Gino doesn't seem to be walking forward anymore, only backwards.
I updated him to the new version the first day, but because of the dodgy battery it ran out of juice and the update crashed. It seemed ok the days afterwards, but I haven't seen him walk forwards for quite a while and he constantly gets stuck walking backwards.
Should I downgrade back to the original version (then back up again)?
I got some new Innov batteries (and also some of the grey batteries and Egg charger) and it's much better than the 20min I got with the original battery.
Cheers

Try holding both front leg sensors for a little while (you may have to try it a couple of times, Pleo doesn't always pay attention ;)) this should put Pleo into explore mode and he should walk forwards. If Gino still insists on going backwards then sadly yup you may need to try the downgrade.

Hi Maui,
Yes, do try what IMOR suggested. Also, check the lighting in the area. I noticed that at my house (where the lighting is dim), Trojan doesn't move around as much, and he'll very rarely move around at all even. However, at my grandma's house (where it's really bright), he'll walk around all over the place!

All my pleos insisted on walking backwards at first. IMR is right though, you should try that.
Now my two newest ones will move forward, but neither of them have an upgrade at all. Leaving them alone for a while will sometimes get them exploring. :)

Ok, thanks for the suggestions. Gino started to walk forwards again, but I do think something went wrong with the upgrade, because he just kept running into things instead of going around them, and I think he has damaged his neck doing so. He'd run into an object then keep trying to go forward, and he found him after leaving him alone to explore, with his neck at right angles and still trying to go forward! There was a permanent kink in his neck and he never seemed to be able to straighten it (or us it, gently).
I've just downgraded and then back upto 1.1 again, and we're just waiting to see how he develops again. His neck is a little starighter and he can look forward, but never to the right. He seems more aware of his surroundings this time though, and he's not too keen on slippery wooden floors!
Cheers

The stuff he's bumping into... or was bumping into... Is it dark? Because I think Pleo has a hard time seeing some things. For example, mine always bumps into black things or really dark things. lol. My boyfriend has this really dark brown wooden table and he always bumps into that :p

No, not really. When I decided to downgrade, he was in a well lit room, and he was insisting on going through a large cardboard box, almost breaking his neck!
Afterwards he seemed to know to move around objects, though he still seemed to keep trying to back into a wall. Does Pleo have sensors "back there" to prevent this?

Pleo can just be plain stubborn sometimes :P If he spies any daylight when double checking the first "detected object' signal then he may try to push :P And nope theres no camera etc in his rump ;)

You can order new batteries and chargers from PleoWorld.com (Innvo Labs), or you can order the Li-Poly white battery & egg charger from holidayprojectors.com (see his store front "Pleo Power (http://bobthepleo.com/forums/index.php?action=pages;sa=6)" in our online mall (http://bobthepleo.com/forums/index.php?action=pages)).
