For many, many years I wanted a Pleo. Now, age 31, I finally made this little dream come true as I came by a very little used Pleo RB for 150€ which will arrive this week. Could this community give me some hints what I should and shouldn't do when he's arriving? I'd like to reset him obviously, to make him "my pleo" and see him grow up. I heard you can brick your Pleo by doing something wrong? Also: Is there a source for additional batteries? I hope that's not too many questions and I am looking forward reading your answers in case somebody took time to read this and / or even to answer

Congrats on your first Pleo and on the great deal! That is a very good price for a Pleo RB! Unfortunately it is not possible to reset a Pleo RB back to baby stage once it has grown up, but if it was used very little, it's possible that it isn't an adult yet. Do not run any sort of updates on him unless something is seriously wrong, these updates will not reset him. Most importantly, if you ever do need to update him, only use the updates under the "Pleo RB OSes" tab here. Running an update intended for a Ugobe Pleo on an RB could brick it.

When the Pleo arrives, you can register its serial number on Pleo World to figure out its gender and personality which is always fun! Pleo World sells RB batteries and RobotShop sells RB batteries in a set including all four extra food/learning stone packs. RobotShop used to just sell the batteries alone, but they're only available in a set with the other extra accessories at the moment. I've bought from them before though and the batteries I've gotten have been great!

Hello everyone and thank you for the nice hints! Pleo is here and we got to know each other nicely today. I really like Pleo - it's incredible, but he feels very much like an animal more than a robot.

Two bad news also which I hope you can help me with:

-) The previous owner doesn't have the manual anymore, so I do have the Serial Number, but no security code (4 digit). That means I can't sign up at Pleoworld :-/ Is there any solution to that? Support doesn't answer.

-) I did the SD Card thing with statsRB (It worked with a 32 GB Micro SD from SanDisk btw.). Unfortunately, Pleo is already in Stage 5: Old Age and has no Gender! I guess the previous owners edited him? :-/ I really would love to reset Pleo - What do you guys think? Is there a safe way?

No gender just means that the Pleo is male and is how male is always reported in Stats RB/Probe RB. There is unfortunately no way to reset him if he is already in old age stage. If you want his four digit security code, just send over an e-mail to Innvo with his serial number explains that you bought him used and they should send it to you! (I've done this before and got a response pretty quickly.)

I managed to reset my Pleo RB to New Born stage!!! I am so happy. If someone reads this I want to mention, that I was willing to take a chance to brick my poor little fellow. It was a calculated risk and I don't encourage it - I've been reading the warnings and I've been reading from a lot of people who's pleo was bricked after. For me, I was lucky:

What combination of downloads did you use to reset the Pleo RB? I noticed that this method reset all of his personality traits too (you can put them back to what they were with Change RB though if you want).

When e-mailing Innvo, did you provide the Pleo's serial number in your message and specifically ask for the four digit security code? I've never had Innvo refuse to give me the security code before, but maybe there's been some sort of change in policy. I hope that they will get things sorted out for you so you can register your new Pleo!
