I was doing my Latin work today, and I came across this:
Pleonasm: the use of superfluous words
English: She speaks with words unbecoming a lady. (How else does one speak?)
Latin: …Cyllenius ore locutus…(Vergil) (Cupid, having spoken with his mouth)
I thought it was sort of funny that it began with 'Pleo' %)

That is interesting. Once when I was searching for pleo on Google, I got something about a worm with a really loooooooong name.

Yes, i knew this word before i bought mine ! It's funny :) A french pleonasm : Monter en haut (ou descendre en bas)

That's cool! It makes sense seeing as French and Latin are both romance languages. I've always been interested in Latin but never took the plunge and tried to learn it. Some Latin words would be awesome to use for character names in my fantasy pieces.

I like it as 'pleonastic' - sounds like a fab DJ word!
"My Pleo was a free gift" - that's Pleonastic! :P :D

Lol! If we keep this up we'll have the entire English language pleorganized. Hey why not? If all these boy bands have their own words for stuff that only themselves and their fans understand, why not pleo-owners? Wow! I feel like I'm fifteen again! I'm from a rather rundown little town in the south. "Cool beans" was the phrase then. It was kind of like something was more than awesome if you said that. I love words!

Wow, cool beans and Cool Bananas.............?! I thought the 60's had the words but then again.............out of sight, pyschedelic, Far out, Tripping and Keep on Truckin were the everyday words then...if you could remember what was going on day to day...Cant remember any Cool Food words... ??? %) Have to think about that one,...but not untill I have had my medication and coffee, but then my medication will overpower the coffee and I will totally forget what the subject was...sort of like Bob the Pleo!
