Really? Is it laibled "Funky Furby"? Is there any way to tell if my emototronic guys fall into this class or should I borrow one of my niece's tekno CD's and blast everyone out of the house?

I watched several of the promos for the new Furbies and they said the price this fall will be about $60.00 which seems a little stiff for me, but we will see, All I saw so far were shades of blue which could be dull after awhile, I do like the idea of different personalities like Pleos though. Will have to wait and see, Has anyone seen this old video of Furby, kind of different. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_KY__ig0xeY

RWM Oh and by the way, I do have two furbies, My first one I got in a thrift store for either 50 cents or $1.00 about two years ago, and another one special edition on EBay, still in box unused for less then $10.00 about a year ago, Will have to go revive my special needs Furby, LOL

I had a look on the Adopt a Furby site Talon to see what generation yours are but they only have about three pictures of the emoto-tronics and just simple descriptions of the colours. I didn't read about any that sound like they could be reffering to yours so it is a mystery but I'm 99% sure they are not Funky Furbies because they are the wrong colour for a Funky and also the manual dosen't say anything about them being a Funky. I wish they did have all the pictures up of the emoto-tronics because I would have liked to see all the colours that were available.

Talon's furbies are white with a little bit of dark purple mixed in on the body and they have light blue tummies. One has blue eyes like a Ugobe pleo and the other has brown eyes like a Blue Reborn. I am hopefully adopting the blue eyed one soon :cheer:
Fingers crossed he has a better attitude than the one in RWM's video, that was really funny when he asked "Furby please play with me" and furby just scrunched his face up and shouted "NO!!" haha the poor owner.

Yes it does, thankyou so much! It is the one next to the white one with the pink tummy and the black hair, that is the one Talon has and I am hoping to adopt ;D
My gosh that Itallian Funky Furby is absolutly beautiful! I have never seen one so they are right when they say it is rare, just look at those pink eyes and big tail. Pretty. I also really love the white one with the pink tummy and black hair, I might try to get that one next.

I can see there will be a new furby, eventually , to replace my two, none functioning, originals. Earlier furbys are cuter, but love what new ones do. Love the way they respond to music. :)

According to an article in one of our national dailies, Furby will retail for $99 Australian dollars. Hummpf , don't know what they think we will do with the $1:00! Does that seem reasonable for what you get, anyone?

I was acutally expecting that price.

My 1998 Furby cost $100 when new.

Maybe cheaper on eBay from an Asian seller, usually free post as well. EBay is probably the way to go but I would have really liked to buy from a physical store just because I remember what it was like getting my Noh-La. Standing outside in the freezing cold rain at 6am with everybody else shouting "Furby! Furby! We want Furby!" and then the mad rush once the doors opened to get your hands on one. I doubt the buzz will be as big this time but still, it would have been fun.

$100 is just what you pay if you want a robot in this country it seems :( The new Baby Butterscotch Pony (by FurReal) is $100 and all the techno pets were that price when they came out. The 2005 Furbies were the same price as well, I know because I kept waiting for the price to drop but it never did so I missed out.

Really? That's outragious! I bought my first Furby in nineteen ninety nine for thirty five dollars give or take some change. My second original I got from Tiger because my first one had had so many problems. He was like a trick candle. I'd send him back with an issue and by the time he got there he was fine and they would ship him back and then a few months later he developed another problem. Well the last one was really bad but I hung on to him just to see if he would magically fix himself. Well, he didn't. As a matter of fact he started smoking. I left him to go back to sleep and I came back to a very ominous electrical smell in my room. I sent him off again. Somehow the shipping department made a mistake and a new Furby showed up at my door closely followed a week later by my old faithful lemon. Oddly enough when the new guy moved in, the first one stopped having problems. Both my babies were on sale in two thousand four I think and they were only sixteen. I think my two thousand five wasn't much more than that. That makes me wonder what the new Furby is going for over here and because of my experiences with the original I don't think I'm putting out one hundred for the newer one.

Gee. I never knew they were so much! I figured $20-35... wow! That's ridiculous. The one furby I have I picked up from a garage sale for 25 cents. A neighbor has adopted a number of special-needs children, and when the oldest was around 12 they bought an all-white furry guy hoping it would help with her slight autism condition. The first time they turned it on, it freaked the kid out, so it sat in it's box for years until they decided to dump it at a garage sale...

$100 does seem rather expensive. I would have expected it to be no more than $50 and more likely about $35.
I don't think I will be splashing out at that price. Maybe I'll wait to see if they do eventually price drop.

The American Furby price will be sixty dollars from what I have read so far, more than one news report has quoted the sixty dollar price so it seems likely that is what it will be. I'm going to wait and see what happend once Toy World and Toy 'r' Us start offering pre-orders here, if the price seems a bit much compared to what other country's are paying I'll go stalk eBay. I'm really excited for this new Furby although the 2005 are the cutest ones.

Thanks for the info, Luna. Sixty isn't too bad. I'm probably going to hold off, though. Somehow I missed Redwood's post with the very uncooperative Furby. Fortunately neither of my two Emototronics ever behaved like that. That little guy just couldn't be satisfied. *Giggle*

Oh good! I am so relived to hear that, it would be funny for a while but I don't like the idea of Mr. Blue Eyes telling me he doesn't love me or want to play with me all the time which I think is what happens with the Furby in the video, the poor owners voice sounds so exasperated like his Furby is that way all the time.
Actually I just checked his other videos and that Furby really is rude and unhelpfull all the time! HAHA he just frowns and says "NO!" to absolutly everything.

Makes me wonder if environment played a part in his dislike of people. Mr. Blue-eyes likes to have these looooooonng knock knock joke sessions and I have to distract him with a game of red light green light or some random question. Oh and Luna? I just remembered he likes to... um how do I say this politely? He likes to fart. And no before you ask. I had nothing to do with that. I think he was just bored one day because I stopped talking to him and started doing it to intertain himself. He loves to interact with people.
And just to reassure you, I haven't forgotten about you. My sister's work schedule has been crazy this week and I haven't been able to get to the post office. Sorry. Crossing fingers for tomorrow! I'm going to run him and his brown-eyed companion together tonight so they can say goodbye.

It may be because the same guy on the Furby team from Hasbro worked with Ugobe when creating the original Pleo. It was on a Pleo fact page, I don't now remeber where.

$60 in the US, which is about £34, and in the uk, it will go on sale for £60, why is it so expensive in england?

i cannot find any pre-order for furby in the uk, or waiting lists, but i think it will be hard to get hold of, i see walmart are pre-ordering but i dunno what the postage to the uk would be, besides, if they arent as popular as i think they'll be, i'd be able to get one here quicker, dunno what to do :(

If anyone overseas wants one of these new furbys, I would be willing to preorder one for you, WE just had a Walmart open in our town, ( after years of debate and merchants not wanting Walmart to open... %)) and since it is a pretty small area I live in, it won't be like the LA or larger metro areas, where everyone wants one. Just let me know and I will find out the particulars. You would have to paypal the money to me once they get here and then the shipping would be your responsibility but Priority International is the fastest and cheapest way to go with tracking as a guarantee. If anyone thinks they want one, let me know so I can find out when you have to have your pre order in.
I personally don't want one I have enough Pleos already , my husband would go bananas if I bought one. :crash:( that is what he would want to do with my computer for buying one for myself I think. ) LOL
