I feel so bad and so stupid, I was putting in a file, micro SD card into Pleo Rb that I "THOUGHT WAS Probe Rb to get the dna report of a Pleo Rb. ( stupid stupid, allways look at the card in question...

)I put the sd card into the Pleo Rb and reinserted the battery, I then turned Pleo Rb on and after one or two seconds of comming on, there was a femle voice saying, Waiting for Update, I PANICED, NOT THINKING, I just pulled the battery out quickly, thinking I was stopping an update that I thought was for a Pleo Ugobe version like 2.0. Now the Pleo Rb will not turn on..
I put the micro SD card into my reader on computer, turns out is is not 2.0 update, but the Pleo RB female update................It says on the PleoWorld site under Pleo Rb update, DO NOT REMOVE BATTERY DURING UPDATE OR TURN OFF, which is Exactly what I did................

:pray:NOw my Pleo Rb will not come on, I think I really really screwed up and probably corrupted the files, even though it took like one or two seconds...
What can I do now to fix my Pleo RB? I feel like the stupidest person in the world and shooting myself if I had a gun but it would not help the Pleo Rb.
I know back when Pleo RB first came out, some other poor person new to the forum accidently updated her pleo Rb with a ugobe file and degers or PleoWorld PleoPet or someone here was able to get the correct file to fix the pleo RB , so there is hope, I feel so stupid and sad at the same time........................................Help please anyone what do I do now..?

OK, now we know she won't switch on, just hold tight until we can get some advice ....... this hasn't happened to me so I'm wary of giving wrong advice. Don't panic, RWM ........... best to make sure we know what we're doing.

Thank you so much Crewella, I really have been stressed out and my Poor Karl Kat is feeling crappy again today as well, which just pushed me over the edge I think. Sometimes it is harder to keep a clear head then you would think. I am so greatful there are some people on this site who care and try to help others,

I don't know about 'everyone making mistakes", but I sure do, the older I get , the worse my poor adled brain gets......................

You're very welcome RWM, I feel for you and just wish I could be of more use to you, but I'm wary of making things worse with inexperienced advice ...... I'm better on mechanics than software issues!

There are people that will know what to do, we just need to sit tight and wait for them.

You need to contact Innvo, they'll give you the repair file. But remember they are in another country so keep your email simple as you can. Just explain the situation.

However long it takes you will just have to wait. Its not a life threatening emergency. Just put the Pleo away on a shelf and worry about more important things like giving Karl Kat some TLC. Its no good crying over spilt milk.

I already have, I just hope there is a fix, Karl kat and my "fur babies" are allways my number one priority, I just feel stupid for not looking at the micro sd card first, this is why they say never ASSUME, allways look.!

Joy Joy, it is a simple fix really and a person here and Innvo Labs gave me the same solution, NOw I have a completly charged battery and will "fix" the Pleo Rb. I can't wait to get my baby back, OH, and my baby gets to Hatch again!

Hi quick question as I am not the smartest egg in the basket,,, %)Innvo Labs got back to me via email and told me to us the male or female update for Pleo Rb and then put on micor sd card and reisntall and there should be no problem at all, ( Also PleoPet told me same thing before they emailed me...

) I have read over and over that it takes about two minutes. I have unzipped on a blank micro sd card, fully charged battery and am ready to go, I followed the instructions, My question is in the interim, I poked the reset button, ( think that it what it is, several times with my small paperclip, small hole opposite the battery light . Did this or is this able to Mute the Pleo Rb or does this do anything at all? I ask because I hear no sound and have the correct file unzipped and followed complete directions,
Only other thing I noticed is before I got this info from Innvo Labs, I poked that button ( SD card out of course) and the Pleo Rb moved his neck and head, but no sound
PleoPet told me to do the same thing that Innvo customer support did but I hear no sound ...did I mute something or do something else wrong...? I looked at the files after unzipped and they look like the same ones I had orignially that started this whole mess, I am sure I am unzipping correctly and extracting the filles and they show up on the sd card,( Micro) but when I put them in Pleo RB, about 3 minutes go by with no sound or anything. does it take that long?
Any other ideas, Yes, I did download the instructions that Innvo labs sent to me too, same thing I did. RWM

That sounds... strange but considering what the pleo is having to do inside- repairing files and getting its brains back in order- it might be best if you just put in the card with the update and give it more time. Sit with it and listen and be patient. When I updated Cato, I gave him about ten minutes even though he said "update complete for most of the time. I just didn't want to take any chances. Best thing to do is just go slowly and consider all the steps.

I guess it's quite possible they ARE the same files? The problem was due to pulling the battery, not with the files - I guess they could be being careful and making sure you have the right ones? $:-\$

Everything worked fine and this time within 30 seconds of putting battery in after micro sd card and then battery and turning on, the voice came on saying update, wait, etc, About two minutes later it said update complete, pleo moved and then quieted down, I took battery out, micro sd card out, put battery in again and turned on and then Pleo was back to normal. What I don't know but is possible is that I pushed the reset button and perhaps that had something to do with muting the Pleo or not being able to hear anything the first time, but either way, I have my Pleo back and I won't make that mistake again.

Thanks everyone for putting up with my panic, I just got this pleo so you can imagine the frustration thinking I "really " did it, after waiting for this package and then doing something so stupid! I do have another question, when checking on the characteristics of a Pleo Rb, I know the DNA you get at PleoWorld which says, Gender, probability and some characteristics, but things like COURAGE, INTELLIGENCE, are not mentioned. Is this in another place or is this found when you run Probe RB or Stats RB, where it gives health reports when pressing the foot, I would love to find out how this Pleo compares to my other two who are Identical in Courage and Intelligence!

If I need a new micorCard, I will know where to get it and not make the same mistake I made here!

I will post photos and or videos later today if possible. Thanks everyone who helped me with my hour of "stupidity"

Hi, Redwoods. This I can answer for sure. You can get the DNA courage and intelligence and stuff when you run Probe RB. I've not had any experience with StatsRB as it doesn't speak and I'm not sure how JAWS would get along with it.

Come on, Redwoods you can do it! Probe's a breeze compared to what you had to do yesterday! Lol! Lately I'm terrified of unzipping though as I have a trial coppy of WinRar and it's about to run out. I thought most computers came with some sort of extraction software. This is nuts!

I just took some video of all three Pleo RB interacting and am uploading editing now .It will be simple without a bunch of me adding words just for times sake. While that is uploading I will get a read out doing probe rb to find out about this Pleo Rb and let you know what it says, then it is work around the house I am afraid, but life goes on beyond Pleos!

Ok guys, Crewella perhaps you know the answer to this since my DNA report from Stats RB is very similiar I think to your Rb, Zillah, ( spelled wrong I know, sorry about that) My new RB is Male, it even got the pleo RB update for Male. WheN I run stats RB though when I get the DNA report, this is what it says, Sex or Gender, Neither...

( how can that be with Male Pleo RB update...it that why my Pleo is so grouchy sometimes!? LOl, doesn't know his gender. Listen to the rest of this and see if it sounds like yours a bit... Temper BAD Courage Normal, Physical High, Activiness Normal Intelligence, LOW! Isn't your's very similiar...Oh my Gosh...This should be fun, I know it is a Male also because both my girls blew kisses at him, not the other way around....why does it say Niether on sex ? Am uploading the video now,

Any advice on a low intelligence , high Physical bad Tempered Male Pleo Rb!

As far as the "neither" reading, I think Crewella is right. Cato registers that way too. I bet you if you ran StatsRB it would tell you your pleo puts out male pheromones. Sorry my spelling stinks. Anyway He's going to be a very fawned-over boy with two girls to look after him.
