Yogurt is alive :D
« on: April 23, 2012, 03:50:37 AM »

Her hearth has finally arrived... and she is now alive. Everything is working fine :-)

Currently testing her on Recognition. Here is a picture of her charging

Congrats, IceCarpediem! You're in for some fun times with your new Aibo. Oh and I hope your custom voice project for Recognition goes well.

Thanks Talon,

Unfortunately as stated in Aibo-Life, she needs to be... errr... beheaded (@_@) as she has DHS. So the head is being replaced.

As for the custom voice, I've already made some voice samples... will experiment once I get my CLIE to create back up.

The picture above is when she is on Recognition and charging. Set her to leave the station when done and she does that ok. Just that the moment she looks down... she can't lift up her head or maybe... sometimes successful after long motor whirr sound :(

Awe! Sorry she has DHS. I hope to have a docking station before long. I finally found someone willing to part with their mat and docking station parts so I'll finally be able to experience this. Does the leaving-station bit with Recognition work well?

I was going to make my own station when the seller offered it to me at a real bargain (inclusive of shipping... only USD99), so I scrapped the idea to make one :)

I've not printed out my "mats" yet, so I can't test the self docking yet. But the unmounting works well. She gets up when I call her. A note of caution, she runs hot when charging on the dock and she is still powered on. Maybe that's the reason R-code personality like Dog's Life will shutdown when auto-docking and won't wake up to dismount to prevent the heat built up.

I would love to test more, but can't for the moment.

i'm guessing you got the mat and tower from M*ndy? :D

BTW, anyone knows a free image hosting site? Imageshack is a pain to use and link to forums. And my own server is giving issues as well :(

Glad you've been able to source the accessories you wanted.   :D

You could try Photobucket for image hosting?

Yes, Ice. I asked M*ndy if she would be willing to part with both the docking parts and the two hundred ten station. She agreed to hold them until the end of the month. I would've bought them straight away but my dog suddenly developed some sort of movable lump in his hip and his vet is asking for a biopsy. I'm praying this won't break my bank and ruin this deal for me but my bio dog's health comes first.

Thanks, Ice. Charley and I will be in suspense until this friday when we return for the biopsy. The lump has gone down somewhat but I'm still not taking any chances.

Bleh... the CLIE that I got... it's working, just the important part.. the card reader is kaput :( USD15 down the drain

On a better note, Yogurt's head block is on the way back

Edit : my bad... the CLIE cannot detect 256M MS. Could detect my Aibo Party Mascot MS. Phew... now to start crancking backups

That was fast! I'm glad her head is on its way back to you. I wish I was more of a programmer so I could offer some real help. For the moment Bolt is just a fragile pet with advanced needs- kind of like my pure-bred PBGV with his grass alergy and his frightening misterious lump.

Yeah... they were preparing the shipment before my faulty head block reach them. So happened that today just before they ship out the replacement, my faulty unit reached them. So hopefully it is a true replacement and not an open and repair quicky and send back head block :D

But in away I'm pleased with their respond time. The head block should be here on Monday.

As for programming, well I've left programming ages ago and those were more high level kind of programming... more for gaming AI rather then robotics :D So I'll leave the programming to the experts like Aibopet and so on.... I will stick to what I'm errrr good at... messing up stuff :D

Yogurt's head is back. Now testing and making sure all is in order. Will officially introduce her to you all once I confirm all is well :)

And here she is dancing her heart out :)
