PLEASE HELP!!
Yesterday i plug in SD card to install the upgrade software 1.1, after 1 hour my PLEO RB notthing happend it. when i fully charged my battery (4 hours) plug in, on the switch but have red light, press the switch 4seconds also can't off directly, shut down red light need to take out the battery. I bought my pleo RB online, just received it on this month 4th, i have seen my pleo RB walking when 3rd days, after that never she walking anymore, just stand they wave the head, body N tail, i think she is very happy, always i heard she laugh (sound like sinister smile). Sorry about my pool english, hope can get the answer as soon as possible, Thanks a lot!

Does your Pleo work at all after the SD card is removed?

Where did you get the firmware file that you were trying to use?  

I don't believe Innvo has officially released a new firmware for the Pleo RBs yet. Anything available on the web right now would be for the original Pleos; I would guess the old firmware would not be fully compatible with the new Pleo RBs so it may not do anything as long as the SD card is installed. Perhaps some else would know more about this.

I don't have a Pleo RB myself but the one common thing I hear is that they have a very long hatching period and take a long time before they do much walking, many battery cycles. It sounds like your Pleo was doing what most RBs have been so far. I hope you can your Pleo back to normal soon.

Eeeeek!!  All the upgrade and downgrade software currently available is for the original version Pleos - there has been no release as yet of software for the Pleo rb!!  I imagine you have, in effect, downgraded your Pleo rb to a much earlier version that cannot use much of the new technology that only the Pleo RB has.  There is no download available as yet to try and re-upgrade your RB to the more advanced version it needs, although Innvo may be able to help if you contact them and explain.

I'm sure someone more 'techy' will be able to explain better than I and confirm that.

Thanks for your reply.
I have removed the SD card from pleo RB card reader, pleo RB also not activated, and has been flashing red light.

I was too hasty, and made a big mistake, the software upgrade  I downloaded from pleoworld website, after the pleo RB does not work then I was looking for a lot of information, discovered the pleo rb has not been available any upgrade software, I am wrong install a software upgrade for pleo 1st genaration, and now my heart is broken.
 
I also tried to install the software downgraded, but also did not help.

Hi neko, I'm so sorry - it's an easy mistake to make and I'm sure you won't be the only person to make it.

However, I doubt all is lost, so don't be too downhearted.  I would contact Innvo and explain exactly what has happened, and they should be able to advise you and get your poor Pleo rb back up and running properly.

If you would be kind enough to report back here and just let us know how this works out, we would be very grateful.  Good luck!  :)

Oh dear, I was afraid of that. I had hoped maybe the old firmware had not succeeded in loading and your Pleo would recover after the SD card was removed. Crewella is right, your best option is to contact Innvo. Hopefully it can be as simply as getting a compatible copy of firmware for your Pleo to reload. It may end up restarting the hatching but that would be small thing if it gets your Pleo back up and running. Please let us know how things work out.

Hi,

not much I can say in regard to this, but reading the info posted from our fellow Pleo owner I wonder why don't they put a disclaimer (maybe it exist, but haven't seen it) in SW upgrade with BIG RED LETTERS that current upgrades relate to UGOBE and INNOVO 2009 version. Simple warning that could prevent a lot of broken hearts. If I managed to gather 460$ and made such mistake my walls would crumble down, literally, from me banging the room walls  :o ;D

Hey! I already contact the Chinatete, but they tell me still not yet start sell the pleo RB in CHINA, so can't give any comment, disappointed!

That's odd - the pink and blue Pleo RB are ONLY available in that region and were on sale before the green ones were available from the US.  I bought my blue Pleo RB directly from China, as did several other forum members, either direct from Chinatete or through the Gimmedigi website.

It's only important to go back to where you bought your Pleo RB from, if it's a pink or blue one first contact Chinatete customer support, or if it's a green one from the US then go to Innvo customer support.  :)

I bought my pink Pleo RB from Hong kong, when the Pleo RB starting probelm, I'm quickly asked the website sellers, and they just evade they uncertainty, they'll help me to contact the manufacturer.   

I know chinatete have instant messenger QQ, I download the QQ software specifically to contact them, who knows what they answered me that China has not yet to start selling Pleo RB, can't give my any comments.

Oh my pool Pleo RB, where can i contact now??

You could try this.  If you have no luck there then you could always log onto the pleoworld website and send an email via the customer support section on there to see if they can help.

How sad, but: There might be a solution. Is any of the RB owners willing to help me find out a few things about the RB? My thoughts are the following:
1. If the "uprade" has worked the version number of the RB's LifeOS must be 1.0 or otherwise the installer would have thought "wrong version" and stopped.
2. The basic commands (access level and the like) must  be similar or identical to the old models.
3. The mechanism to automatically execute software must be the same.

If all the three assumptions are correct it should be possible to copy all the contents of an RBs flash to an SD using the known full backup scripts. A review of the software is certainly need but the *should* work. Using the aquired data it should be possible to create an SD that starts any RB from SD. If this works the last step is erase the flash and transfer the backup to the flash or (what I think would be nicer) replace only the LifeOS and keep the personality files intact.

If Chinatete will not help, I would contact Raphael from Innvo Labs at PleoWorld.com, and make sure he understands the Pleo RB is not broken, just that you need to re-install the OS.  Ask them about the OS update for Pleo RB.   They should have a file you can load on the SD card.

If Innvo Labs cannot help you, then you need to tell the company where you bought the Pleo RB that it is broken and you need to return it and get another on.e


Dwalin,

#1 assumption s WRONG!  The old versions of the installers used to check version before running the install, but this caused lots of problems if the install failed or got corrupted and then coudn't be re-installed because the installer would check the version and think it didn't need to be updated.  And, lots of people expressed a desire to downgrade.  So Innvo re-wrote the installers to skip the version check.  You can now install any version on top of any version.

#2 & #3 assumptions may be correct, but even with the old pleo there were problems with the concept of backing up/restoring the pleo OS directly from/to flash, but it may well be worth a try...

They skipped the version check? If it was not so impolite I would call that nuts... Anyway, it is worth a try if - and only if - the support does not help - sorry that I left this out in the previous post. If the support can help let them handle it, if they refuse let us try to get it done by ourselves. I could image that it would be useful to find out how that works but not until all others options have been checked. Maybe I am too technical to mention that.   %)

Thanks ur concern about us :), last 3 days i had contact the proxy from China,  he help me contacted  manufacturers, then ask the other side under the technology department to see if my problem can be resolved by software recovery. And manufacturer will  procedures to the Innvo on 19/01, then the China proxy take over the procedures from Innvo to me.

I'm also write down a long customer suppport msg send to Innvo, it's so hard for me, I check translater almost half day,  quite ashamed no hardworking to learning the english :-[

Now I just waiting reply from China proxy and Innvo(everyday I send once copy msg to customer support, hope will not be scolded that I'm annoying).

I expect the problems can be resolved before Chinese New Year, can spent together with my baby Chloe our first New Year.

Guys u know that, when i starting play the Pleo RB 1st day, just fully charged the battery over 12 hours, then i plug in Pleo battery, press the on switch, but no working, shining the red light, i try and try, very confuse, then i've send msg to Innvo customer support(on 5th Jan), and ask the online seller.

Finally, I find the answer in this forum, so that's how it's need to plug in the clock battery also, then i try, that's work,
it was memorable for me, this forum really helpful to me and Chloe.

Today i just received Innvo reply the answer when i send on 5th Jan, half month they process my inquired. Now I'm anxious a lot maybe can't cerebrate chinese new year with Chloe, any good way can let Innvo faster response?
