Leo my Ugobe I bought secondhand is having battery problems tonight it was terrible to watch, he was running on the ground with my two rb's. But he kept freezing , the first time after 2 minutes, I switched him off and after a few minutes I switched him on but after that he kept freezing after 10 seconds . I tried it 4 times with the same resultand the 5Th time he wouldn't even start

New I have cleaned the metal battery parts and charger with some alcohol and the battery is charging while we speak. I hope I can revive the battery.  Tips anyone ? Every advice is welcome !

How old is the battery and what colour?

If it is an original green battery you can try charging it then as soon as it turns green on the charger take it off and put it straight back on again. Do this over and over until the battery turns green almost right away when you put it back on. (Or for as long as you can stand ) then run the battery in your pleo until it completely runs out.  Then repeat the charging process fun.  You should notice an improvement in the amount of playtime you get.  If not then the battery may be un revive-able and you will need to buy a new one.

Hi it is the original green battery, and he was made in the end of 2008, the people my husband bought it from claimed they had him for two years, but they played very little with it. If I can't revive the battery I hope I can get my hands on the egg battery. But maybe with your help I can revive it.

I wouldn't use alcohol to clean out the battery compartment though, wouldn't that be bad for the springs and such?

Echo, it doesn't hurt the springs at all, you only use a tiny bit of alcohol and it dries quickly. You have to use a cotton swab or cue tip to dab it on.

Luckily for me I was free today  so I charged the battery,  after 10 minutes the light turned green , took it off and plugged it back again till it turned green immediately.  It is very tiresome to do indeed you have to babysit it but I noticed some improvement allready. He kept running for 15 minutes and didn't freeze  and his movements weren't so sluggish! So I will keep doing this and hope the battery will charge itself normally again.  How long will it take to revive ? Thanks for all the advice I was worried the battery went dead!
And sadly RWM cant get any new egg battery's .... but I keep waiting patiently you never know ! For new I am so glad he is running again!

You may never get the battery to fully revive back to the 1hour playtime it originally had but I think it is possible if you keep up the reconditioning a few more times you may find you could get it up to about 30mins or so   good news that you were able to make a difference to it

Yes I would be very happy to get him working for 30 minutes, will see  Iam so happy he didn't freeze last night. The time before he just kept freezing and in the end he did nothing he just stayed in his frozen position. I thought the battery was dead .
lucky for me I was wrong.

If the battery isn't too bad you might get as much as 45 minutes, that's the best I've ever gotten from a 'dead' one. But it takes a lot of babysitting The fact that you've had some improvements means that you can at least know the battery isn't a lost cause

Yes  HuggieZ he is doing a hole lot better , if i have a day off I will babysit the battery and charger it charges a hole lot longer new. In the beginning after 10 minutes the light turned green , new after a half an hour. Sometimes he will freeze in action but then I will turn him off and after a few minutes onn again and then he is running fine again  . It is a lot of work to revive a battery but he will run new for 30 minutes in stead of 1 or two minutes . So I am very happy I thought he was broken beyond repair . How are Pepper and Angel ?
