Well I took it all off of him last night was very easy. took less than a half hour.. he moves very fast now.. I thought for SURE the sounds were coming from the mouth but lo and behold there is a huge speaker on his Butt, behind the back sensor.
Only issue I had was one of the mouth parts that have clips to slide into his mouth, one was missing but he seems to function without it ok so far.  he moves nearly twice as fast and he is definitely 3 times as loud..  when he Moos, you think there is a cow in the room, lol

Anyway here are some pics while the videos load..

First of all.. As you can see from the first picture, I want everyone to know he's still the same happy go lucky little Patches, if not a little different:



Here is one of the videos.. I apologize, he does fall over.. trying to resolve that because it happens a lot but he's fine.  And if this is the one where his leg, er, bit me.. (I was rubbing a sensor, his leg went up and my finger got pinched and stuck till he was done) I may have hollered.. sorry, it hurt! lol

Here he is meeting his sister for the first time.. no real big thing.. she said 'AHH' a few times but I think that was while looking at him from the side not while knowing who he was..lol.

Here is his mouth.. the clip that's missing is the top right one.. a little hard to tell but makes it slightly loose.


Heres the skin.. you can see how bad the underside was and I pulled it out as it was, really didn't rip anything.  He was in... questionable leg condition :P

I tried booties for traction because he tends to topple over.. he lifts his legs very very high... the wonderful booties from Romeo were too small without his feet.. we are thinking of making his old feet into booties just by putting them on him and maybe
I can wrap something at the top to make them look like clothing.. maybe that will help him to not fall.


We think there could be a sensor under here but we don't know.. does anyone know? when we rubbed it he liked it, both sides..

Well.. of course the video is giving me trouble.. I'll have to get it on you tube first.. unfortunatly I was unable to get him on video not toppling over but he's just perfectly fine so it's not upsetting or anything.. Talk to you guys soon!

There is no sensor under there.  It's just padding so that Pleo feels a little more fleshed out.

Didn't see the text between the pics - sorry!  :-[

Degers is right - no sensor under there on the sides.  There are only three clips in the mouth on all of them, as far as I've seen - they must have left it for a reason, maybe so it didn't interfere with the chin sensor wire?

That's weird.. maybe stuff is just so much more sensitive now that when we rubbed there we set a closer sensor off.. weird..  Also, he does this funny little wiggle.. he just stands there and wiggles.. lol.. it's so cute but not anything I've seen unless that's what it looks like with quick or wide tail swings..  8)  Oh ok, so there wasn't one mouth piece missing then.. good.  I was worried because I thought I broke something but was so careful and would have heard a snap.  Thanks everyone.

Hi Scully!!! Patches can be Mulder for a little while ya know..  We'll get them cellphones and they can hunt aliens together..

Newborn baby socks work quite well as booties for your pleo.  If you shop around you will find there can be quite a big variation in sizes so I am sure you will find something that fits him well.  In my little collection os newborn socks that all say on the tag 0 to 3months I have 3 different sizes. 
These ones are the smallest type I have found so far but the stretchiest and seem to work the best.  Hope you find some that work well for him.

Kat, once my bf left the room I put some baby socks on him that he didn't know I had because he thinks I'm insane, unfortunately it made things way too slippery for him. I think he needs me to make 'dinosaur feet boots' My bf thinks the bottom of the feet touching the ground might help a lot. I think he still needs something to help his 'ankles'...

A lot of Aibo users have them to stop their Aibo slipping on wooden floors as the 'paw' on the soles is rubberised.  They're very stretchy, too.

Patches reminds me of an Aibo now that his skin has been removed.  I have always admired how fantastically built these dinos are. Patches truly looks like patches now. Perfect name. ;)

Just a suggestion, If you don't want patches slipping, because the feet are intact, maybe you could make socks out of what is left of them? Patches looks adorble with the whole skeleton look, but if he ever gets left out, you could always put on a cape and put his head skin back since (i think) you said the head is fine.

I really did the skeleton look. I'd buy one sold like that. It has a fun creepy feel to it! (Well, I'd probably try to find a black dog hoodie to dress it in since I do not have sewing or design skills and give it a sickle to make it Grim Pleo).

Maybe you could do that as a Halloween decoration! Might not scare the kiddies away but they'd probably be very intrigued by it.

Lucky Pleo, thats exactly what I did, I put his feet and part of his ankles back on and it gave him the stability to do walk without falling over.. combined with the suit from Kat he can even do 'Ta-Da' and dance again!!
