Title: Dinomite download
Post by: cycletronic on April 27, 2009, 06:12:03 PM
Hello,

I just barely got a pleo (like, 2 hours ago), and I'm trying to scavenge all of the development resources I can.

Right now the dinomite site (http://www.bauerindependents.com/SUBMAIN/dinomite.htm (http://www.bauerindependents.com/SUBMAIN/dinomite.htm)) is down, and it has the feel of being down for good.  I'm not sure, since I only checked today, so it might be back tomorrow, but it just looks gone.

Does anyone have a copy of dinomite lying around that can be uploaded or sent to me?  I would appreciate it.

Hi Cycltronic,
Welcome to the community!  I have a copy of Dino-Mite, but haven't used it for quite a while.  I checked all over and all sites point to Bauer Independents who's site as you said is down.  To run the software you will need the registration code from Bauer.  I no longer have it and thus can't run it myself.  Dino-Mite is more of a diagnostic tool as far as I'm concerned.  Those who use it regularly can give you a better evaluation.  If you're interested in doing some programing of your Pleo, have you checked on YAPT, http://www.aibohack.com/pleo/yapt.htm or MySkit, http://www.dogsbodynet.com/myskit/index.html.  For help with MySkit, check out this thread by InmemoryofRomeo.  http://bobthepleo.com/forums/index.php?topic=211.0.  I hope you find some of this useful as programing is not in my bailewick.

Eeek!  it is down.  Well, the whole domain is down, not just the pleo stuff . . . .

I just sent an email to the guy that wrote it.  But I'm not sure he'll get it since his site is down . . .  :(

Hi,

Yeah, I have Myskit and YAPT also, and it's the diagnostic part of dinomite that I want it for :)

I have a copy of Dino-MITE. I uploaded it to my website so all of you can download it.
However...
I don't have the registration code anymore. We really need to make this a new priority in the Pleo Dev community QUICK before many resources of Pleo are lost forever.

Here is my new link to download Dino-MITE: http://rebornspirit.com/Dino-MITE_Package_v1_0_2.zip

WE NEED THE REGISTRATION CODE!
ANybody?
Mweed? Anybody? ;)

Thanks for posting this.  It's at least good to read the manual.

The wayback machine doesn't have pages since dinomite was released, only prior to it. :(

Thank you CleosDad! Your code worked for me too!
I will leave my copy of the program up for 1 year on rebornspirit.com so everyone can get a copy.
mweed, feel free to copy the program and post on your site.
Bobthepleo.com needs to be the new central location for all things pleo. ;)

No prob Taoworm. I had high hopes we'd see a PDK before Ugobe went under.
Thanks to Bauer for coding Dinomite, but I really wanted to dig into the camera and try some object recognition/tracking. Kinda thinking about selling Cleo here. I'd like to see her in a good home.

I wouldn't sell her if I was you...

I was able to install Dino-MITE using the registration code 1312020-8523-2121518.

I entered the name of my PLEO and his serial number.  I checked the Device Manager and noted that he was connected to COM 14; but when I tried to open that port, it wouldn't open and the dinosaur icon stayed red, instead of turning green.  I couldn't find anything in the User's Instructions to help me get around this problem.  Can anyone help me with this?

Install the Updater (for 32bit XP and Vista only!)

the updater includes the USB driver for PLEO

My problem is similar - Little Jim connects through Com29 (USB) and the Dino-Mite instructions simply say, if the comm port is higher than 17, free up ports until Pleo connects at 16 or less.  But it doesn't tell you how to free up ports.  There are only ten or so usb things connected to the PC and I've tried connecting Jim to a USB on the motherboard rather than a hub, but it makes no difference.  He always uses Com29.

Any ideas how to 'free up' ports? ???
