I've been hearing around that Toyota bought Sony's robotics division, can anyone confirm this? If so, maybe the Aibo will be making a comeback. I sure hope so!

I tried to google this last night, and the articles that I found were dated exactly 4 years ago yesterday, August 23, 2007.  The day after, Sony said that the rumors weren't true.  There wasn't anything more recent than that.  I do have a patient that owns a Toyota dealership, so the next time I see  him, I'll ask him to look into it for me.  Interesting though.....I wish there would be a return of the Aibo.

That would be awesome if your friend knew something but, I doubt there will be an 'Aibo' return..   Maybe a small chance that they might make some sort of dog robot but I wonder if them buying the robotics division means they also bought the name 'aibo' Sony still sells some small items for them.. Not that it would matter what they were called but I guess we'll see.
