Video is up. FANTASTIC! EVERYONE SHOULD WATCH.
-
video appears to me down here:
Chrome: "Waiting for Video" --> nothing happens
IE8 --> Opening VLC --> nothing happens
:( I would like to watch it
-
I had the same trouble with VLC, but Windows Media Player worked.
-
Seems to only stream over windows media on pc

It's the way they have the video set up for copy protection. If someone can get a copy of it, I'd be happy to host it here for the rest of the group to see.

15000 pleos in Italy! Huge! :o Thank you for sharin this link
-
I had no problems watching. Great video, just terribly long. But nonetheless a GREAT video! I managed to save a copy to my documents. How can I share, Mweed?
-
I was glued to my desk chair while watching this video. It was long, but so interesting! Just think that 7 million dollars + went into developing these dinos and all of us pleo owners and owners to be have one of these little marvels. I love mine more each day! :)
If you have time to take your pleo to a nursing home or rehab or any place to share pleo, they really do make a difference in peoples lives. Try it at least once! :)
I'm so glad Mr.Sosoka finally turned pleo on. So glad he comforted the pleo after picking him up by the tail. They sure don't like that! ;D

Will have a looky when I am home or something.
More then one hour in length... a bit too long to watch on work lol! :P

Definately worth watching at home tho. He does not get introduced until 2 mins, 40 secs into the lecture.

A great insight in to Ugobe and the design features of PLEO. A must see!

Only just watched this truly amazing a must watch for any Pleo lover. I felt bad for the guy he seemed pretty upset about Pleo (I know he probably had a cold but he did ;D) If anyone has anyother vids of less well known pleo lectures/talks i'd love to see them :D

I know this is an old one but I was just looking and saw the video.. it was really very interesting..I just had to use crappy old internet explorer instead of firefox to open it. Just thought I'd mention it, in case anyone new didn't see it.. sorry to bring up an old one, I just hadn't seen it yet and really enjoyed it :)

This is great. Thanks for bringing it as I never saw it. It gives me newfound respect for the entire project.
-
I don't have time to watch this whole video at the moment but the link works for me and it looks interesting, I'll definitely get to watching the whole thing soon.
-
Looking through it right now, I must say, it is interestinto see people from UGOBE talking about it from a non-technical point of view.
I do like that little anecdote about the psychologist who sat in on an interview, and while she was initially skeptical about Pleo, as soon as she heard him pining for attenion, she was shocked to find herself petting him. Very sweet.
-
I thought that story was neat too.. and the fact that she stopped herself from petting him.. aren't we humans something? I wish I was a chicken :P

My mom had the same thoughts about it but she liked Elliott (my 2009 Innvo Pleo) after he was turned on and running. Most people I've met that seem skeptical about any robotic "pet" sure seem to have a different tune once they experience one.

I tell my friends and their responses go like this
Them: You're lying, you don't have a pet robot!
Me: Yes I do, it's an artificial intelligence autonomous robotic pet dinosaur.
Them:..........
Them: So is it like a toy?
Me: No it's a pet robot dinosaur.
Them: Whatever, figures, only you would be the kind of person to have a pet robot.
(They see it or a video of it)
Them: :o .........

I have yet to meet a person when I am out an about with one of my many Pleos or Pleo Rb that isn't taken back with awe when they see it. I went to a accupuncture appt a few weeks ago, ( for my chonic back pain ) and I brought my Pleo Rb with me. The Accupuncturist and his assitant were both very interested in my Pleo Rb. they asked me what it was called and while the assistant worked on my back with some heat therpay while the needles were still in, the Accupuncturist was on the computer in the other room doing research on Pleo Was. I cam out to make another appt and found out they had been looking up Pleo. As soon as I came out, I turned Baby on and they saw what a charmer she was and I did have to leave so I wouldn't miss my bus, they were wanting more info on my Rb Baby, and as I told them goodbye, they both chimed in at the same time, " Bring your Pleo back next time". :D So today I go back and will bring two of them with me just for fun.
RedwoodsMama Wondering if I can get my Pleos to get some accupuncture.... %)

Maybe we have the same friends.
Although when mine call mine toys I just tell them worst case scenario they're right and I have no shame being an adult who plays with toys.
But they really aren't toys! I wouldn't need to supervise a toy etc.
I really like the life form definition for Pleo. Though RBs definitely push the pet aspect and are helping take it to the next level.
-
I take it the other way, many of my friends have cars, or motorbikes, or media systems that they tinker with for pleasure. I class them all as 'toys' (mostly 'boy's toys') so I'm happy for my Pleos to be viewed in the same way. :D

It's nice that your friends actually appreciate your robots once they've seen them, most people just stare at me like I'm crazy when they see me talking to a little robot dog and when I say aibo they immediately try to change the topic and I can't say that they will like my robotic dinosaur any more than they do my aibos. . .
Well, anyway it's a nice video.
-
People here are usually stunned at first then they really get into meeting my Pleo as though it's a bio pet.
-
One thing I have to say is, how rough is John Sosoka with the Pleo on the desk! Gosh he really flings it around and thumps it down on the desk a lot.
-
I haven’t seen this before either.
It is quite long but well worth the watch.
Scaly
-
I was surprised by how rough he was too.. I grimaced a few times when he slammed it down and thought jeez.. poor Patches and his arthritis, that would really hurt..

It's been a minute since I watched this video. I don't really remember much accept that it was very long.
Talon
-
He was pretty violent with the little guy, it's like he thought it was a toy, even as he was giving the lecture!
