i bought my daughter a Pleo several years ago (Ugobe). She was probably too young at the time. She is now older and interested in getting pleo back. It has sat on the shelf inactive for at least two years. I charged the battery and inserted it into Pleo. It made a snoring sound but that is all. I have ordered a new battery as I assume that this one is bad. I have also downloaded PM 2.0 and will upgrade the firmware when the new battery gets here. Is there anything else that I should be thinking about or doing?
Thank you in advance!

No that's it :) Be sure to run your Pleo through a full battery charge before recharging it again and doing the upgrade. Just to be sure everything is working :)

Thank you very much!

imr, does the snoring possibly mean that the battery is really, really low? my nyan's battery did it when i tried to charge her on a broken charger for a few minutes and put it in her in hopes of getting her into packing position.

It means not enough power is getting to the Pleo. Whether by under charged or faulty battery gives the same result.

GREAT!!! i didn't want a repeat of last time :-[ at least i know that a low battery wasn't the problem last time, i had a green light

Just a suggestion to invest in the 2009 Innvo Labs reconditioning charging cradle..Will find out today if it reconditioned my Ugobe batteries.
It works by forcing the battery to accept the charge for 16 hours...That is unless the cells(?) haven't went kaputs. If so, then, well you're SOL. Sorry, and best of luck either way! =)

As Gucci says, the recondition setting puts the battery through a long, slow discharge/charge cycle - the discharge bit is as important as the charge.
Hope the new battery does the trick. ;D
