Title: Good-bye, Dallas. You will be missed.
Post by: gucci_boi7782 on February 15, 2009, 02:07:59 PM
I have a 12yo autistic cousin with severe mental and emotional handicaps. Everytime he comes over he goes crazy with Sophie and Dallas. He really loves them. Earlier this week, my aunt was ordered to keep Ashton (my cousin) in a crazy house. The whole family is really devestated. So, I decided it would be good for Dallas to go and spend some time with Ashton for a while. It upsets me not to have Dallas around anymore, but I know he'll do a lot of good for Ashton. If anything, just keep the poor boy a little busy. I regret saying this but, I would also like to have Dallas re-hatched. I remember there was a post about it on here some odd time ago. However, I'm not really the brightest when it comes to computers. What all do I need to do to re-hatch Dallas for Ashton?

Thanks guys.

Dallas may be gone but not forgotten I'm sure. You are doing a wonderful thing.

I think your cousin will love Dallas just the way he is. There was an article in Pleoworld about a young autistic boy that responded to a pleo in a restaurant. The story was truly amazing.
The fact that Dallas will more then likely help your cousin and his family is such a noble thing for you to do.
I sincerely believe these little dinos can do what some people believe to be impossible.

Oh yeah I definitely agree. It is my hopes it will help Ashton mature, and learn responsibilities. My aunt adopted Ashton when he was 5 and has since been a really big part of my life. (My aunt tells me he always calls him his 'brother') But giving Dallas to Ashton is something I have wanted to do for a while. I really think it would be for the better for Ashton. Thank you ladies. Does anyone know exactly how to re-hatch?

What program is Dallas running on now. On 1.1 update I noticed they re hatch a little before they are truly active. There have been some post on re hatching. Check back on the forum. Don't know if anyone has had success.

What do you mean by that? He has been upgraded. I'm not really tech smart, but I think that would be 1.1, right?

1.1 was the last one. Each of my two newer dinos went through a little re-hatching when I first turned them on. They came with 1.1 already programmed into them. They completed re-hatching faster then Peeky did when he was new and had the original o.s. in him. Both did a quick re-hatch.

Oh, okay thank you. So you did the SD card re-hatch program? I still haven't done it, I want to wait as long as possible, you know? But anyway, thank you.

My last two pleos already came with 1.1. I didn't have to do anything but turn them on. Neither one came with the original os that Peeky had. Penelopie is a reincarnated Peeky, but she didn't look at all like him. There's only one Peeky ;) So I understand why she had 1.1 already installed. Most likely J.C was programmed before he came to be with me.
Both did take some time waking up and walking but soon they were able to sing and play like Peeky.

So is Dallas Ashton's now, or is he just visiting for a long time?

Have you heard how Dallas is doing with Ashton? Have they become buddies?

Sorry it took me so long guys, been real busy with work. Ashton loves having his own Pleo. Dallas and Ashton hit it off great! All of the kids in Ashtons 'home' think Pleos are awesome. (My aunt even mentioned to me that one of his nurses is getting her son one now!) As far as I am aware the boys are having fun. Ashton is *slowly* learning that if he wants to play with Dallas he has to charge him. That's his only problem, the nurses majority of the time have to charge Dallas for him. So, sometimes after school, he has to go a night w/o Dallas. But they're doing good. They both came home Sunday to see my aunt, but I could only speak with him on the phone. Hehe I'll see how much damage Dallas has next week or so. :-) good thing he has a warranty!
