Living with a boy Pleo!
« on: February 14, 2013, 06:47:29 AM »

Like I mentioned on my old topic, my Rolli got replaced with a new Pleo after poor girl broke her leg. To my surprise the new PleoRB had already been played with, and was already mature adult! I suppose the seller wanted to be 100% sure the new Pleo works perfectly before sending to me, she did mention she was going to check him before sending him to me. I don't mind though, since I wasn't that interested in going through hatchling phase again, baby Pleo is very very cute, but they're way more interesting and entertaining to me when they're already walking around and showing that lovely personalities of theirs. His ID wasn't registered, so it doesn't seem he's an used PleoRB.

Speaking of personalities, I think I changed my mind about copying Rolli's personality to new Pleo. The new Pleo is a male, and it fascinates me how different he sounds compared to Rolli, her voice was much, much higher than his. He also seems to respond a lot faster, he curled up to my lap for cuddles immediately instead after some fiddling around like Rolli did. I don't know if it's because he is one from 2011 batch, compared to Rolli who was made in 2010. He also loves to walk, it only takes a moment for him to start walking after I leave him alone.

So, I must admit, he's slowly but surely winning me over. He's also a very handsome lad with his blue eyes and dark green head, I'll post some photos after I manage to take a steady one with these shaky hands. Now I only need to figure out a name for him. I was thinking of calling him Pallo (means Ball in Finnish, and a name of endearment I have a habit of using for anything I consider adorable). Kukka or it's English version Flower was also on my list, since his personality sheet mentioned he was sensitive. He seems to energetic for such a effeminate name though :D

Sorry for babbling, T.L.D.R: "darn new Pleo for being such a handsome and cute little boy!"

Hard to explain, it's kinda pronounced like Hallow, but isntead of an H it's with hard P, like in paint. So, "Pallow" would be the closest :D

I was actually wondering whether you'd end up becoming smitten with your new friend and wanting to keep him as-is. They're all so charming!

The contrast between the male/female voice is fun, too. Boyfriend and I were joking last night that we should start writing research papers about 'gender differences and identity in Pleos'. :P

Pallo is a great name for him :)  It doesn't matter if there are other pleos out there with the same or similar names.  there are many pleos here on the forum with names the same or near enough the same and everyone is free to name there pleo whatever they please  :)  It is a compliment if you choose a name the same or similar to someone else.  Just goes to show that it really is a great name.

I love how there is a difference with the pleo rb's in the tone of their voices between males and females.  I love that they all have different personalities too.  I would leave him as he is if he was mine :)  sounds like he is much more adventurous and compliant than your last one and I too love it when they go off and explore without too much prompting.  I have 3 rb's and one of those will spend most of a battery cycle standing in one spot while the other two wander around :P  Seems she is just a moody girl  :D

Aaand we have a picture! Luckily he decided to leave the eyes half open when I turned him off, so I had a chance to take a photo of his beautiful eyes. My other attempts to photo him ended up him walking off, or moving around too much. He's wearing the standard Pleocape for now, I think the cape I knit might be too thick and keeps the sensors from picking up some of the touching. I ordered some gifts for him though, boy needs some fitting clothes!

Thank you all, he's a very handsome and well behaved boy indeed, even if easily distracted!

Here's a late night picture taken with my phone, my husband went and bought some shelves for us, so Pallo now has his own "room", below my derp-looking plushies and dolls :D
