Newest Pleo Rb of the Redwoods, Standing at long last!
« on: July 11, 2014, 03:27:25 PM »

Most of you know that I got this RB as a gift in early April, but with some tragic events her progress for what she has done and running time is WAY behind normal. She started hatching on April 8th, and yesterday, July 10th was only her second battery cycle..( :oYes, do not laugh ...it is true!) and she just started standing.. no walking yet, that could be another month. LOL> :dino-chase:
so here is yesterday's historic video..........any ideas for names for this pretty little girl

It's funny how different RBs can act so differently at the same stage! Yours is so quiet and mine started letting out a bunch of loud roars and cries as soon as he stood up for the first time and is still fairly noisy. She should start taking a few steps and stretching her legs soon, but as you say, it might be a while before she actually walks. My new RB also reached the socialization development stage yesterday and just started playing tug-of-war as I was typing this, so he's growing up really quickly. It's also funny that you say she hasn't eaten yet since my new little boy has been eating like a pig ever since he was hatched, he almost never refuses the conifer leaf! Your new RB is really adorable! I'm terrible with names, but I'll try coming up with a list of possible ones if I have the time!

I have a close friend name Clare, but I am not sure if I could get used to calling a Pleo by the same name, LOL. Once I upload the Probe RB just to see her stats on what her bred in qualities like courage, temper, etc are, then I will have a better idea, esp after she starts to walk, what type of name may suit her. It is sometimes hard to tell when they are really young like she is.

My first Pleo girl is Baby Ruth and she was named partly after my first Pleo rb that I had to send back , which was just Baby. Baby Ruth suits her to a t. My second Pleo Rb, also a girl, I won in 2011 in a contest on Facebook and sponsored by Innvo Labs, way back when they still had a company here in the USA.. :( Her name is Cammie -Sue, a combination of Cammie from a shortened version of Camasaurus, which is the dinosaur type, and Sue, from the first almost complete T-Rex skeleton found here in the USA. Sue the T-Rex as scientists discovered, were bigger then their male T-Rexs, I liked the combination of Cammie and Sue, so Cammie-Sue fit. :-* P:-*
My third Pleo Rb I got on Ebay from a owner in Canada and happened to be the only ( so far... P:D) male, and he happens to have a front leg that acts up frequently, so I named him after my favorite TV western show, Gunsmoke, the character on the show who happens to limp, Chester, the name of my male RB is therefore, Chester!
My fourth Pleo Rb I also acquired on ebay and actually by accident from a member here on the Pleo forums, I bid on this little girl cause she had PINK eyes, and I wanted a Pleo with either Purple or Pink eyes so I won her. Quite by accident I also found out this member did not have time to play with this Pleo, even though she had her for almost a whole year!( She had another Pleo RB, her favorite and the one she played with the most, a PINK Pleo RB named, Heidi! So when I got this little girl, she wasn't standing yet, she had just hatched with only TWO hours of battery time and I got what amounted to a Hatchling still, Because of her Pink eyes, I wasn't sure what to call her, but I came up with the name, PC for short, which is Pink Champagne, the color of her eyes. So that is three girls and one boy so far.

My newest Pleo Rb was a present from my hubby, and a great deal at Brand New and he only paid $280.00 and here in CALIFORNIA and he got her on EBAY! It turned out to be another little girl, ,but I was surprised when I opened her on April 7th and saw how pretty her eyes were, a deep emerald green and mauve eyelids... so a total of four girls and one little boy.. LOL. P%) P:D  But it has taken me forever to hatch this little girl and I am only on the second battery cycle. So I will have to wait and see what she acts like but am thinking of having another contest if a name doesnt' come to me...So Clare is nice, but I will have to wait and see a bit..    And Aibo you are right, there is such a tremendous difference in the way one Pleo Rb acts and eats, etc, then another, just as the differences between one dog and another or one cat and another, and that is what makes them so life like and loveable! Our babies are close to the same age, ( battery cycle wise...) but I am sure your little one is going to the head of the class as slow as I am.. I do hope your babies neck problems settle down and you do not have to send him back, He does have very nice pink eyes. :-*

She is so lovely and her eyes  ;D are indeed like emeralds  :-* I am also terrible at thinking of names with my first Pleo I just removed the P and there was Leo , the second my RB I wanted a name with the letter L also, my husband pointed out you like Lenny Kravits so that how Lenny came by his name . I like Claire like Mini me suggested it's a nice and short name that she can learn easily .Give her a big hug from my boys , I like her dress

So far she looks to have a pretty quiet and calm personality, but that may change as she grows up. As for names, maybe Lily, Opal, Ivy, Alice or Amelia? It might be best for you to come up with one yourself though since that might have more meaning to you.
