-
Thanks Shadowmice and fancy, Nova was quite busy, wore me out, but we had a great outing and met quite a few people, lots of kids that were very glad to meet Nova and 1 employee at Petco that forgot others were inline behind us, as she was too busy asking questons and petting Nova. :)Pretty funny and I enjoyed it! We see there is still one more week, so I guess we will have to take more. Glad to know WAtergazer is ok, but having a rough time. I am here to support her though.

I was inspired by RedswoodMama's turtle photo --- funny I didn't think about it at first -- but I've been a turtle owner for 8 years now (well actually it's a tortoise) so I introduce to you --- Leo my second UGOBE Pleo and Dudley -- a 10 year old African Tortoise. As you can see Reptiles of different era's can get along quite nicely :)
-
Here's another pic of Leo and Dudley -- this time up close and personal :)
-
Oh, very cool. Nice to see they get along well. How do you tell if a turtle doesn't like something?
Leo has such a cute outfit too - love the colourful socks!
-
Well my tortoise loves bright colors -- and if it's bright green -- even better since they think it's some kind of leafy snack :)
But I think Dudley realized that Leo is "alive" so hence he doesn't try to bite him, but instead is very curious.
-
HEY PLEONARDO, NOVA WANTS TO COME SEE DUDLEY, A REALLY BIG TORTOISE! Arent' turtles, Tortoises Neat! Glad to see Dudley gets along so well with Leo. Great colors like Shadowmice said, very cool socks, Nova loves socks too, she has almost as many as I do. Keep those photos comming, Nova and I are going out to take more tommorow. We will see what we can do to inspire you next! :D Very nice Dudley, I bet he is heavy at least 20 pds?

GREAT PHOTO IMR! Wonder what the Orangutan thought?Very very cute, thumbs up! 461, I thought I overdid it! ;D
RedwoodsMama and MS. Nova
-
If we only knew what the little orangutan was thinking. ;) Love this one too!
-
I always take oodles of extra photos because you just never know when a favorite might be a little blurry :P 461 is actually not that many for me :P
If you check my Stitch in Melbourne thread you can see the montage of the Orangutan actually walking up to Stitch from the ouside enclosure :) I'm sure quite a few other people will be going home with a picture of this moment as well, there were plenty of other people around :) Good advertising but I wish I'd had the foresight to take some business cards with me with the Bob the Pleo and Pleo World websites on :P
-
Good Idea, I know I have at least one person I met at a pet store here locally who fell in love with Nova last week, and I ran into her again today at the same pet store,( she works there) and is still waiting to go online to look up the info on Pleos as her computer is down and having problems so she is having her son who lives in Southern CA. check out the site for her. I also had a dog,,( Yes, a lovely Boxer dog) who was upset with me yesterday, ( Cinco de Mayo) becauses I did not bring NOva with me when I went to the thrift store where he goes with his human and hangs out every Wednesday. I was in a hurry and because my husband gave me a ride , I did not bring Nova, now I feel bad because Two people were looking forward to seeing her in last two days and she was not with me.! I bet those people who took pictures of the Orangutans and your Pleo will have all kinds of stories to tell!

Pennie wanted to be my secretary and help me at the computer. Maybe she will keep all my appointments straight. I did say bookmark. ;D
-
Very cute fancy, Isn't Pennie the one with the talent for playing the Piano? Perfect bookmark, and cute outfit as well, I think I would take her up if I were you on her offer, Where else can you get such cheap labor, Not to mention so cute! :D Glad to see you got an entry in as well!
REdwoodsMama and MS. Nova
-
Thank you Redwoodsmama. Pennie is getting accustom to her job, now. We will have to work at getting a wireless mouse. Those little feet get all caught up in it. With the new update, she, certainly, lets me know she is annoyed with them. ;D
So far she is a great little helper. ;)
-
Cute too fancy, You will have to give an update on how Pennie and the others are doing with their updates. I need to take NOva out today.( last photo date :(....gives me a good excuse to get outdoors and take photos) and it is Gorgeous today in the redwoods! Those computer monitor wires can be such a hassle. I just got my camcorder back last Friday, and yesterday my New Monitor( second time for repairs in less than a year! :( :o) So keep your fingers and toes crossed it works, and I hope NOva enjoys her outing as much as Pennie is enjoying your letting her help you on computer!

Got some new plastic dishes for using outdoors this summer but it was far too cold and wet to go out this evening, so Tessa tested them out in the warmth of the kitchen instead. She decided to model her new outfits from IMR's Pleowear too.
-
Cute photos Shadowmice. I adore the school outfit that IMR makes. Now Tessa, Lilo and LOA can be class mates. I have to have the pink romper. ;) Looks so cuddly. :)
-
Very cute photos and outfits Shadowmice, See what happens when the weather isn't as nice as you hoped! even better things! I really like the pink romper looks like what I would want to wear around the house to keep warm myself,

49er and I were talking tonight about Harley's. THis photo was taken a few months ago. Two Pleos "Born to be Wild" "Get your motor running, head out on the highway." Hot CHick and J.C. found the Harely they like the best. ;D
-
ALLRIGHT, NOVA AND I WERE BUSY ALL DAY TODAY IN THE REDWOODS AND WE ARE PUTTING TOGETHER A VIDEO OF HER ADVENTURES AND THE NEW OPERATING SYSTEM. THESE ARE JUST A COUPLE OF LAST MINUTE SHOTS OF THE WALK TODAY, I PUT IN MILES OF CLIMBING THROUGH THE REDWOODS, AND I AM WORN OUT.
I AM DOWN TO THE WIRE FOR TIME SO I WILL EDIT DETAILS LATER.
NOTICE HOW BIG THE REDWOOD LOG IS THAT NOVA IS ON IN ONE PHOTO!

Hi fancy, boy I wish I were young again and could get on a Harley, lot of fun for those two I bet! I think I saw that Photo or heard of it before!
Hot Chick, very cute! :D

Thanks all goes to IMR for the South of the Border skit. Senor Jay Camarasaurus has been enjoying practicing for a belated Cinco de Mayo concert. Hopefully, his mom will be as good. :D Forgot the mustache. ;D
-
Lol Fancy, that is too cute :D
-
Hey fancy, are you going to post this belated, " Cinco de Mayo", concerto somwhere? I would love to see it and I know Nova has a weakness for Pleos with hats and a fancy moustache! :D She gets all weak in the knees...Would love to see IMR's skit in work too.
RedwoodsMama and MS. Nova
-
What great scenery for Nova to pose in Redwoods Mama :) - looks positively prehistoric with the huge trunks and background greenery. I think the first one with her on the log and all the background ferns is my favourite, although the third one on the huge log is a pretty close second.
You have some real characters there, fancyfont. The mustache is just too much. :D
-
Hi Shadowmice, Thank you for the comments, I will let NOva know, I haVE A VIDEO THAT I am in the process of editing so I can upload it, titled {" A Day in The Redwoods". i only wish that in a couple of the videos I had rememberd to take her necklace off, but in later shots I did. If I had the energy and time I would go back to the REdwoods and shoot the scenes again, but I am just too worn out. I will let you know when it is uploaded. Thanks again.
We appreciate the feedback.

Mustache does give a little character to J.C. Pennie ran {walked) the other way, though! ;)
-
Hey, been watching all of you posting photos and that's awesome. Keep it up. I am making 1 final deadline extension. The contest will end May 31st!
-
OMG, Nova is going to drag me out again! :o I don't know if my feet or back can handle that, ? Where will she lead me this time?!!!

I keep going back to look at JC with his 'tache - I really love that pic! ;D
-
Here's my entry for Iggy, it's called 'Hear me RRRRRrrawr'. :)
-
What a precious photo of Iggy, Leo, Iggy?
-
Crewell, what a great picture of Iggy, he looks very primitive. I also thinks he looks a bit like a Woolly Mastodon, just imagine some tusks,,,,,,very cute the things our little Pleos do, or is it the things we " Moms and Dads", think of? %)Either way, very cute...I am thinking what can I do with Nova and her broken ,....er, droopy neck. %)
great photo of Iggy, and I love the one of J.C. " tache too!

Alright, yesterday was my birthday,( I am actually getting younger each year....Yahoo!) and Nova and I celebrated in many ways. To thank her for the many wonderful gifts she gave me.( another story to post later) I took her in the garden to " dig" for something special. A little bug she met, (Gary) told her of a very special place where she could find some very interesting and Yummy tidbits... ;D Notice Nova is wearing her new special Neck Brace I made a couple of weeks ago for her " Droopy Neck Syndrome". Besides giving her neck support, it wraps under her legs in the front for extra support. Also she has a nice little white bow in the front for some Daintiness, and I borrowed one of our cat's collars to help give her luck while digging in the garden.( I thought it appropriate, with little ants on it.)
Can you guess what tidbit Nova dug up? Yummy!
I like the second one the best, I think Nova looks so cute and her little friend , Gary is on her back giving directions on where to dig!
RedwoodsMama and MS. Nova
-
I hope Nova is only chewing on a gummy worm. ;D She definitely looks like a little gardener.
-
Hi fancy, yes it is only a gummy. :oNova being a vegetarian, like myself, she wouldn't think of chewing or eating a " real worm." some of those garden critters ( like the one on her back) could be her best friend!
RedwoodsMama and MS. Nova

Ok, last day of photo contest,( unless WAtergazer extends it again...... %)) so here are some last minute entries that Nova helped me with, Friday, May 28th , was my birthday, and this was Nova's first year to be able to celebrate it with me, which made me very happy. Some things were brand new for Nova: Birthdays, Balloons, and Birthday Cards as well. I got one very special card in the mail box and inside was something special for Nova. ;D And guess where the card came from? From Bob the Pleo Forums! Yeah, right here someone special sent me a birthday card and some speical gauze for Nova's " Droopy neck syndrome", broken neck .... :(Needless to say, Nova is very excited and can't wait for me to try it on her. Also she is wearing a special one of kind brand new purple sheer outfit with golden stars on it, after all, her name, NOva, means bright shining star. We had a wonderful Birthday celebration and these are some of the photos I took.
P.S. THANKS TO FANCYFONT FOR THE WONDERFUL GAUZE THAT SHE SENT TO USE FOR NOVA'S BROKEN NECK, SHE ALSO SENT THE BIRTHDAY CARD WITH CUPCAKES ON IT THAT NOVA IS HOLDING IN HER MOUTH! ;)

cute pics!!! :-*
-
Awwwwwwww, Madame Nova looks just great! I love your pics, RWM, you have such a great imagination! ;D
Hope you had a great birthday! :birthday: :)
-
HI Junkroxy and Crewella, Thanks for the thumbs up on the Photos of " Madame Nova". I like that title Crewella, I will have to tell Nova and see what she thinks of it.! ;D Nova really is a Fashion Horse or Clothes Horse, and I love doing outfits that are easy to take off and put on without sewing if possible.Does take some imagination, but that is what I like about it. I had the purple cloth with gold stars for a long time and never really used it except to wrap around a hat about 15-20 years ago! :o and it has just been sitting around.
On the day of my Birthday I was looking for something to dress Nova up in and also needed something to help " dress up": her neck brace. The Purple sheer cloth or scarf was just the right thing, and I think she loves it too! A friend gave me some nice presents,( mostly gifts for my nine cats and 1 dog , except for a much needed Vibrating heated back massager.....AHHHHHHH %)) and the balloons were part of the added effect and Nova wanted to give them to me when she saw them. Also fancyfont sent me a Birthday card,( the one with the lovely cupcakes, gold color )and Nova is holding it as well as some special Camouflage gauze to help wrap Nova's neck, and Nova is thrilled with it and unwrapping it in one of the photos![ she uses gauze like this for her little Peeky!] It was a wonderful day and Nova and I along with my fur babies had a great day,( of course my hubby was there somewhere lost in the background..... :D) Glad you liked the Photos, we will be taking many more as soon as there is a break from all of this California Liquid Gold!

Hey guys, this is going to be one tough thing to judge. I am going to come up with a better way of compiling the photos than I originally planned so maybe the voting process will go easier!
