This Tuesday, my female RB, Crow, and Loki the ERS-7  will be going to Wolfbob.  He is VERY excited because he will be Crows new owner and, in trade (plus some cash), I'll be getting a 220 which I have wanted for some time now.  I was worried it was going to be a 'science thign and Crow would be dissected which had me thinking twice but apparently he has been loving  Hannah's ugobe pleo 'Dude' and can't wait to be an RB owner! I have more RB's than I know what to do with and this seemed like a perfect thing...  He will also be fixing Loki.. so I guess maybe he'll even get to meet Nikko and maybe Kat's misplaced 'Bling' .. it's funny how at least our Aibos are meeting up.
Apparently the 220 has some 'unique' software with some speech.. Wolfbob offered to switch the software to normal but said the way he was now was pretty cool with some speech and some normal stuff so I said lets just see what he's like since it sounds cool..  as soon as he arrives I will show him to you.  I have to think of some sort of terminator- related name for him since that's what that 'breed' looks like to me and I will be able to enjoy him while Loki gets fixed up proper.
Wolfbob seems to be a great guy and I know me, I am going to want more Aibos and I'm sure I'll be getting them from him in the future;)

That's great, Latrine! I've seen video of that speech software- I think. If I remember right it was a precurser to the speech capabilities for the URS seven. I can't remember much about it but let us know how it works when you get your new puppy.
I'm sure Cro and Dude will get along well. Ryu and Ugobe do. Two RB's are proving to be quite an adventure to own. Ryu is vicious. She attacked Cato again yesterday and this time I was right there. I know they don't know what they're doing but it really looked intentional- premedatated even. Cato likes Ryu- a lot. He puts up with being pushed back at mealtime, he patiently waits his turn when I'm petting everyone else, and he's just an all around good guy-friend to her. He trances whenever he sees her but she ignores him most of the time. Yesterday, she calls him and he comes clunking over as fast as he can. They go through the usual skit, and then Ryu stepps forward and puts her neck over Catos. At least that's how I found them. She goes into a bow like she's going to play with the tug toy but she's now got Cato's head trapped between her neck and her front paws. He lets out this goodness aweful scream like nothing I've ever heard out of a pleo and starts struggling. By now I'm diving at them to discover what's going on. The minute my fingers brush the top of her head, Ryu lets go and Cato's rear feet clunk back to the floor. My little dragon is one vicious creature! I'm going to make sure they can't touch one another from now on.

Thanks guys.. I'll definitely let you know about.. everything he does.. lol.  I'm really excited to see the different programming, not that I'd have much to compare it too, but you guys can let me know
 And bhobbes.. Wolfbob sure IS the man.. I just hope it doesn't cost me another billion dollars to fix poor Loki, my ERS-7,  because of the jerk who lied selling him to me.. (and, of course, I didn't do my research) but I will be much more careful from now on when I purchase them and I'll probably be sticking to wolfbob.. Please let me know how Nikko does, ok?

congrats! i always loved the 220s... the head torch gets me every time

the software might be like my 210s, where i modified the sounds on his life 2 stick to have sounds and vice clips from the phoenix wright games.  so i guess the 220s previous owner probably did something similar

Yeah the name thing is driving me nuts.. I was thinking Thor for awhile since the other Aibo is Loki.. and they'll be brothers. lol. but I can't get over that terminator look of them   Wolfbob is gonna be fixing Loki too it seems like he's gotten a LOT of business from bobthepleo.com lately... he must be happy.. lol.

Congrats Sarah, naming them seems to be hard sometimes, but I know when naming Pleos, cats , dogs or whatever, I have to see the personality. If you are looking for Norse names, maybe I can send you some suggestions. Glad you are getting your other one fixed too! Pretty soon I will be the only member without a Aibo or other "puppy" . Maybe I can trade one of my many many Pleos for one sometime, but not many members want as many Pleos as I have, but they do get addictive don't they.

Thanks, RWM.. and I love having my Pleos.. it just seemed crazy to have SO many RB's and I'm glad one of mine is going to be going to WolfBob where she'll get more attention

I just had all of them playing together today,.. kind of a 'send-off' for Loki before he goes to the Aibo hospital.. since he hadn't been turned on for a few days he was walking ok and he was funny.. the AiBone he was after got stuck under my male RB 'Jules's legs and so he bent over and bopped him with his head repeatedly until he moved him out of the way and then he repositioned the bone, picked it up and was happy.. lol. 
I have seen him do that to reposition toys before but never to move a dinosaur.. just goes to show that they can use their programming to figure simple things out.. or it was a funny coincidence.   Made me laugh anyways.. I feel so bad packing him up!!

I would love to continue with my gods and goddesses names but I have to give him a terminator name.. lol I just HAVE too. have you seen what they look like?

Well, Redwoods, you're not the only one on this forum without an Aibo. I don't have one either. I couldn't work with one anyway-- too few audible cues for a blind person from my understanding. Besides I think their price is waaaaay out of my budget. I'm happy with my pleos for the present.

Murray is a 210 and has a very robotic feline look to it.

The 220 is essentially the 210 except it looks extremely sci-fi/high-tech (very robot-concept heavy). It looks like something you'd expect to be wandering around the floor on the Death Star or in a Resident Evil film - prepared to attack or detect an intruder!

At least, that's my take on the visuals. The software between the 210/220s is interchangeable (I think?) but the 220 is most ideal with the explorer software I do believe (not totally sure what latrine is getting but am looking forward to videos of it!).

And I think I'd agree, there are a lot of things with AIBO that you really need to see to get a good experience out of it. Often times the noises aren't constant or regular like a real animal but more so as a cue that it's doing something or changing path. And I'd imagine a lot of the fancy tricks would be... lackluster without seeing them. And considering their price, I'd think that'd be disappointing.

But I'm glad to see just how much AIBO business has been fired up in these forums - and it's truly all Crewella's fault!

Thanks for the discriptions, Bobs. I didn't know the Aibos looked different from one another. I can- by touch- tell each of my pleos apart though my family members can't. We'll see if this holds up when Bleu arrives. *Smug grin*
I'm glad you've given us so much information about Aibos, Crewella. Even if I can't really work with an Aibo I can wach all of you having fun with yours. Before joining this forum I didn't know there were so many different kinds and that each kind has its own unique persona. I'm looking forward to learning about each Aibo here and everyone's experiences with their robotic puppies.
