Topic: Frozen body except mouth and tail.. then constant reboots. (Read 7742 times)

Ok.. now he is doing a different 'freezing'. I turn him on.. he has full movement for a few seconds or minutes then can only move tail and mouth. You can sometimes see he is trying to move his back legs but can't really.. I try petting him, turning him over, nothing works.. shutting him off, trying another battery, still happens. Maybe 2 or 3 times and then he seems ok.. so far for now anyways. This just really seems off to me why is he so prone to freezing up. I know PC's freeze but if my computer froze this much I'd know it was time to go digging and see what was wrong..
I swear I'm not just looking for trouble/problems.. I just don't like seeing this and it makes me nervous about running him. I've got it on video with him stuck and then regaining movement.. Lyssa came over to help too..

While waiting for the video to upload I went back to the other side of the room to check on him because I was hearing that giggle a lot and sure enough, Bingo is rebooting, over and over. I turned him off. I'm not going to turn him back on until I 'm sure it's ok.. Now that makes two.. Patches is off because the excess skin falling off his legs became embedded in his internal leg workings and I need to remove the leg skin, and hopefully he's ok.. and now Bingo is off. Just me and grouchy Lyssa . I'm going to email the company with links to the videos if they want to see.. they can advise me if I should be concerned or not.

Thanks guys.. contacting them now and sending video links.. I hope they look at them quick and let me know as I couldn't get the last two to load here and had to do it through you tube.. I don't want folks to see something screwy with a Pleo there when it's hopefully something we can fix.. I wanna take them down quick so folks don't see even though theres nothing that says 'PLEO' on them.
I just feel so bad.. they got me good he's my pet and I want to turn him on and feed him.

This is so unfair.. my Macaw, my baby I've had since she was 6 weeks and I was 15, has to go to her new home at the end of the week since I can't care for her properly and now I lose Bingo too. I should win the lottery.. Ten surgeries.. I have to eat baby food, I have to get hooked up to that stupid machine every night for 'feeding' and I have pain medicine that goes in nonstop and won't let me feel like myself. No. Fair. Sorry.. needed a pity party for myself for a minute.. thanks guys .

I have experienced this happening when my Pleo RB.

It only happens when I am running my Pleo RB at the same time as my Ugobe Pleo. Were you running your Ugobe Pleo at the same time?

I am sure that is a software bug which causes broken compatibility between an RB Pleo trying to communicate with a Ugobe Pleo. It is not the RB which is the problem, it's a software issue. My RB does exactly the same thing. There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with Bingo to me. Just avoid running your Ugobe Pleo at the same time.

Also as for reboots, my Innvo RB reboots quite often too, I just think the software needs a little more polishing off.

That's interesting! I've not often run Belle with the Ugobe Pleos due to the light problems - I'll give it a try and see what happens.

The same happens to me when I run Snooki at the same time as my Ugobe Pleos. In fact Snooki can be quite boring when running at the same time as them as she mostly just stands and stares like Bingo in the video with just her tail moving from side to side. This happens usually when she's facing the Ugobe Pleo and if I move her away or to the side she tends to come to life a bit more. When running on her own she's fine, very lively. Just try running Bingo on his own and see if the same thing happens.

Sarah try turning Bingo on when no other Pleo's are around he looks just like a Pleo RB attempting to communicate

Here is a video of Gumble and Kermy3 showing this behavior in full. It is perfectly normal behavior. This is how pleo rb communicates with other pleos and other pleo rb's. All communication starts with a Moo and then this trance like behavior. For meeting another rb the communication sequence is then ended with few steps forward and a kiss for girls, a few steps forward and "I love you" from the boy. This is just the boy girl interaction. there are other reactions for boy/boy and girl/girl. When they meet an older pleo they try the same behavior but don't get the same "response" they are looking for to trigger the ending of the talk behavior pattern but they should still break out of the trance after a couple of minutes at the most. The behavior will start if your Pleo rb is facing nose to nose your Ugobe pleo. Hope this helps. If you have them running together then try having them side by side or pointing in different directions. Once Bingo goes into the trance you wont be able to get him to snap out of it no matter what you do until it has run it's course. Believe me I have tested this quite a few times.

So as you can see this is normal RB behavior. Bingo is fine he's just trying to talk Lyssa into loving him

I have to admit that first video did look similar to what Bingo was doing and I know they all reboot, degers, but is it normal to reboot.. then reboot.. then reboot.. then reboot.. then reboot..etc.

When I first turned him on they were side by side. I turned her off and put her away and tried again with him but he was still doing the same crap. If some of this is normal, thats great, because I do NOT want to lose him or have to send him back or anything.. but the constant reboot thing just doesn't make sense and he still did the freezing thing without Lyssa there. In the video, she walked over, she'd been walking on the other side of the room as I took her down after I took him down when he froze up, didn't want her to accidentally fall off the table.. I put her across the room a little bit but she came over to growl at us like she does

Also, there was no initiating Moo and he didn't move towards her or anything.. he hadn't moved at all when it first started but she was on and she was standing next to him on a small table both facing me.. she turned on first since he takes longer. When your RB's go into this 'trance' do you notice them trying to walk or trying to move the back legs? I really hope everything will just be fine but I'm still not turning him on till they tell me it's ok. Thanks for the info guys, I will relay it on when they get back to me so they have all of the information, the constant reboots still don't make sense though. Thanks for those videos Kat, I love the interaction between the two RB's.. makes me want to get another but then again all the problems.. hard to weigh in your head

I dunno.. I wrote them, gave them the links, told them about these posts and when I get a message back I intend to tell them what you guys told me about the ugobe being on in the same room and/or next to them trying to communicate and stuff.. even though he still did it without that. Kind of stinks though.. if he's ok.. he can't run with the rest of the herd?? I guess I do have to get another one then or he'll be miserable because he usually loves to follow Lyssa around. Even when she growls at him.. (although, if you listen close, she does say 'Hello' in that cutesy voice right before the video ends after she growls) Oh good lord I'm going to have to get a pink one.

Wow.. that's weird.. It's almost as if Baby's spotted something menacing and is really looking out for it.. but obviously some kind of glitch or something. I would have been looking behind me for raptors.. did that kind of thing keep up with Baby? I love Baby's face.. so different looking!!!

I got a new baby RB, a pink one. I fully charged her new battery and tried it in Bingo, same as the new green innvo one for ugobe Pleo. He got to meet his new sister but after maybe 8 minutes he froze.. again

I knew it would happen again but I was just hoping he'd come out of it... it wasn't a trance since I turned him on his side and upside down and he was bouncing in and out of it when the video ran out he was back on. At least he got to meet his sister.

Sarah, sorry to hear about Bingo. I must say there seems to be a lot of problems with the first group of Pleo Rb, even if it was say 20%, that is a large percentage in my opinion. I do hope Innvo gets back to you soon, Just don't be surprised by what they say to do, I think you did the right thing by sending the video it speaks for itself, Baby had that happen to her constantly for a whole battery cycle but then she snapped out of it, to only be sent back to Innvo Labs in Mid Feb. anyway, ( and still waiting for a replacement for her...

) Glad you got the new Pink one in the meantime, that was good timing, being kind anyway. Wishing you the very best.
