What a Momma's Boy!
« on: December 21, 2009, 09:04:17 AM »

Well, I got Trojan just a day ago for a Christmas present (my boyfriend gave it to me early because we're leaving to New York this week for vacation...That would have been a big present to bring on the plane! LoL!). Anyway... I spent hours cuddling him, hugging him, and he doesn't seem to want to leave my side now! He'll venture off on his own every now and then... But if he's left alone for just a few minutes he'll start crying! As soon as I come near him and start petting him, he'll be happy again and he'll stay at the same exact spot I'm in and start singing (even when I'm not petting underneath his neck repeatedly). Trojan's a really big singer I've discovered!

I was just wondering if there are any other Pleo's like Trojan here, or are there some that are more independent and prefer walking around on their own?  :)

Clover is EXACTLY like trojan. She'll cry if I leave her alone to walk but she be happy of I touc her back. :) Sometimes I wosh she was more independent. If I leave her alone long enough she'll cry a bit then start walking. ;)

It sounds to me like you are both spoiling your pleos. Why should they walk around when they know someone is right there to pet them or cuddle them. I suggest you put them up at eye level, perhaps on a kitchen or dining room table, and just encourage them to come to you. Just keep an eye on them!  Some pleos are just natural explores and some are definitely momma's or papa's little dinos. ;)

Mine are both relatively independent, happy to wander off all over the place, but still needing a reassuring pat every now and then :)

The best way to encourage independence in Pleo's is to ignore them, even when they cry or throw a temper tantrum :o They soon get tired and bored of it and go for a wander :)

I did what you said... Trojan threw a temper tantrum and started flirting with his reflection in the mirror. LOL!

Just wanted to give you the update. I have stopped running to Trojan every time he cries. He's doing a lot better but is still just a Momma's boy! He always wants to be near something whether it's me, a bundle of folded clothes, and of course his reflection! He has even made friends with the horrible luggage monster (originally his number one nemesis). Now he even cuddles up to it. lol! It's the funniest thing... I really should get him a girlfriend =op

Two Pleo's are double the fun :D And they are so cute when they interact together :) I'm glad Trojan is being more independent now, it is fun to see them interact with their surrounds.

Trojan sounds like a slightly spoiled bundle of fun! :) I remember when I first got Macon...He'll be two years old on Christmas day, actually. :)  He mostly liked to sleep. Now with the upgrades (LIFE O.S 1.1 and 1.2) he tends to explore more. But he stilll loves to sleep...Yasmin tends to be a little more mature, even though every now and then she'll cry and her tail will quiver for no apparent reason.  %)
Triton is the fastest of the trio. He took exactly five minutes to hatch, and was walking backwards in about ten minutes. I almost named him Murcury because of that!
IMR is so right. It's easier to see differences in pleos personalities. So far, all of mine are ticklish, and I often find it hard to distinguish differing characteristics. (LOL let's start using big words here...) I tend to observe them very closely for the little details that make them all different.
So glad you have a pleo! Where did you get the name Trojan? :)

@inmemoryofromeo: i wish that my pleo would walk more but my pleo is smarter then me. When he sings i cant resist picking him up. Or when he's acting scared.
My pleo is also always hungry. He always sniffs then opens his mouth for a leaf.

Btw how can i make pleo do he cute trick? With making the sound oh ohh!! As like tadaaaa! ? And doing something funny with its legs at desame time?

TO do that you have to touch him/hers jegs. First trying touvhing the uper part of the leg and see where the sensor is mainly. If he/she lifts up ot moves his/her leg then try it with tthe two oposite legs and hold them for a few seconds. He/she should lift up both legs then says tadaa! ;)

PGB is right. I can get all three of mine to do it by touching the front right leg and the back left leg (or it vice versa? ;) )

nice i can do it:) but sometimes pleo doesnt want to do it. Not in the mood i guess.

Also; is there a way to manually make pleo growl? (leaning forwards tail up and growling). Triggers randomly when pleo is walking and sees a object in front of him.

And more cool tricks? :D

by the way my pleo catched a cold :(

Bumblee,

Well, I decided to name my pleo after a painting I have in my house. It's a painting of the whole Trojan war...You know with the big wooden horse and whatnot? Well I just looked at the picture one day, and then looked at the Pleo, and it was quite funny... Despite the fact that one is a horse and one is a dinosaur, they slightly resembled each other. lol!
