Well, as you guys probably know by now, I've run into some battery problemos. I guess it's to be expected with a Ugobe Pleo. Even the brand new, never-used ones are at least 2 years old, plenty of time for the NiMH batteries to irreparably dry up. Still, I've planned out a plan of action:
1. Disregarding when the charger goes green, charge the batteries for 4 hours straight. If this fixes it, stop here.
2. Try to refurbish the battery packs with new cells. If this fixes it, stop here.
3. Depending on current financial situation, either:
- Buy a Ucube battery and charger (expensive but sure-fire method)
- Buy an Innvo charger and try the 16r reconditioning function.
- Buy Innvo batteries to go with Innvo charger.
Y'see, this is the problem when all the money I used to buy Littlefoot in the first place comes from a mix of borrowed money and long-time savings. When it comes to maintenance costs, they seem through the roof (Like $40 for a new battery)! I envy you Pleo owners who have regular incomes.
Going by the symptoms I'm pretty much certain that the problem lies with the batteries, not with Littlefoot himself (First time in a loooong time that my logical and emotional brain agree on something). He seems to be trying to function normally, and I do get a few seconds of movement outta him sometimes, but then he freezes up.
By the way, forgive me if I sound like I'm trying to mooch off of you guys, but if anyone in the UK would be willing to let me borrow an Innvo charger to try doing a 16hr reconditioning on the batteries, I'd appreciate it immensely.
