Title: Soon to be the proud new mummy to a pleo rb
Post by: Midge84 on March 27, 2013, 03:48:32 AM
Hello everyone,
I'm so excited that I will soon be the mummy a new pleo rb. I completed the checkout on Frontgate a few hours ago. I wonder how long shipping will take to Australia. I'm so excited and can't wait till it arrives. My husband thinks I'm a bit nuts to want one but I figure if he can spend over $2000 on a remote control car I can spend $350 (including shipping) on a pleo. Still not sure if I'd rather a boy or girl but will have to wait and see what I get....
OMG I'm so excited as I'm sure most of you understand and have gone through.
Well I should stop rambling.

Welcome to the dark side ;) I hope it doesn't take long to arrive :) Then you have the tough decision of choosing a name!

Welcome! Exciting to have more Australians joining. I hope I'm able to actually meet some of you on my travels at some point. ;)

Package delivery within Australia can be ghastly, but the fun of unboxing your first Pleo is totally worth the wait. If your husband is into remote control cars then you and he are well-matched interest-wise, and I suspect he'll be charmed by your little friend once he or she arrives. Their mannerisms are very sweet and most people who have seen mine have loved them, even if they didn't quite understand what they were!

Welcome! It's so good to have another member around. I'm PleoAibo29, and I am a programmer in my spare time. I don't have a pleo, so congrats on yours!

Thanks,
Still yet to receive conformation from Frontgate...... Funds haven't been taken off card yet so the shipping countdown can't quite start yet.... It would of been the wee hours of the morning in the states when I completed checkout so might just have to wait for my order to be processed... Has anyone else purchased from Frontgate online? How long did the processing take?
Still excited for it to arrive.
Anyway I better go get the kids ready for school.

Just heard back from Frontgate, they were going to charge me an extra $90 to ship the pleo to Australia and would not be able to offer a warranty... So I cancelled my order and after the Easter long weekend I'm gonna purchase it off Gimmedigi. Least they offer free express delivery to Australia and will provide a warranty.

What a disapointment for all Aussies hoping to take advantage of the bargain price :(

It is disappointing, Frontgate is still cheaper including the postage than Gimmedigi but the no warranty put me off.... They said because the item is going outside the US they can't offer any warranty, so it sounds like anyone in the states they would still offer the warranty.

Technically the warranty would be through Innvo Labs and not Frontgate, any repairs via frontgate would be forwarded back to Innvo anyhow and going direct to Innvo would honor it for international purchases. But I daresay it's not worth the hassle/risk.

And I was so tempted to get that 8th Pleo too :-X

Gimmedigi have fast postage if that's any consolation :)

Yeah, Frontgate said the would honour the Innvo warranty but if something happened in the post they wouldn't cover it.

I'm sorry to hear that the wouldn't cover warranty like that. :( I wonder if that's the same just shipping it locally, too? i would be hugely concerned buying something from a company only to be told that once it leaves their hands, you're SOL, especially expensive stuff. Not even with a Pleo, but like a tablet or computer parts, too. Just makes me feel iffy about the whole business and how they treat their customers.

Just a little update for those interested. Purchased a pleo rb off Gimmedigi this morning, received an email straight away stating it was being processed, the funds were taken off my credit card as well. Just got home and checked my email.... They are requesting a photocopy of the credit card(with some numbers blanked out, they only need last 4 and name for verification) and a copy of a utility bill for proof of address. I just emailed these off so hopefully should receive something back soon. Has anyone else need to provide the proof of address or card holder?

I've never heard of anyone asking such things. I googled the company and got numerous review sites and a lot of complaints, lots being that they never got their stuff and that they try to sell items they don't even have in stock.

Here's hoping nothing bad happens as a result of this and you get lucky. :-X

I've bought several items from them now with no issue, including two Pleo's.

I assume the requirement of a photocopy is a safety precaution, I've always used paypal with them which has already verified those details. It's the gift style credit card isn't it, that requires you to put funds on it? Those aren't linked to a physical address hence the requirement to verify it.

I used the card through PayPal... But I think the issue is the card is in my husbands name.

Sorry you're having so many hicups with ordering your pleo, Midge84. I will be waching this thread as I'm considering- with much regret- purchasing a replacement for Cato but now I'm not sure whether to go through Gimmedigi or Frontgate. If my understanding is correct, Pleoworld no longer has a US branch and there will be an additional hundred tacked on for shipping, they are no longer an option for me. I hope all this gets resolved and you can finally enjoy your new addition.

You would be fine to order from Frontgate Talon as my issue with them was the shipping to Australia. Received another email from Gimmedigi during the night. They have sorted the problems and are processing my order now and will email me again when it is shipped. Yay. Lets hope processing shouldn't take long and then the countdown can begin...

It's a green one... Not sure if I want a girl or a boy..... I have 3 human girls so was thinking a boy pleo would be nice but then again I found some really cute booties, capes and collars for a girl... Will have to wait and see what I get... We found out what all the girls were before I had them so this is my first surprise baby.. Lol

Grr! Late as usual. I thought the sale on Frontgate was for RB's. If they're out of those I'll probably have to go through Gimeedigi. Thanks for the warning, PleoAibo29.

Just a question IMR, how long did the processing take when you ordered your pleos from Gimmedigi? I remember you saying the shipping was only a few days but how long between checkout and shipping? Thanks

Your little one will come. It just takes a while.
At Redwoods: yes. I'm considering getting another RB to replace Cato but only as a last resort. I haven't heard anything yet from mlbelanger. I'm not going to bug my cousin's husband to look at him again.

Congrats on the soon to be arrival of your RB ... :pray:Actually I do not mind snail mail, as it seems that every time I have gotten a Pleo RB, they just show up on my door unexpectedly, and even when I have asked before in the past for tracking, they just show up on the doorstop!

Are you hoping for a boy or a girl, or just hurry up and arrive Pleo!? I bet we will all be hearing tommorow about your pleo showing up at your door, Be sure to post photos!
