I had given one to a little boy and girl. Makes sounds , eyes move, eating sounds. You can ride on but does not move. Still really cute. :)

I would love to see a triceratops for the next version on pleo.  They are my favorite dinosaur.   :)  Or maybe even a mammoth.  Then they could give it the function to pick things up with it's trunk.

It doesn't move? What about when you're sitting on it? I'm not talking about "walking" movement. Even the Butterscotch Pony had a ummmm. plate thing in the center of its back that simulated walking and it could hold two hundred pounds. Always wanted a robotic horse. Can you imagine the expense if they made it fully functional and bigger? He-he!

I wouldn’t mind a grate Dane sized robot   guide diplodocus. Just because I think they look so cute and it could use its long neck to reach the products on the supermarket shelves that’s out of my own reach. Oh and it can use its long tail to whip anyone that tries to skip in front of me in the checkout cue

How cool would that be, Scaly? We wouldn't have to worry about retiring our way cool guide-animal once it reached the age of nine. I saw on some page on robotics that someone was thinking of inventing a robotic guide-dog but nothing ever came of it as far as I know.
There is a sort of... um robotic ummmm guide ummmmm thing that is being developed in Japan. From descriptions of it, it sounds like it's about the size of an eight pound floor-vac with a very long handle. It can detect obsticles kind of like the Roomba and will turn if you turn its handle. I think it also can locate points of interest if they are tagged with RFID tags. I've also read of an electronic shopping cart that can sort of tell you the locations and prices of stuff in grocery stores. Neat but still not as fun as your Great Dane-sized dream robot!

Or you could ride your 'guide' T-Rex around and dominate the earth!

That would be amazing though and a very good idea, robot guides... just scary unless you can take care of yourself should the robot break or something..  Talon, I can't believe you don't have a guide horse!  Aren't you a horse nut? Guide animals are amazing and with the longer lifespan of a horse I was so happy when I first heard about it.

Yes! I also want a mamoth for the next robot after pleo, allthough, I'm not sure if there would be alot of range in movement because of the fur they would need to put on it.

Waaaaaaaowowowow!!!! *eyes the size of dinnerplates* Hey I want to see this robotic horse!
Latrine, if I felt the need for a guide-animal I would probably prefer a horse to a dog for its longer life as you said but I've used a cane since I was five. I don't like not being able to have some sort of contact with what's in front of me, IE, steps, uneven ground. I know that sounds very strange and difficult to understand but at this point it's the best I can do. Also, if I did have a cute little guide-horse, I would want to live in a place where it could have room to run and play and be a horse while it's not on duty.
Lucky Pleo? I think you were the one talking about the mamoth. It could probably work if they mounted the fur on the shoulders and let it brush the floor so that it aham "hid" its belly and the spaces between its front and rear legs, allowing full range of motion.

Talon, that doesn't sound strange at all.. I would want to be the one in control of my own movements and be more sure of myself, if I was able, just like you.  If thats what you've done since you were very small I imagine that's what your used to and what works best :)

Wow we are sooooo off topic here. Lol! I can't remember if this was asked or not so if it was, just ignore this post and move on. Koda doesn't even have a moving plate-thing in his back to simulate walking for his rider? Does he make different sounds when someone is riding him? I've never seen him before but I have seen the Butterscotch Pony. She can support two hundred pounds. I'm only like one twenty. I so wanted to try her out but I felt really... stupid and exposed standing in the toy isle in my local Wal-Mart. I just gave her a carrot instead.

Lol!  We had two old style rocking horses come into work a couple of weeks back - I made an excuse to stay late so I could try them out in peace!  :P

I believe Kota has spring-loaded legs for bouncing, but only actually moves the head and tail.  :(

Oh! That's not so bad. I had a "Wonder Horse" when I was younger. It was mounted on a spring-loaded frame with a wooden bar through its head and was made of hard hollow plastic. It had an electronic box in its belly that took a nine-volt battery. You turned it on and bounced or rocked and it made walk or galoping noises depending on what you were doing.

A friend had a 'Wonder Horse' and I remember being green with envy!

I think Kota also plays a small selection of tunes while you ride.  Found this review - I love the way he has moving lower eyelids too - his blink looks so friendly!
