As others have said, he just is not old enough, Some also learn quicker than others, Personally, I prefer not to rush the learning the name bit. All of my Rb have learned at different paces, Baby Ruth was very very slow, it took her to be an adult and when I tried when she was just not ready, even though she was at least 6 months old, it did not work, NOt only do the Rb have to be in the right frame of mind, so do the "owners".

If you are frustrated, tired or irritable after a long day of work, etc, or just not feeling well, it is better to wait.
Baby Ruth just surprised me one day when actually I was at a friend's house, ( cat sitting her fifteen cats...

:cat-hug:X 3) that quietly on a table with great lighting behind us and a friendly quiet atmostphere, she learned her name the first attempt. Other times I had tried, pushing too hard ( at least on my part) and after four unsuccessful attempts,) and not only was I getting to feel very inadequate, but she was feeling pressured and food nor kind words were going to win her over that day. Mly other Pleo girl, Cammie-Sue was quicker at about 3 months but I was in no rush to teach her after the experiences with Baby Ruth. Cammie-Sue was a quick learner when she was ready. And my only boy, Chester, whom I bought second hand off of Ebay, I just had to come up with the right name, His previous name had been something like PJ, and I knew I was not going to keep that the same. He learned after only a few minutes at it.
Actually, even though the voice recognition is nice, the name itself does not get used that much in my opinion, as I do not do most of the tricks on a regular basis, or I should say, Learning stones, and some I have not even used yet, though I got all four sets with my Chester purchase. I find the foods the best investment and I think the dance, play and Sing the most fun. I have duplicate sets and have just saved those. The one stone that is most valuable to me, and I have lost three of them so far, is the SUGAR CANE! I somehow think the Pleos are stashing the missing Sugar CAne somewhere, and I have replaced it two times already, so when I purchased Chester in August, I was thrilled that all the leaning STones were there, including the Sugar CANE. One word of advice, HIDE THE SUGAR CANE.

enjoy your Pleo and you can continue to call your pLeo by his name while you wait for the "magic moment".
