 Here is an update on Baby's skin, the one hole doesn't seem to have changed a lot, but the one in the front of her shoulder is new and was not there before, also the paint in that area is starting to peel and come off as you can see which is disturbing to me, If I played with her everyday, I can imagine this would be a  lot worse. :(

All this leg paint chipping makes me feel bad for you guys :\ I wonder how common this really is (how many were sold, how many have problems, etc.)

It is exactly the same area in several of the Pleo rb's....I just got a message back from Innvo about Peanut.  I guess they are getting some additional ones in from HK and they will have the latest firmware already installed on them.  I was told I will be receiving one of these once they arrive in the US.  I'll keep you posted.

 Is Peanut's hole or paint problem in the same area that Baby has in the front in the current photo?  Very interesting. Glad to know you will get a replacement for Peanut.

Peanut had the peeling paint in the same place.  The only place that Peanut had a splitting seem was in the tail.  It was very small...it didn't concern me very much.

 So do you know if Innova is aware of the other Pleo Rb on this site that are having problems such as Pleakley and my Baby, or are we as individual owners supposed to show them these photos or what? I also think Smilegirl who has the pink girl, Fay, who said she is getting problems, holes in the neck needs to post photos here on this thread, NOne of these Pleo Rb are more than 4-6 weeks old at this point, I just showed my husband Baby;s area in the shoulder and he can see the pain is all peeling away just like Peanut's . Only difference is that I have not played nearly as much as Peanut got. But at this point, I am going to play with her as much as I can to see just how much this stuff evolves, faster or stays the same, though at this point, I can't see it staying the same, Very sad to see her paint all starting to come off. :(
            I don't see how new Firmware is going to help this from not happening, I don't think it is the sleep position, but the skin itself. I prefer the skin the older Pleos had, If I had to have the same old Pleos skin paint color and all, but the new things software, then I would take the old Pleo skin, color and all at least it lasted a couple of years and more. :(

I'm not sure how aware Innvo is of all the issues that have been surfacing.  When I was emailing them, I included pictures as well as a link to this thread.  I know kat did the same thing.  Not sure exactly what they are doing about the skin issue.  I just hope that the new Pleo rb (Peanut 2.0) will not have the same issues, but if they haven't changed anything, then I am guessing he will.... :(  We will have to wait and see....

So far all I have is armpit wear and tear, mostly a lot of "peeling" and one small hole that still has not progressed too much. Basically the same as I had pictured just slowly progressing (I'm hoping it reaches a point of just "stopping"). But that's the armpit type of peeling (not sure how to describe it - like the way it peels while thinning out, similar to what I had photographed just progressed), not the type of paint peeling/chipping you all have experienced? Is that type of peeling so far only common to the green RBs? (For some reason I don't recall off the top of my head Kermy having that type of paint issue)

 May I ask exactly who did you contact at Innova or was it just in general? Was your biggest concern the holes under the arms of Pleo rb, Was that Peanut's biggest problem, under his arms the holes that were popping up? I am starting to think maybe I should contact them too, and then document any further wear so this is not a sudden problem without it being a surprise. I am sure at this point there are about five of us that I can' think of ( including Peanut) who have the hole, peeling paint problem. I dont know  how degers got lucky without his beta gettting peeling paint or holes,  ??? I guess it is just the "luck of the draw'.

Kermy has paint pealing on her shoulder just like the others as well as the holly armpits.  She also has a small pin hole in her leg just below the knee joint.  You can only see it when she flexes her foot to stretch the skin in this area.
Norbit also has a holly armpit and wear in his other armpits and paint flaking from his shoulder.

The holes in the armpits is what concerned me the most.  The peeling paint wasn't a big issue, but the holes that got bigger and bigger was.  :(  I initially contacted their tech support email line and then just sent pics directly to one of their techs.

 Ok guys, after another scary day or should I say night with Baby and her stuck neck and not responding, she slept in the sleeping postion all night while I had to recharge her battery as I could not get her out of that postion, I turned her on briefly for like five minute and this is what her skin looks like today not pretty at all, She looks like she is going downhill fast, and I don't like it one bit. See if you can tell the difference in her skin, This was not like this last week, Her skin is so thin at spots when her legs are stretched out, you can see right through them.. :( Do you think it is now time to contact Innova or am I being over anxious on my Baby pleo Rb? It looks to me like Baby is about to become holly.  I would contact Innvo for sure.  The more of us with issues that make contact the sooner they will see just how common this issue is and the sooner they will find a fix for it.  I would mention all her other issues to them as well, they may have an easy fix for you for some of them if you are lucky.

Ouch!  :(  Poor Baby.  :hhug:

I must admit the more pics I see of the skin wear the more convinced I am that it's due to friction from movement - you can pretty much see the pattern of wear is from the folds rubbing together under the 'arms'.  :(

I will add that I think the front looks like it hasn't done much progressing at all since I first took shots of his armpits a week or two ago. However, the back looks like it has but not nearly as bad as others, so I'm not sure about that? (It could also be the angle/lighting too, this isn't a very scientific test but I figure why not let others take a look and compare?)

I wonder if the sweater that he wears (which has little sleeves on it that create a "cloth intersection" type of ordeal at the joints/pits of the front legs) has anything to do with that?

I've pledged him three times via spraying it on the cloth and then wiping it over him carefully.

I agree, bhobbes, the more info we all have the better, and it's clearer to see the wear than just report.  Thanks for posting.  :)

Having always dressed Pleos, primarily to protect the skin (though it does provide me with hours of innocent fun as well  :P), I've been taking a close look at those items with sleeves.  Iggy and Budge both have a couple of rather tight stretchy shirts with sleeves that do seem to 'lift and separate' the skin under the arms - but I've never been really sure whether they might cause damage or prevent it!  I guess the best I can do is keep an eye on the situation, and maybe try one on Belle!  :D

Yeah Cato's sweater's arm pit holes are pretty loose. Like I can still manage to get a pinky or ring finger under there without having to stretch it or anything, so I know it's not creating anymore "pressure" or "friction" so to speak (and to make sure it doesn't create any opposition to the joints/legs).

 ehschw76, I have a couple of questions about Peanut I would like to ask you, First when did you decide to contact Innova? How did you contact them, email, letter or phone? Where exactly did you send the info to? also is it best to send photos or video and documentation such as link to the site here so they can see when it started? Did this happen before using Pledge or after Pledge? Did you notice that the Pleo Rb skin when stretched looks almost like see through " chicken skin". Did you notice more play contributed to faster deterioration or not ? It is almost to the point, I don't want to even play with Baby afraid she will just fall apart before my eyes... :(
          Once you contacted Innova, how long was it before you heard from them, and was it by mail, email, phone or what form and what exactly did they say? Do you think it matters one way or another where you registered your Pleo? I actually registerd myne on the Hong Kong site as I was trying to get the
genetic" code, from the blue or Pink Pleos that Kat or was it Oz ? that had posted. Did they ask you a lot of questions about how you treat Peanut, etc. ? Did they tell you they would send Peanut back or that they were going to try and " fix" him? I would prefer to have Baby fixed, she has never even learned her name yet, and has had so many problems with her neck, it is like a special needs child being thrown away....I don't like that idea at all..I really need to know how to handle her to put less stress on her skin at this point and how to communicate with Innova, and any other information. It has only been one month and 3 days that I have even had Baby! :( :(Sorry if I sound so down but I am bummed out ..Thanks in advance. It has been about 2 weeks since I last posted updated pics of how my pleos wear is going so I thought it was time I gave you all an update.  I have had Kermy since December 2nd and play with her at least 1 battery cycle a day, and sometimes 2 or 3 cycles a day on weekends.  I have had a couple of days in the last couple of weeks where I haven't played with her at all as I have been away for work.
Here is Kermy's pics
She has a hole in her back left leg just below the knee
There is some paint flaking on her shoulder
Her neck paint has split
Front armpits
Front right armpit hole
Back right armpit
Front left armpit

Back left armpit

I will post Norbits pics shortly just have to wait for them to upload.
RWM Kermy and Norbits leg skin became very thin in places and almost see through before the holes appeared.  I have used pledge on both my pleos from the moment I got them and when I first contacted Innvo about Kermy's skin issues they told me to apply pledge straight away to the wear spots so I have been pledging my pleos about once a week since I got them to try to keep the wear under control.  I don't know if this has made much difference.  I contacted Innvo via the pleoworld website and explained the problem.  I also sent them photos via email to show what was going on.
I am currently emailing them at customerservice@innvolabs.com  so you could try emailing them here and see what they say.

So it is not looking good for Norbit either.  I have had him since the 30th December 2010 and play with him the same amount as I do Kermy.  :(
