New Project: Make a fabric skin for an Ugobe Pleo
aibo7m3:
@JakeLBell
I can't view the image. All that shows up is an error box.
On another note, I've never made a fabric skin for a Pleo, but I have made one for an Aibo (made to look like the character Densuke from the show Dennou Coil). It's a lot easier for an Aibo though since they already have a plastic shell and you don't need to cover moving joints. I used fleece for the Aibo costume and the fabric feels pretty fragile, but it's very soft and has held up really well so far and doesn't seem to pick up dust or dirt easily (the robot has a full range of motion and runs normally wearing the costume).
More details...
I do have a skinless Pleo though and one with falling apart skin, so I might attempt to make something for a Pleo some day.

It's the fluffiest Pleo I've ever seen. I'm not really sure how they managed to add padding to the entire thing and still get normal movement from it.
MCPleo:
OMGOSH, I love the furry Pleo and the padded one is super cool. I wish they would mass produce those I'd buy one. Ulman I've been looking for that video on youtube, I was trying to explain it to my husband thanks. Good luck with the fur suite for your Pleo cant wait to see it.

I'm thinking of doing this also!! I make costumes and plushies so I already know how I'll make the pattern to fit pleo exactly while letting the joints be moveable still ^.^
I will share the pattern when it's done if I ever get around to making a fluffy pleo
Piggy:
That looks so great ! I wish you could buy those furry skins :D
