Title: Pleo Rb reliability
Post by: elmeupleo on May 16, 2014, 02:30:51 AM
We bought a Pleo Rb 3 months ago. We don’t know if we have had bad luck and our case has been a simply coincidence:

The first Pleo had a problem in the neck after 3 weeks of use. We sent it to the Europe Customer Service and they sent a new one in a few days. Excellent customer service. Congratulations.

We learnt the skin painting is very weak and we decided to play with the second only wearing the cape and we handled her with much care, but after 6 or seven weeks of use one leg failed.  This week we sent Pleo to the customer service. Yesterday we received a new one. We mourn the loss of this Pleo, but again excellent customer service.

Is our experience frequent and Pleo Rb reliability isn’t what it should be?.
We are very worried. We had plans to buy a new Pleo and have a couple but now I am not sure.

We've seen both on this forum.  Some members have had their Pleo RB for a couple of years no with no problems, and some have had experiences similar to yours.  I guess it can be just the luck of the draw.  :moose:

I have four RB's working just fine, and had one that had to be returned, it is likely some batches were slightly defective or more prone to certain problems :(

Remember that Pleo's have over 400 custom parts, that's four hundred places that could cause problems. There's maybe three or four of those parts that are responsible for the most common problems, that's disconnected wires, neck cables and skin.
