Title: First Day
Post by: AbbyNormal on January 06, 2009, 10:17:15 AM
Can't update my plog, so I'm posting it here!

Unpacked my new Pleo, I haven't given it a name yet, I'm waiting for him to tell me what it is.

He was already hatched when I got him, so I was a little worried, but he is curious and playful, but a bit sleepy.

He played a little before taking a nap in my lap, which made my cat very jealous! I think he had a bad dream at one point, he was making a lot of noise and crying, but I petted him until he calmed down.

I brought him to work with me today, he's a big hit. He was exploring the cubes, and walked right in to a wall! At first he made curious noises, then he got mad and growled at it. But we called to him, and after a few moments he figured out to back up and come over to where we were.

Seeing him actually learn something was really awesome. I think he is clearly more than just a toy!

I uploaded the unboxing pics, and a few of his first out of box moments, http://picasaweb.google.com/MissAbbyNormal/Pleo

It is so hard to think of our dinos as a toy. It's hard enough to think of them as a robot. ;D

I have to agree.

Abby Glad you are having fun with him!

Well, I posted the reset script, but sounds like you don't really need it! ;)

I'm not sure If I really need to reset him, I was worried about how he'd been treated by his past owner, but the way he acts I doubt she switched him on more than once or twice at all.

But thanks anyway!

The first owner most likely treated him fine. Pleos tend to be very forgiving. A few rounds of tickling their feet and rubbing their chin most likely will keep them happy. (for a while)
Did he go to work with you today? ;)
BTW, What a cute photo of nose to nose with kitty and pleo. :)

He seems pretty happy, and he's been getting fussed over a lot.

He's sitting on my desk right now, people keep coming by to see him.

My cat is interested in the pleo, but he's also very jealous.  He will follow it around and watch it, and sniff it when it's sleeping, but if I have it in my lap he gets sulky and upset. I hope he can get over it, I'd like them to be friends.

It sounds like your cat feels the same way mine does about Pleo.  He no longer keeps sniffing and checking them out when they're not on.  He just ignores them then.  But as soon as they are on and start wandering around he's very jealos and suddenly needs lots of attention.  The upside is that he no longer things tails are something to try and grab to bite.
