Yay!! My calendars have arrived - now I know what day it is! Thanks! ;D
-
today is Houseplant Appreciation Day! :) So much for houseplant! :moose: :brrr: :o ;D
-
Very nice Crewella, I have been so busy I haven't even looked at my calendar in a week. shame on me. What type of plant is that anyway? Reminds self to look at calendar. I love the leaf outfit too, did Kat make that if I remember correctly I think all Pleos will look lovely in it. RWM in the :brrr: Redwoods
-
Fancyfont!!!! :o
Houseplants need water even more than appreciation! :P
(Or did 'appreciation' involve some sort of wardance on it?) :P :moose:
-
I have one plant (a pothos ivy) that I've propigated from cuttings to start new plants as the older ones tend to die off for me. I've got the 5th generation hanging out around me now . . . but that's the only plant I've manages to keep alive for more than a year or so. :P
Anyway . . . here's a peek at the rest of the month for those who don't have a calendar. I see Dress up your Pleo Day is this weekend . . . and RWM better get her act together and ready for the 22nd . . . ;) Last year we had a competition for Curmudgeon's Day. There's still time to think about doing something for that again this year . . .

Hey MIke, I am ready for the 22'nd, Fact is, when you are a pet owner, and esp cats, you soon learn that everyday is "the 22'nd. " Cats will not tolerate disobedience and no excuses. Unlike dogs who are loyal no matter what, no questions asked, the cats are in charge and they let you know it. They have taken over my bed, I forgot what a bed even feels like. I have been camping out on the small loveseat for so long, my back forgot what a real mattress feels like. I also expect room service anytime between the hours of 11:30 p.m and 5:00 a.m and usually ever hour on the hour, Cats do like to party and they also want to go out all night, never mind it is freezing and in the 30's, if they want to go out and YOWL and HOWL, they will so you better just make it easier on yourself, and get up and let them out. I have also gotten use to finding small "thank you packages" of mice or what used to be rodents in my slippers, next to my head on my pillow, and every possible place imaginable.
I can't eat a bowl of granola without letting Tassawar the Tuxedo Tiger boy sample the milk first, heaven forbid if I did! I also have learned to keep it on Animal Planet at certain times of the day and to not give the resident dog, her meals first, ( never mind she is 61 pds and heavier and bigger, they outnumber her, 9 to -1 Yeah, I think I know all about the "22'nd" . It is not "answer your Cat's question day", it is do as you are told by the cats, everyday if you are a resident in a home Owned by the cats. :D My husband learned that long ago, that is why he gets to sleep in the bed, and it is me who the cats have running in circles, but it is ok...............I wouldn't have it any other way. I like independence and some day................................I may earn myne! :o ;D RWM Oh, can't wait for these contests, watch out guys... ;D
-
OMG!!!! Not the 22nd!!!!!!! :o
:litterbox:
-
Crewella, you are too funny but I was wondering.......................is the "smelly icon with the catbox", because you fear your felines asking for a fancy new "toilet accomadations" or are they referring to something else?! LOl, :D I know not to use that icon as I have catboxes everywhere..................one box per cat so they do not have time to attrack the flies..............and they also go outside when the weather is nice. It is still no fun to scoop all day....how about a robot to do that...that is my idea of a smart robot! ;D RWM
-
You can get robots to scoop cat poop! http://www.litter-robot.com/ :D
-
You are right, I forgot I saw that long ago, but only problem is that I have NINE cats so that would be a little expensive, I don't feel too bad though, my friend and fellow cat rescuer, has 15...so that makes me feel tad better except I also have a large dog...so we are at least even as far as teh cost of feeding goes. It is a nice thought though. Acutually, I don't mind changing boxes nearly as much as some people. just used to it I guess. Thanks for the info!

Vision of second cat entering at the wrong time! :o :moose: ;D

That is funny fancy, though I can honesty say I once did see two of my guys using the same box at the same time...! %) pretty comical.

In honor of today, Jan, 13th, which is "blame someone else day", ( where are you Bob?!) here is my contribution to that title. For complete story you will have to go to the gallery an read the storyline. Basiclaly it is between, ARgyle the seasoned old Pleo of the house, very sweet but totally blind since birth, and the newest little Pleo, a lovely female in the house, no name yet. She decided to help ARgyle get dressed this morning with funny results.
After all, he looks good in anything...! RWM and her Pleo Clan of the REdwoods

I love Argyle but have always wanted to know, is he blind because his camera dosen't work or his camera is ok but his actual eyes are broken?
-
Hi, as far as I know his "eyes" are actually broken, not the camera, also unusual that his Mouth does not can not open. I call him my Blind Ventriliquist Pleo, as he can still make noises, honk and sing, but neither his eyes or his mouth open. It is the motor that connects those body parts that does not function. :( He was that way when I bought him, and he and his twin brother, Gumble who Kat adopted, came together, I saw him on ebay and knew he was special. I had to rescue him . He would have been trashed, who wants a pleo that is blind and can not open his mouth, I thought he was adorable and special, so here he is.I know his camera works, as he is good at when walking stopping before he gets to the edge of the table. I will upload a photo of him without any clothes and you can get a better look at him.
when I first got both of them I asked degers if there was a possibility of fixing him, and I was told no, a broken motor or something similiar so I just enjoy him for what he is, Argyle. Also his motors are wearing out or slowing down, I know someday , he will just give out...................that will be a very very sad day for me. :( He is very special, I have never seen a blind Pleo or one that could not open his mouth, have you!

What a perfect way to celebrate Popcorn Day on a nice, rainy and, a bit chilly, day, :brrr: popcorn is the perfect treat for six hungry dinos. They're loving it! ;)
-
Here's this months calendar . . .
Some highlights coming up next week are Fettuccine Alfredo day on the 7th, and the anniversary of the founding of Hershey's Chocolate in the 9th. Pasta and chocolate -- what more can you ask for?
-
It's Umbrella Day :) At least it is here and for you guys tomorrow :D
-
So glad you got your calendar Kat, they are awesome and speaking of awesome, I love the Umbrella day photo, NOw if I can either get a bunch of Umbrellas or a REALLY BIG One, I may be able to fit some of my Guys under one. LOL ;D guess I will just have to take potluck,.........and it is supposed to rain tommrow, thanks for reminding me! RWM
-
:o there's a calendar? :o
Are all of these days that we're supposed to be dressing up our Pleos? That sounds like fun :) and kat, RWM and fancyfont, your pictures were awesome! I especially love the umbrellas, what a cute asian spin on a rainy day! :D
-
Yep. There's an official calendar. It's still available at http://www.zazzle.com/bob_the_pleo_eats_his_way_through_2012_calendar-158355108160305696 Not sure about shipping to Switzerland. Wish I had some left over I could sell you directly, but I'm all out.
-
:D that's so sweet of you to say, thanks for the link! It's adorable ;D I think I'll look into getting me and Aura a day by day treat! Thank you mweed ^^
-
Just an idle question . . . has anybody paid any attention to the photo behind the February calendar and wondered what it was and why it's the picture for February? (If you don't have one of the calendars, you can see it in the picture several posts earlier in this topic.)
-
I'd kind of assumed it represented 'clean out your computer' day? :moose:
*which, thankfully, passed ....... uncelebrated* %) :P
But did wonder if it was more Pleo-related?
-
Well Crewella is right, February 13th to be exact is "clean out your Computer Day". Tricky one Weed, but we got it. ;) RWM
Remember everyone do not let the Tomato Festival sneak up on you. Get those tomatoes ready,................ ;D
-
Tomato Festival? Oooh sounds like fun, could someone shine a little more light on that for me? :)
-
It's only the biggest contest on the forums! ;D Happens twice a year and is lots of fun. :)

Well, Clean off Your Desk day was in January, and the 13th is Clean out your computer . . . but you're both wrong. The picture is actually in honor of the day after the 13th . . . The Tomato Festival begins April 13th (eeek! another Friday the 13th!) this year.
-
Valentines day???? ??? :moose:
:arrow-head:
-
could this possibly be the picture of the heart of a pleo? :D %)
-
Yes, indeed it is, kat!
-
Yay! Well done Kat! :D
*Trust a bloke to reduce romance to nuts and bolts ........* :-X %) :P :moose:
-
Great job Kat, I thought perhaps a Pleo. but never would have guessed the "heart". Great job Kat....................RWM
-
We love you Dr Seuss
-
I love DR. Seuss and the Lorax is one of my favorite Seuss Books. It is not Dr. Seuss day here in the U.S. yet, still March Fool's day. whatever that means............ :DRWM
-
We read the Lorax at school today :)
-
Well, here's this month's events . . . which does clarify the Tomato Festival is the 13th - 15th, not the 6th - 8th. My fault for any confusion. It is usually the first weekend of the month, but with Easter already occupying that spot, it got pushed back a week.
This moth we also can look forward to "Wear You Pajamas to Work Day" on the 18th, and "Hug an Australian Day" on the 26th (sorry IMR & Kat, I'll have to email mine to you, just can't swing the airfare. ;) ).
And not only is today Deep Dish Pizza Day, but today is also the day when in 2063, humans make 1st contact with aliens -- the Vulcans.
-
...... not that the Vulcans will care, of course ...... ;) :P
Looks like a great month ahead ....... and I'm grateful for the extra time for the tomato festival! :D
-
....... and I'm grateful for the extra time for the tomato festival! :D
Me too! My friend and I may have a chance to get ready for it after all. :)
-
Me, too! I ate my props tonight. They were the best tomatoes I have ever had. Just like they were picked off the vine. :)
-
Pigs in a blanket day! Yummy!
-
Very cute Kat, and better than the kind you eat...................but then again I am a vegetarian.......I thought that is what today must be! LOL ;D RWM

That's from the Pillsbury web site.... it's one of their crescent roll recipes:

Piece 'o cake to make . . . (you could probably use veggie dogs if you had to . . . ;) )
-
Here's the new calendar page . . . I see we have Limerick Day in a week . . . are we burned out on those from Easter? It's World Laughter Day today, Chicken Dance day the Monday after Mother's Day, and Pizza Party day on Friday the 18th! And we end the month with Hug Your Cat Day (that should go over well here . . . %) ).
It's not on the calendar, but we just had a "supermoon" full moon Saturday night. This is a shot I got as it was rising just after sunset.
-
There once was a super full moon,
That made each and everyone swoon,
So big and bright,
It lit up the night,
By the light of that silvery moon...
Nope still got plenty of limericks in the tank :P
-
The fall holiday season is upon us, so to help us get prepared, here's next month's calendar.
Sausage pizza day is the 11th and World Pasta Day is the 25th. National Grouch Day is the 15th, preceded by International Skeptics Day on the 13th. And the biggie for October is the Tomato Harvest festival just two weeks away on the 5th -7th! :o But at least all you crazy cat ladies get to end out the month with Cat Day on the 29th . . .
-
Two weeks!!! *flails arms wildly*
-
Two weeeeeeeeeeeeEEEEEEEEEEEEEKS!!!!!! :o :o :o
*is there an echo in here?* :moose:
