Title: Spin master's making Indominus rex
Post by: PWOKristy on July 17, 2015, 10:54:05 PM
Hello,

What's up? What's going on? How's everyone been doing?

They're gonna make an Indominus rex version of their Boomer dino.

Kristy.

I'm not sure what to think of this. I don't know whether to love or hate it.

Ooookay. I'm not likely to buy but cool concept. One thing I can say for Spinmaster is they have wonderful customer service people. The Zoomer 2.0 I purchased for Christmas broke in February and they were very helpful in resolving my problem.

Can I just say the thing looks hideous in real life. The plastic outer shell is either poorly coloured or terribly thin because I could see this weird pinkish colour showing through.

It honestly looks hideous to me regardless....

To me it is a" TOY" aimed at children, I can't see adults interacting or Playing with this for more then ten seconds. The only cool thing I like at all, is the fact the eyes change colors and the shape, but after awhile, I think it will look more like a light show, and I would not want one of these even for free.

I can see children liking this and that is the audience it is aimed at.. There is just no comparison to a Pleo or Pleo rB. Caleb Chung is brilliant and got Pleo , Pleo Rb perfect and yes I am not talking about the skin problems etc, but the fact it is a baby, you want to protect it, and it hits that mothering nerve, you have to care for Pleo .. Can you imagine if a Pleo roared like these other "toys" and zoomed around on roller balls, just not my cup of tea.
Pleo Rb is as close to life like as I have seen, and yes it does not compare robot wise to Aibo, in what it can do, but for a loveable baby Camasaurus, it hits the mark. I would not have two dozen of these if I did not love them.. just my impression of this "toy".    I would not buy one for my grandchildren . unless they begged me, I can think of better dinosaur robotics that are toys.               RWM  :cat-hug:

Very well said, RWM. The original zoomer or whatever was cute, and a cool TOY. But I don't want a toy. I want a pet. :)

Nilyon, exactly what you will get or as close to it with a Pleo, not this "toy"          RWM  :cat-hug:

I have a Zoomer Dino, and it is pretty cool, the kids at school adore him. But there's not a lot of substance to them. They zip around and do a couple of party tricks and that's it. There's barely any AI and no personality.

I would like the Indominous for my collection, but I don't know if I'm willing to pay the $150 for the Indominous vs $100 for the original. (Aussie dollars) especially when it looks so bad.
