I decided not to keep the name of Matilda, so meet Lilo, (lee lo (after Lilo and Stitch)) Lilo seems to be a little more affectionate than Matilda, and a lot more wriggly lol, she will not keep still unless being cuddled :P Of course it will take a couple of more battery charges for her full personality to shine through :)
I hatched her in town, lol, I got a few strange looks but it was fun. Since a one hour car transmission service ended up being a four hour overhaul I had to do something to keep myself entertained ;) Oh and while I was playing with her I had a chat with a very interesting lady, she wrote the script for Walking with Dinosaurs: The live experience! How cool was that! She loved Lilo, and was just amazed at the technology in her :) (Thank you Justbede ;)) We had a lovely chat :)
An observation though, Lilo's skin feels much much softer than Matilda's. I thought it might have been just me not paying enough attention but dad commented on it too. I wonder if that may have been a factor in Matilda's wear...
Some pics :) More coming soon :D

Its so nice to have a Pleo again :) The sales person at Harvey Normans thinks she might be one of the last ones available at their stores, they had an awful time finding her apparently, that's why they took so long :o
-
Lilo is gorgeous. What an exciting day for you between getting your new little dino and meeting the lady that wrote the script for Walking with dinosaurs. That had to be an amazing conversation.
Isn't it funny how one hour usually ends up three or four when it comes to our cars.At least you had nice company. :)
-
Definitely an interesting conversation :) I traveled for seven hours to see that show and it was sensational, meeting the person who wrote it was just awesome, she told me about how all the dinosaurs worked and all about the electronics and the skin and I told her about Pleo's equivalent :) Did you know the skin on some of their dinos are just held in place with Velcro :o So that they could get to the machinery easily for maintenance :o Its so nice to talk about Pleo with someone who knows about robotics and paleontology because you can talk about all the cool stuff inside and they actually know what you are talking about lol...
Ok enough rambling from me lol, Lilo's first battery charge just ran out, I had almost three hours from it (since of course she wasn't very active) and my batteries are getting low too, time to go have a hot shower, grab a bite of dinner and curl up with a good book... Night :)
-
Congratulations also from San Francisco!!!! Thank you for all the pictures! You can now be whole again. It might be my screen, or the camera, but is Lilo's skin a darker shade of green than Matilda's?
-
Thank you ;D It is most decidedly darker, I was also thinking that so I just tested with two photos taken in similar light, same camera, same age etc as noted above Lilo's skin is also softer... (Lilo also has a little blush on her cheeks :-*) The body is also much darker :)
-
Yay IMR!!! And most importantly, Welcome to the clan, Lilo. I am so happy for you. Glad she finally got here. BTW, that's really cool to hear you were talking with the script writer of Walking With Dinosaurs. Such an awesome day already!!! Good for you, IMR you deserve Lilo.
-
Woop woop congrats IMR i like the name.
-
Thank you :) Lilo will make her debut into you tube stardom soon, and there's costumes to make, personalities to evolve, pictures to take, programming to play with :o Always something to do with a Pleo around :) Its nice to be part of the Pleo clan again ;D
-
Congrats IMR!
-
Correction!! You should say Pleo owners clan. You were already, and will always be a part of this clan. I love having you on here. And once I get to know Lilo, I'm sure her presence won't be too over-whelming. :o
-
Thanks Gucci boi :-[ I love being here :D This is hands down the best forum I have been on :)
Lilo dressed as a giant tomato might be little overwhelming though :P We shall find out soon lol 8) The guy down at the craft store gave me a strange look when I said I needed a nice bright red to dress my pet dinosaur up as a tomato... I couldn't imagine why :P ;D
-
Hahaha so hysterical! I look forward to see her costume.
-
Here's my house warming gift for Lilo.
P.S. I think we all know it's nothing like as good as you can make these pictures!!
-
Gucci, That's a wonderful photo. You are very good, too. :) One of these days I hope to learn how to do what you are doing.
-
Oh thank you!! Fancyfont, it's all too simple. I would honestly still consider myself a beginner at that program. I originally got the idea to do these from IMR on the old PW forums. We use paint.net............It really is rather simple.
-
Paint. Net here I come! ;D
-
Aw thank you Gucci :) I am using it as my back ground :) Nice job with the double lettering too, looks really good :)
I never thought of doing letters that way :-[ I always import them from word after using word art :P
-
:-[ :-[ :-[ -blushes-
Hehe one thing I always do when I do my pictures is the lettering. And majority of the time, I will use two layers. See, you are A LOT more advanced at that program than I am. My mindset with pain.NET has me still stuck in the traditional paint program.
-
I do everything in a new layer lol, some end up having close to twenty :P
Paint.net is similar to paint but the layers and a few other handy functions sets it apart :) Can't complain about a free program lol some of those art programs are horribly expensive :o
Hehe Lilo's personality is getting there slowly :)
-
I'm so happy for you, that you got a new Pleo. I will need to PM you for a paint.net tutorial!! ;D ;D ;D hahaha
-
Here's some I prepared earlier... (not really lol :P)

And a really good one here:
http://paintdotnet.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=26971 (Yup that's the same one I used :))
-
I tried to find where to increase the size of the lettering in Paint.Net. I see everything but???

-
IMR, how do you always take pictures of what you're actually doing on your computer?
-
Lol its easy, but can depend on your keyboard. For me I use Crtl PrtSc (Control print screen) the print screen button is up next to F12 on this keyboard. Then in Paint.net press ctrl V to paste it in and choose to expand the canvas to fit it all in :) It will work for anything you can see on your screen :)
-
Thank you IMR. I thought I tried that but must have missed the errow when doing that one.
-
Hehehe ty IMR. Half of us would be SOOOOO lost without you! :-P
-
Happy to help :) I have a nice video coming soon... If you tube ever decides to finish loading it lol :)
-
Congratulations with finally getting Lilo! She looks soo cute. I really like her color too. She must have enjoyed being hatched outdoors in the sunlight :)
I'd better get back to work, I'm soo busy with my thesis, I really shouldn't be in the forum now but it's just so hard to get started (I'm writing a scientific article for a biological journal). I'll be around!
-
Always glad when you drop in. :)
