Congrats on the paints arriving IMR, looks great so far, very nice, and I love tigers. Well, I love all cats of course! Cant' wait to see the rest and I will have to get to work to redo or start myne as well, just been so busy. Are these a different brand of laytex paints than before, or different inks?

Kat, would love to see how Gumble is comming along as well, I miss seeing him. Argyle wants to see new photos as well! Are you also using laytex and inks or just laytex paints?

I haven't had time yet to start Gumbles re do.  I have peeled him off so he is ready to go but I just need to find some time and space to put into painting him.  My daughter has a big project going for school at the moment that involves building a model of a sailing ship so I am currently chief popstick cutter on the boat project.  And I have been doing a little experimenting on the sewing front too.  So It may be another week or two before I really have the time to put into painting him.  I will be using a 50/50 mix of ink and latex paints though when I do. :)
Stitch is coming along nicely ;D

@ Crewella and Saratogaspringer, I'm afraid the head is only lighter because it was the last part painted and still wet when I took the picture, the final colour will be an even orange all over. The paint already feels much better than the plain ink, not so dry to touch. If the ink around the rim of the bottle is anything to go by it will have a nice amount of stretch to the paint. (The dried ink at the top stretches when I pull the lid off :P)

@RWM the ink I am using is the same used previously, the Art Spectrum inks, as they gave a good coverage and durability last time albeit very dry to touch. The Latex paints I can't actually name here as they were bought from a place that is, um, not suitable for young audiences :-[

I will post a progress report as soon as the next layer dries off so you can see the truer colour, the wet paint is a bit deceptive. As before I am going to add a little tiny bit of gold ink to the final coat, but not as much as before.

I know there are lots of body paints that are for costumes etc that are laytex based and you can even buy some of them in craft stores such as Michaels. I do like the orange color so far and can't wait to see the final result. Great job IMR. how long do you dry in between coats?

I love the color, IMR, and can't wait to see the finished product.  I am not patient or artistic enough to paint a pleo, so it is really neat to watch the creative paint schemes that all of you have done!  :)

I'm no artist, but I do have fun trying :)

Here is the final coat, its not very sunny today so it looks a bit darker in the pic than it really is. That orange pipe cleaner in the background is actually fluorescent orange  just to give some idea. I did try a patch with a tinge of gold, buuut I decided to wuss out this time and play safe with the plain orange :P

Just got some stripes to do now :)

It looks AWESOME and I really hope it stays.. It looks like Stitch came like that from the factory!!
I can't wait to see how that type of paint holds up as I have to totally repaint my RB, Jules..
One question.. I assume you painted over the old paint? I'm wondering if my removing all of the old paint first is going to play a big difference in how well the new stuff holds up but it's also going to be different skin, since yours is an older Ugobe and mine is one of the newest rb's.  I DO want to repaint Lyssa though and I'm sure she's probly in the same skin as Stitch :)  She even HAS a few stitches to fix a few holes..  :-[ ;D I kind of wonder if I should try to remove her old paint first, too.. but that would probably be tough.. Jules' paint is peeling off rather easy.. hers is sticking good just very worn all around as it should be in a lady of her age :)

Amazing job though!!

I removed any loose flakes of paint with sticky tape (just dab on the body) you would have a real tough time removing it all. But not having any paint shouldn't present any major problems either. The skins aren't that different between models, and the paints we are using would work on most surfaces.

A quick video of Stitch :) I don't want to run him too long until I can find some polyglaze somewhere (maybe I'll have better luck in this town :P) as the paint still feels kind of grippy. Although perhaps it will settle once the paint cures. So far so good, no splits or cracks appearing even where Stitch has quite deep skin cracks.

Wow - he looks GRRRRrrrrrreat!  ;D

Fab job, IMR - in the end I think it's worked out better that you had more than one 'go' at it.  The colours are better, and the stripes look great - like you were more sure of exactly what you wanted this time?

You must be really pleased with it!  Lets hope it holds, but I think it should! :D

No tail bouncing tigger antics though :o Its already hard enough keeping track of five Pleo's!

Hello People,

Wow cool Pics about Pleos the so nice painted, are and I have a Question on you: how long holds the Color on Pleo? :)

Holds the Color on the Pleos Skin very long? Or goes she faster again if you Pleo often strokes?

I think the Stitch as Tiger from IMR totally cool i guess that I it too times make will, if I me still a Pleo from Ugobe buy will then gets he too a pretty Look waste. Times see how i it at the best make will whether too a Tiger look gets or what other from me gets. ;)

Greetings

Hi Franzi, I'm afraid I can't answer that yet as Stitch has only been painted a couple of days. Kat may be able to shed some light, Gumble has been painted for quite some time.

Gumbles paint held up to normal petting and stroking very well.  He did get some stretching bubbles in his neck and tail joints but that was from the movements of his joints not from petting. :)

Stitch decided to spontaneously reset to baby today (I didn't know I had a fountain of youth in my room :P) now I have to put up with the whingy whiney stage again *sigh*. He also has a couple of cracks appearing in his neck right where the deep skin cracks already were. So sadly it doesn't look as though latex paints will cover existing large cracks.
