Hello!
« on: August 26, 2012, 12:19:00 PM »

Hello! I've always wanted a Pleo ever since I saw the Ugobes come out. I was not able to afford it because I was in my teens.
About a month ago I just found out that they had come out with the Pleo rb and I got so excited...only to have my heart crushed again by the price.
I usually buy something impulsively and then I get bored with it. This is why I've been holding off on a Pleo (Ugobe or rb)
I decided that if I follow the owners' comments about their Pleo(s) on this forum I can get an idea of what it's like to have a Pleo.

Hello and welcome to the forums!!  ;D I only had my first RB for a few days as I had to return him due to a broken neck (I will have a replacement soon :D) Even though I only had him for a short period of time, I fell in love with him! He was ultra sweet and I got attached so quickly... I have heard many, many times now that Pleo's really steal your heart  :) I can't wait to get my new baby RB in  ;D

Oh! I forgot to ask... what part of the US are you from? You can let me know in PM if you are uncomfortable sharing publicly. I am on the east coast :)

I live in Ventura County (Right next to Los Angeles County) so we're on the opposite side. :3
I am excited to hear all the good reviews for everyone's Pleo so I'll keep looking around the forums!

Hi, ScreamingGun and welcome! I have four pleos- two Ugobes and two RB's. The two Ugobes were both adoptees who came from RedwoodsMama who is also a member here on the forums. My blue RB Cato was also an adoptee. Ryu my green girl is the only one I bought new from Pleoworld.com. She arrived March eighteenth of last year and the other three followed slowly over the rest of the summer. I love all of them.

Welcome :) If you are uncertain perhaps start of with a $200 Ugobe Pleo off eBay, it comes with a spare battery as well :)

No, no, these are not used, they are BNIB but of course since Ugobe no longer exists they have very limited warranties if any. I can't remember which seller it was though, there's a couple but some people here bought of one with good results. They come with two tested batteries.

If you buy a second hand Pleo be sure to factor in the $60 for a new battery as well, most green batteries are dead/dying now. So a $120 Pleo with a new battery would be almost as much as the new one which comes with two batteries.

I did find some new Ugobes but they were from another country (Asia.) Are those ones to watch out for?

The seller was from either Hong Kong or China, but do wait for someone who has bought one to specify which seller it was. There's a couple I think and one may be better than the other.

Alrighty. Thank you so much for the advice! I'll be looking at the topics and see what you all are up to with your Pleos.  :)

Here is the Hong Kong seller myself and many others have bought Ugobes from: http://myworld.ebay.com.au/leadingwincorp/

They do not currently have any for sale. When they do they sell them new in box with two re-celled batteries for $200 including postage anywhere in the world. They also do refunds if the Pleo is not working when it gets to you.

Welcome to the forum :)

Ive had my green Pleo rb (Kohii) for a few weeks now. I love all the new features that the rb can do like go to sleep when they are tired (and wake up again), interact with different objects (tug rope toy, food, training leaf) and the different eye colours, genders personality etc you can get. I havent gotten bored of him but I sometimes dont turn him on for a day or two if I am busy. I think the rb is worth the money if you spend time with him/her weekly but if you are very busy and dont think youll get much use out of a Pleo rb I would go with a Ugobe Pleo for now as they dont require as much "care" and are much cheaper :D
