This is SUCH culture shock!! They have vegemite/marmite, but have never heard of 'I Love Lucy' ("LUCY!! YOU GOT SOME EXPLAINING TO DO!!") Hehe, that is as American as apple pie!
However, as far as this thick gunky yeasty thing, I think I'll let all you folks keep it. It just looks like black tar. To each his own, eh? (Trust me, I've ate some 'adventurous' stuff too)
And for Brookeville, hehehe they're pretty much the same. We are a pretty small town (A LOT more than 6 folks though)
Here's our govt site-http://www.ci.brooksville.fl.us/

Is there any way you can see the old reruns of I Love Lucy? She was the best comedian ever. If you can find any, please watch some of the episodes. Besides being so funny, it will show you what the 50's were like here in America. My favorite episodes where: Lucy at the chocolate factory, Lucy door to door sales person.(she was doing home per menants.) and had to put some pocket curls, named that because if you over process hair it breaks off roller and all. You had no choice but to hide them in your pocket.(poor ladies) and Lucy stomping on grapes for wine.
BTW, I was a cosmetologist years ago and never had a pocket curl. TG! ;D

Ha ha I agree with fancyfont, I loved the chocolate factory one. I think (if you live in US) that you can rent and buy the episodes at a video store and they sometimes come up on TV Land if you have the channel. They're really funny :)

Wow Brooksville has a website ??? Lol I was the only person in Brookeville who even knew what the internet was :P
I asked my Nan and Pa about I love Lucy, Pa thinks he might have an episode or two somewhere in his old video collection, he said he'll take a look for me later :)

I hope your pa still has a video or two of Lucy. Once in awhile I'll see an episode on TV and can't resist watching it. Still as funny as ever. :)
