Title: Micro Sd card help
Post by: attisaur on August 12, 2012, 07:02:13 AM
I wanted to use probeRB to look at how my pleo is feeling but i don't know if i have the right micro sd because i can't find the place you insert it. A kind person on the forums told me its in the battery compartment but i don't see any place is it all the way at the bottom or on the sides. sorry if this sounds stupid i just want to know before i tired to stick a sd card in a non relevant crevice in the battery compartment.

Ok I have my RB on his back and I *think* it is in the battery compartment on the side wall closest to the head. So take the battery out and look in the compartment for the sloy that is high up on the side closest to Pleos head. I think that is it, I have never used the SD slot though so I'm not sure how to opperate it sorry.

Thank you it has to be that since it the only thing i can see that you could put a sd card in. Now i wish i knew what sd card to use.

Everybody else seems to use 2GB ones. I don't think brand matters as long as it is 2GB or less.

There is a USB port in the RB battery compartment, but sadly there is no way to fit both the USB cord and the battery in at the same time, so the RB cannot run as it is.

The slot for the card is near the top of the battery compartment on one of the narrower ends.  You hold the RB upside down and put the card in with the little ridge facing upwards (so you can grip the ridge with a thumbnail)  ...... it's easier if the card slot is closest to you so you can slide the card in with finger and thumb.

If that makes any sense?  :moose:

Just noticed a couple of replies here that mention that the SD needs to be 2GB or less, Ive just ordered a 10GB one XD does it make any difference or do people have problems with anything over 2GB? *worry*

Can you cancel your order? It may be too big for Pleo to read. The files are only a few meg, a large card is a little superfluous even if it does work.

I just use what I have on hand and after using it can erase the files and use it again, I just used a 16 gb micro SD card for STATS RB with  no problem, If you have a smaller one and want to use it over and over, I would just look for a smaller one, I only used the 16 gb one cause I take photos constantly and it was on sale at Staples for a price less than the 4 gb, such a good deal I couldn't pass it up.              RWM

Thank you for the replies :) I cant cancel the order now as it has been posted ^^; so I will give it a try and see what happens. The micro SD included an adaptor so that it can easily be plugged into a PC.
