Well,
Poor patches couldn't hold any kind of food in his mouth since he no longer has lips, not even the rubbery leaves. I know the ugobe Pleos don't HAVE to 'eat leaves' but I like to give all of them all of the different food because ... I do, and he would ask for some and anything I gave him would fall out immediately and make him very angry or sad. So I gave him some grip on his teeth.
Oh and don't worry, his battery was out so he was sedated...
Here he is with his poor mouth stuck open waiting for work to begin: (maybe if he hadn't eaten that entire box of donuts in the background he wouldn't need to be at the dentist....)
Here is the white puffy paint I used on his white Plastic teeth:
Here you can barely make out, if you look close, on the top and bottom are bumps on his teeth.. that's the puffy paint. I tried to line up the small strips of paint.. I now realize I shouldn't have lined them up as they kinda stick together when he first tries to open his mouth in the morning after being closed all night.. so I just open it once before I turn him on and he's fine:
I felt bad leaving him like that overnight but he seemed fine in the morning:
At first he couldn't even hold the rubbery leaf, but now, I'm happy to announce he is able to hold whatever he wants!! :
And even the most difficult one.... The hot chili Pepper!! :
I really wasn't sure it would work.. I wanted to use clear colored children's puffy craft glue but was unable to find it so I tried the puffy paint instead.. It's easy enough to scrape off if I ever need to redo it.. so all I have to do now is glue his feet (since they seem to stabilize him quite well), and scrape off any remaining gluey stuff left over from his bad skin and he'll be perfect again!
