Hello/Hallo from Germany
« on: July 20, 2012, 06:39:51 AM »

hi,

My name is Uwe, I'm from Germany and I'm 30 years old, robots always inspire me, and i always waiting for a Robot like PLEO.
An AIBO can not afford myself, but I was always impressed by PLEO.
For many months I have been reading here in the forum, I watch videos of Pleo's on Youtube and now I have finally bought my own Pleo RB!  :D :D :D
For only 120 €! ;D :o ;D
I do not know whether the ID-Card is included, is it a must have?
For what purpose you need them?
If that's right, there is no way to reset the PLEO RB, because there is no possibility at all?
So now I'm just waiting until the PLEO is finally home with us and how our three cats respond.
Here are the first pictures

Sorry for my bad English!  :-[

Greetings and congrats on your first Pleo and a RB. The card is very important! Without the card, you will NEVER be able to teach your pleo her or his name, There is a microchip in the card that the Pleo recognizes when placed under their chin, Perhaps you can contact Innvo Labs and see if they will sell you a replacement card it will be the number on the front foot, you allso need that number on the foot and do you have the manual? Without the manual you can not check the gender of your Pleo to see if it is a male or female, What happened to the manual. One last very important thing.
Has this pleo been used, as it looks like it has if things are missing, It can not EVER BE RESET TO HATCH, ONLY UGOBES CAN BE RESET NOT RB. also is the battery in the foot compartment if it has been hatched? Otherwise you will need to buy one to have Pleo work correctly.

Please let us know these other things . The manual, Clock battery and ID card are most important things. Also you are missing daily food to keep Pleo healthy and will NEED it. Pleo can not live healthy on the sugar cane and the coffee bean, those are just suppliments but good suppliments.I do hope you have the adapter plug to charge the battery also or that is another expense. Congrats though, have you thought of a name? Your English is fine by the way. :)

Welcome and congrats!

As above, the card is needed to learn their name, without that you can't use the learning stones. The gender thing is probably less important, just pick one.

Maybe they just haven't shown it, they might not think it was important.

I'm afraid there is no way to reset an RB as yet.

No, you must have the card for Pleo to LEARN its name. Without that card you CANNOT use the learning stones.

Your Pleo needs a conifer or cycad leaf or you won't be able to feed it. That leaf is not shown in the picture. (You do have a coffee leaf though) Please read the FAQ which has videos explaining each leaf: http://bobthepleo.com/forums/index.php?topic=2315.0

If the Pleo you has bought only comes with what is shown your Pleo will get very sick. You will need to purchase a leaf pack from Innvo.

You might find them in the box :) The Pleo does look to be in good condition. Do you know the eye colour?

Yes, that's the card, and you can get replacement mint, salt and conifer foods for $5.99 each http://www.pleoworld.com/pleo_rb/eng/products.php?c1id=2

The conifer is a daily food, the salt is for injuries and the mint is for illness.

$20 for a replacement card seems pretty steep, I wonder if they personalize it with your Pleo's number for you.

And please, call me IMR :) I'm more than happy to help :)

Today, after twelve days of horror my PLEO has arrived! ;D
Why horror?
The seller has suddenly stopped responding to my email and after several emails I've received a complaint filed with PayPal. >:D
I've already resigned myself that I will not get the PLEO and have reclaimed my money via PayPal.
Also on the email from PayPal, the seller has not responded and suddenly out on the very day when I was at home and did not have to work, the doorbell rang at the door and a large package was handed over to me.
I thought my wife had ordered anything, I never would have expected PLEO, but he was in the package! :o :o :)
Even the charger and the "Conifer Leaf" are fortunately with this, only the ID card and the instructions are missing.
I've already sent an email to PLEOworld and hope they can help me, because of PLeoeurope I waiting more than  two weeks and still get no reply from there. >:(
At the moment the battery is charging but I can't  wait to see "Yoshi" in action,  and I'm glad it's all gone well again. :-*

The battery is charged and Yoshi works, what surprises me a little, he has gone so far no step, he stands there and screams just like a cow. ;D

Hi, Icon and welcome to the forums! The cow moo is usually a sign of a happy pleo. They will stand there with their tail wagging and raise their head and moo. Sometimes pleos need a little encouragement to move around. If feeding as IMR suggests doesn't get him excited about his world, try ignoring him a little and see if he walks. Certain pleos like moving around more than others. Also he might not be completely grown up. I remember a stage in Ryu's development where she stood for what felt like hours just wagging her tail and blinking her eyes just before she really started walking.

I hope you get a reply from Pleo World soon, Yoshi is a great name!
