Hello! Goodbye!
« on: July 19, 2012, 11:42:15 AM »

Hello all!
I have been a lurker here for a few months and was trying to get my twin daughters' Pleo up and running after being hibernating for the past 2-3 years......
I came here for some help and read a lot of great info on Pleo.  Unfortunately, the cost is going to be substantial for a new battery (in my opinion) and would like to let you know he's going on ebay.  The condition is very good, but his battery doesn't last long at all. (5 minutes?) I just thought I would give you a Pleo heads up in case you were interested!!
Thanks for the very informative posts and information.  It's a great site, but my daughters just don't show any interest in our Pleo anymore.  He needs a new loving home....
I read the rules and don't think I am breaking any of them as I am not selling on the forum.
Thanks again!

Hi, sorry to hear about the Pleos but if your daughters are not interested in him anymore, it really does not matter if the battery was $1.00 or $100.00, if there is no interest, then it is better to give him a home where he can give someone some fun. If you are interested in getting the BEST price for him, I know from experience that the best and highest pleo prices are from late November to Mid December when people are more willing to pay higher prices as looking for Pleos as gifts. I have lots of pleos and know how much they go for, so just thought I would let you know, make sure to post good photos of him and you will also get more bids that way.

                      Good luck.  :D               RWM

So sorry the Pleo didn't work out. If you wanted to, you could take the time to recondition the battery by repeatedly charging and draining it, your daughters may be more interested in it if it stays awake for longer than five minutes. But if not good luck selling.

I tried that a few months ago and it didn't work too well.  You just can't let batteries sit uncharged for a long time=not good!!
I will put it up on ebay on Saturday and it will end next Saturday.  I live in Salisbury, Maryland and my username is Sir-G.
I appreciate the help! I just got an email from Ugobe that said they will continue to support the 1st gen Pleo which is nice to hear! $60 battery is a little much though-ouch!
IF I bought a new battery, how long will 1st gen Pleo usually operate on the charge? 5 minutes just isn't enough!

First of all I wouldn't buy from Innvo, the egg batteries from here on the forum are a much better buy.

The green batteries last one hour usually. (NiMH)

The egg or white batteries last two hours. (Li-poly)

How much for each? Are they much cheaper than the $58 ones?
Hmmm, it doesn't go live until Saturday so I have a few days to think about it......!

As IMR says, the Li-Poly batteries are much better.  You do need the charger for them as well, but can use the same lead/adapter.  :)

Can you post the link to your ad?  I can't seem to find you on e-bay.  Thanks.
