Ah! But Dr. Mel underestimates Grumpy's "flower power" and his plan to rise as the pretender to Dr. Mel's multi-colored crown. *Muhahahaha!!!!!!* :o

I thought they were his friends! Why would they send him to the circus?

I thought they were his friends! Why would they send him to the circus?

What if Sally and Grumpy are trying to get jobs themselves at the circus and bringing Bob in will cinch the clown gig.

Isn't it rich?
Are we a pair?
Me here at last on the ground,
You in mid-air.
Send in the clowns.

Isn't it bliss?
Don't you approve?
One who keeps tearing around,
One who can't move.
Where are the clowns?
Send in the clowns.

Don't you love farce?
My fault I fear.
I thought that you'd want what I want.
Sorry, my dear.
But where are the clowns?
Quick, send in the clowns.
Don't bother, they're here.

It is "Send in the Clowns" from Stephen Sodheim's "A Little Night Music". I didn't include all the verses. Check it out! :D

Why?  Just steal the lyrics from old songs like 49er does! ;)

Which isn't to say 49er isn't a good poet . . .   he did win the Haiku contest.  But the poems he posted were both popular songs . . .

I thought they were popular enough that people would recognize the song that the words came from. Even after I identified them as songs they were still described as poems. :P
What I think would be nice though, would be to include the musical score together with the words in the post. Then using one of the smiley faces bouncing above the musical staff, we could all sing the song as one happy group of campers… 8)
