Naoki on air
« on: April 18, 2013, 05:08:15 PM »

Hi there

My name is Naoki, I'm 17 years old, French, 1st year student in a computing engineer school in Paris. I'm also DJ, mixing mainly minimal electro, liquid dubstep and drum and bass. Love playing video games, but not the most violents ones. Only which have a true and deep story to tell, like Metal Gear Solid or Dishonored, for specialists. And of course, fond of AI, robots, and computing technology!

To be honnest, I hate electronic toys. I found them totally... Empty. No souls, just reactions when pressing buttons. No surprise (maybe the first time, but that's all). For me, a real robot doesn't need a remote. Even if choices between prices and functionality are make, if it is just a simple AI like Pleo, I respect, until it really acts on his own, hand in hand with humans.
And that's where I came in. I want to work on AI, that's my dream. For robots, for video games, or just for assisting software, don't care. But I really think every animal or human behaviour is reproductible with enough time, cash, and mathematic précision. In other words: for me, with enough 0 and 1, you can create emotion. Beautifull point of view isn't it? :)

I guess you begin to understand what I am doing here, without any Pleo yet. Pleo is a perfect beginning basis for developpers and hackers. He isn't too smale, so he still being quietly easy to mod. He is really cute, and it's already more pleasant to work on cute things than on creepy ones (for me, anyway). My objective is to make a nearly optimal Pleo model, with nearly the best components on the market, no matter the price, and see what should be a really high ranked basic AI, with precise captors and enhanced Processing Unit.

Hoping that it will be cool between us, for having a good time with Pleo and my deviant hacker and geek mind ;)

(If minimal electro, liquid dubstep and drum and bass sounds like Chinese for you, I recommend to look at the Going Quantum Podcast on Youtube, especially this one right below. If beats doesn't afraid you, you're gonna like it :D )
