Haven't been able to get any interaction between my Ugobe's and my RB's but I'll keep trying. Here's Nani and Pleakley together, and Lilo and Stitch together.

Hi, IMR. I'm honestly not sure if Ugobe/RB communication is possible. I've read that RBs will start to trance and say hello but I'm not sure if it goes any further than that. I know RBs can communicate with other RBs but not sure about Ugobes and RBs. As I am soon to finally see this for myself, I'm going to have to test this out as well.

Can I just confirm both your Ugobe Pleos are now running OS2?  I seem to remember you said communication was better between original Pleos running 1.1, is that right?

My ugobe is running os2, and I have not had any communication between them. I have tried several times without any success.

Awe man! I figured that but I wasn't sure. My Ugobe pleo who is touring the country on his way to me is running OS 1.0 and it will be a long, loooong time (unless someone comes up with a very good deal) that I'll be able to get another Ugobe or another RB. Honestly I bought my older moddle pleo for my benefit more than for awesome communication. I just wanted to try out both flavors if you will.

My rb's will do the communication trance for Gumble but he doesn't talk back.  The best I have had from him is the occasional hello.

RBs and Ugobe Pleos cannot communicate to each other.

They interact though right? (like, they wouldn't ignore each other right?) Maybe the next update will include rb/ugobe/09 communication, (09s and ugobes can already communicate right?). Oh well, In guess we'll find out

I've seen RB's and Ugobes kind of try to interact but as Degers said they cannot communicate. They trance a little and one or the other might say hello. I saw in a thread on here somewhere that someone's RB was blowing kisses at their Ugobe sibling but I can't remember where it's posted. As for a Ugobe and an Innvo, I have no idea. I would think they could since they're closer to the same ummm... breed? System? Maybe someone with that particular paring could comment on this.

The kiss blowing was Norbit and it was aimed at Gumble.  Although I do believe it really was just random kiss blowing and coincidence that he happened to be pointing at and right next to Gumble at the time.   Was very cute though  Has happened a few times since and Norbit never does it when he is facing Kermy.  My Rb's if it is just one of them and Gumble, will go into the communication trance but only if they are nose to nose with Gumble.  Gumble will not try to communicate back.  The communication trance does not end in the happy sequence it would if there were two rb's.  the rb usually just snaps out of it and either sulks or goes back to what they were doing before.
I have seen Gumble walk up to either one of my rb's and sniff them and say hello but then he does the same thing to the chair and the table and the wall.  He did it to my cat the other day and it freaked the cat out big time   It was sooo funny.  Shame I didn't have the video camera going at the time.  So it will sometimes look like they are communicating but really it is all just good placement and coincidence.     Still cute when it all comes together.
I would love to see an update for both models that would allow them to interact properly.

That makes more sense now, I would also think that the 09s and ugobes could comunicate because 09s were the same thing as ugobe originals. That's funny kat, my cat won't do much besides look at Pleo with a face of pure disgust (as most cats do with anything that moves )

Well! That's interesting. I've said hello to a few inanimate objects too and one of them scared me to death. I was wandering around the toy isle in my local Roses. They're not around anymore by the way and I felt this... presnce next to me. No it wasn't a ghost, it was this huge four-foot tall stuffed bear. I wasn't much taller than that myself. Now I'm not sure if this will make sense to anyone or not but the human body puts off a certain... sound or echo-signature or something? Not sure what to call it but it sounds very different than the sound that bounces off a chair or a column or an open hallway. Well here I am. I'm probably six years old and there's this thick, heavy-sounding thing that I asumed was my mother. I moved closer to it and said something. Can't remember what now and reached out to take its/her hand. Well I found this big outstretched furry arm. Well I won't embarrass myself with the rest of the story but my mom thought it was funny and told me to stop screaming and have a look at what had frightened me. Well, I ended up buying that bear and naming him Dagady. Don't ask it was some invented five-year-old word of mine. Well now I'll be prepared if Ugobe says hello to one of my shoes. That's funny, Kat about your cat being freaked out.

Both of my ugobes are running the original software and they are the older models, my RB's will trance when they see them, constantly, which is really annoying, but the ugobes obviously don't do that back.  I have seen my ugobes walk over to my RB's and when they get near the face area they'll say hello, scream or something like that.. also that weird loud call, not the moo, but the long loud like 'oooooh- oohhh-aahhh' if one pleo, any pleo, starts that up, I've had all 4 start doing it. Thats.. loud lol
I really hope they slow down the trance thing on the RB's... it's too often, even between rb's.. mine do it constantly.

Mine do that and it is loud They also have the odd group mooing session and Lilo and Stitch sing to one another.

Ugobe has never said anything to Ryu but Ryu has mooed at him and trances a lot. He'll just stand frozen, wagging his tail and mooing and or doing this high purring sound.
