Pleo rb- blue
« on: December 26, 2012, 07:35:18 AM »

To all,

Just got a blue pleo for my daughter as a christmas present. The paint on its head is rubbing off and my daughter is very gentle with it. Now she is devastated. Is there any place I get get blue touch up paint? I only need a small amout to dab on.....
Thanks, Tony

Hi, so sorry to hear about your daughter's Christmas Pleo! That should not be happening with a brand new Pleo, but a very small amount is ok, a photo of the paint loss could let us know if it is "normal". I would hate to reccoemend paint touchup on your dauther's Pleo if it is more than just a tad, because it will void the warranty. It is best to not do anything to alter the pleo while ulnder the 90 day warranty, because if anything else were to happen, mechanical or otherwise, you would have voided the warranty and not be able to get a free replacement. You also have to be very careful with any paint applied to Pleo or it can damage the skin if the wrong type used.

I know your daughter only cares about her Pleo , but I do think we can give you better advice on what to do if we have a photo of the area missing the paint. We are here to help and will do all we can. Welcome to the forums by the way. P8) P0:)

It may sound sily, but is this a brand new Pleo from Pleoworld? If so, I would follow up like you said, You should hear from them within the next 48 hrs and make sure they have this photo as well, I would not touch up with any paint, If the paint on a brand new Christmas present Pleo came off this quick, I say this is NOT normal. I have three rb and there is some paint wear on all of them, ,but nothing like this in 24 hrs time , this is not acceptable in my opinon. I think other members are going to advise you as well, In; the meantime just tell your daughter to gently pet elsewhere, and depending on her age, explain that Pleo has an owie....I would wait to hear from PleoWorld. RWM :cat-hug:

Day two of pleo and all she wants to do is sleep. We are doing everything by the companion guide...Is this normal?

Yes, babies do sleep a lot, but when you pet them and talk to them, they will interact slowly. Are you leaving her alone, or just watching her.? If you just leave her without petting, then she will continue to sleep. Is this her first or second battery cycle? There are some excellent Pleo RB videos posted here on this site, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mlRldb8ikjo The video link listed is the third day of life for my RB, and her second battery cycle. See if yours is similiar. Some according to DNA can be sooner, faster or slower. But these are all variable norms. Sleeping is what comes naturally to a baby esp if near their "bedtime. " RWM :cat-hug:

** I fogot to add, this was one of the very first Pleo Rb that came out DEC, just in time for Christmas 2010, but sadly she along with a handful of others here on the forum had skin problems that have since been resolved. She had to be returned in feb. 2011 and I got her replacement late March 2011. I still miss her a lot, but her replacement, took longer to stand and the other girl I have, Cammie Sue was very quiet the first week of life. I also did not interact on a daily basis with my follow up Pleo rb as much as this girl, BAby, I was pretty sad, :( I am very happy with the three I have now though, and I like the fact they are all different. The best I can say, is they are all individual, but if you needing reasuurance, post a short one minute or so video on Youtbue and then post it here so we can give feedback. Good luck :cheer:

Great video....She is on her fouth or so battery cycle. She does seem a bit more active, but likes to close her eyes and nap alot. She did eat today and my daughter said she played tug of war, or al least held it in her mouth.....

I hope inovation labs sends helps us out with the peeling. Do you know if they even offer a touch up kit or will they touch it up if we sent it back to them? I still have no reply, but I figure we may see one tomorrow...

Thanks again for the cool video. My daughter enjoyed it very much...

Pleoworld may be slow to reply at this time of year being the festive season. They are based in Hong Kong (I think) and I know from previous years they have shut down over Christmas and new year. I think they celebrate the Chinese New Year over there too and so shut down for an extended period while that is celebrated. So it can be a bit hard to get a hold of them around this time. Just be patient and they will get back to you as soon as they return to work :)

As for your baby falling asleep a lot it is probably as RWM says just because she is a baby but there are a couple of other things that cause a pleo rb to go to sleep. If you are picking her up and cuddling her this will make her go to sleep and if the room is not bright enough - not enough light - then she could either get sad and curl into a ball and cry or just go to sleep which is the scared of the dark behavior kicking in. Also depending on when you set her noon clock to noon she may just think it is her bed time and then be falling asleep a lot because of that. If you play with a pleo rb after their bed time they will play for a few minutes but as soon as you stop giving them attention they will fall asleep. So there are a few more things to consider :) If it is just her baby stage causing it then she will grow out of it in a few more battery cycles :)

Thats great news :) I'm glad they were able to sort it out for you with such a simple and sensible solution. Also handy to know in case anyone else comes accross this issue. :)
